Exactly! It's not realistic for to say, well, I moisturize and use SPF. Any derm I've watched on youtube says the same thing: you need a combination of things to age as gracefully as you can.
@@smokingduckgraves Make sure you do what works best for you (your budget, schedule, lifestyle). This is what works best for Dr. Idriss because, as she explains, her life is very hectic, so if she doesn't set aside the time to do her nighttime skincare the minute she gets home from work, she might not do it all. If doing your skincare closer to when you go to bed and after having brushed your teeth works best for you, stick with that! :)
She does. But she shouldn't expect everyone else to have it. I am 1 min into the vid and the kid's shreaks have already annoyed me to no end. It is impossible to make sense of what he says with this noise and interruptions.
@@MsMilagrita so you have an issue with a real mum and doctor.. giving you advise about skincare.. from her home with her children? 🤔 Would you prefer advise from a doctor that doesn’t have children or for the doctor to lock said children away whilst she’s filming content for you? 🤦🏼♂️😂
man.. I am a mom, to a 6 year old, and honestly, this video was hilarious to watch, like, Yes, this is the life of a working mom, the ability to push through and try to finish a thought while your kid is relentlessly conversing to herself beside you.
@@nicoleayala4153 wow can't even comment a different thought these days without people getting upset? Also I learn differently than you obviously. I feel that if someone is trying to teach something to others there shouldn't be distractions around. Maybe others have a hard time learning when there are. There's no need for you to get all upset because someone learns differently than you
@Jackie's Obsession what's wrong with stating a different opinion? Sorry that I learn differently than you! And yes it is about me if I'm watching something and trying to learn something I didn't know before. If someone is teaching something to someone, all distractions should be clear. Everyone learns differently. I have a hard time learning when there are distractions. Also we are allowed to comment opinions that may be different than others, but I see everyone gets offended easily these days
I love that you didn’t push away your child, I’m a mom of three children and this looks like (sort of) what a mom’s live is, thank you for reminding us that no matter how tired we are we need to take care of us!!
absolutely, well said. you can just tell how much she cares for her child, and how loved her child must feel. this is so important for the child's mental health and wellbeing as a future adult
I love how she’s sticking to the basic and prescription products, not like 4 kinds of toners and olive oil. I also love her transparency when it comes to getting medical procedures done.
@@shereeneidriss hello doctor. My 5 year old is showing signs of black and white heads on her nose already, which i had growing up too. When is a good age to start a skincare routine? Is 5 too early?
@@GardenMinistry. You should wait until she’s at least a tween before you even consider incorporating active ingredients into her routine. The only thing you should be putting on her is a mineral based sunscreen. Don’t project societies beauty standards onto her at such a young age.
@@Whatever-hy3dd it's not societies beauty standards, people with acne suffer emotionaly and phychology because of it. I had acne since I was 11, I'm 20 now and still have it (thankfully never cistic acne) and that affected me a lot a society had nothing to do with it. It's what for very light skin people would be to get sunburn and go around looking like a tomatoe but all year around for years of your life... not fun
2 years later but... damn I was so suprised, how you act as a Mum. Patiently, calm... understanding, this is so amazing to see, to watch that is even more interessting than the actual topic of the video. The world needs more Mums like you x)
"Taking over the voice over because my daughter is..screaming at this point"😆😆😂😂 Shout out to all the moms out there who've been patient with us the whole time♥️♥️
I didn't know that micellar water + cleanser already counts as double cleansing! I have been doing this for years and was worried that I would need the extra step of another cleanser, but apparently it works fine!
dr. shereene: ... if you jump straight to the couch, you're never going to wash your face until midnight.. me, watching this on couch after work: hUH??
As a mother of 3, I looveeee how you include your daughter in this video and not instead make another one...😂😂😂 your videos are all so honest and I trully love ‘em 💜💜💜
I just love you. I am 63 with no education in skincare. I don’t always get the right answers from my Dermatologist. I find your videos interesting, educational, but most of all humorous. P.s. your daughter is very cute.
This video is hilarious. Obviously I 100% appreciate the information, but having your daughter in this is complete entertainment. I am well beyond the years of having little ones and have grandchildren now, so it always makes me giggle. PS another great sweater!
I added the vitamin A to my nighttime routine.. and I have to say that my skin LOVES IT!! I don’t have to exfoliate anymore to get my skin smooth. My skin isn’t textured anymore.. now that I’m using that! Thank you !!
I was always wondering about that as my head hit the pillow. I used the palm of my hand to keep it on my face. That probably lasted until I fell asleep. 😆 This is do much better!
Wow, this is revolutionary to me, the choice to do one’s nighttime skincare routine as soon as they get home. I need to try this, especially since I also shower every morning. (It seems like everyone showers at night in skincare youtube.)
I really enjoy how short and informative your videos are! I've been double cleansing for years and it really does make a difference. I would just love to see more people use reusable cotton pads for makeup removal etc, I have some made out of bamboo and they are so soft, it's unreal and better for the environment. Have a lovely weekend
thank you so much for making videos dr. shereene!!!!! you’ve helped me so much with learning what’s good for my own skin and i finally started seeing a dermatologist to help me with my acne and PIH. only started seeing her in november and already seeing some subtle but positive differences in my skin! love you, your videos, and your adorable daughter sm. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!! ❤️❤️
Aye Dios Mio! Mimi is so Adorable....I love your Bathroom! I stopped washing my face in the morning and started just rinsing with cold water which of course I learned from you. And now I will start getting my Night Routine done as soon as I get home! Thank you! #skincaregodmomma 🥰🙏🌺
I love this..Dermatologists are just like normal people, lol! I've learned so much from your channel, I'm getting that Differin this weekend for my spots!
Shereene, I've been loving your content since your daily routine video with Allure. You have an international audience and I would really LOVE if you would provide alternative brands especially for over the counter products or tell us what to look for so e can find our own replacements. You are awesome! Please never stop being down to earth and genuine once you become a RU-vid guru (which I am sure you will).
Very impressed how your skin can tolerate 3 active substances (hydroquinone, azelaic acid and vitamin A) in the same routine! I am lucky if I can use 2 per day and not damage my skin barrier (been there once while using azelaic acid in the morning and avené's retinAL in the evening).
Where have you been all my life?! I feel like I’ve been wasting SO much money on skincare and allll the products lately only to be sensitive and so consistently break out lately. This was super helpful, thank you!
You're such a good mommy! My mother always removed her makeup and washed her face every night. By the time I was 12 I followed her routine. I never had any acne and lovely skin now. (I'm 50) I always say it's because my Mother modeled good skin care habits.
Your daughter is the cutest thing. Love how you just let her be with you. She loves you and looks up to you so much. What a great video! And the info re: the products & your routine was lovely too. :) :)
I am so scared of using hydroquinone because of all the bad publicity surrounding cancer risk, rebound pigmentation etc ... especially as I have olive skin. Could you please post a video just concentrating on this one ingredient to clear up all the confusion.
I am between a 3 and 4 on the pigmentation scale. I've been using Obaji hydroquinone blend and I've noticed my hyperpigmentation getting darker on the forehead and above the eyebrows. I'm going to stop. Is it because of my skin tone? I'm Lebanese too. In the video you make addressing hydroquinone and hyperpigmentation please warn people about c02 lasers and the risk of hyperpigmentation after. It can turn into melasma and the hydroquinone won't fix it. Makes it come back or darker.
Been follow since your very first vid! Every time I feel too tired for nighttime skin care I hear you in my head “consistency is the key, guys”! Hahahah! Thank you for doing these vids., I truly appreciate them! I also see a derm since I’ve followed you and it’s helped tremendously!
“Disrespect to the viewer” ma’am this is RU-vid😂😂 you are not her patient and this is not a personal one on one derm appointment. Don’t choose to be so miserable 🙄
I have to say that there is just nothing more attractive in this world than a good mother... : ). Cheers from Canada and being a registered psychiatric nurse myself I appreciate the quality of information and the professionalism of your video's very much.
I love your videos because they calm me down. When I watch videos from other dermatologists, there is too much information at once and I get really nervous: D. You explain one step at a time and this makes you easy to follow.
My favourite lady dropped a video!! 😃 Excited me (also busy working-out) decided to drop a comment, and watch later. 😊 I loved Mimi (she's really cute) , and I love you Dr. Shereen Idriss.. ❤❤
@@shereeneidriss haha yes, I'm more diligent at working-in than out, especially at present. With a holistic approach to skincare (now that I have you) and clean-eating, I feel real good! Thank you for all these, my skincare routine has never been so scientific 😊❤🙏🇮🇳
Can you speak about product layering? I’m always weary of using Acids and retinol together. I saw that you used a mask with an acid, azelaic acid, and a retinol. Would love to know about how often you use them and which combinations do not work well together.
Another correction to my skin care thanks to you! I put my skincare on as I am falling asleep in between products. Your daughter to sooooo cute 💖. I am 55 and am dealing with acne scars and skin discoloration from too many hours laying in the sun as a teen! You have given so much great info but I am still not sure what is going to best for me. Definitely don’t have sensitivity issues.
I loveeee watching your videos you’re my fav dermatologist!! ❤️ Can you please please do a rosacea friendly nighttime skin care routine video? There are so many products/recommendations out there it gets overwhelming (i.e. niacinamide over Vit. C, toner is a no no, azelaic acid is amazing for reasons I’m not sure, forget retinol unless you wana look like a tomato) ahhhh I’m just out here approaching 30 trying to improve my rosacea/reduce signs of aging so my 50 y/o self can thank me. I genuinely value your expertise and would sooo appreciate your pillow talk guidance 😊❤️!
Omg this is so cute, fun and informative. I love that Shereene is so relatable. I used to watch Dr Dray and am really grateful for her advice. But man she is otherworldly
Loved this!❤...especially the 'Mom' part...going with, not against the little one's behavior & sense of self, i.e.... redirecting, and not telling her, 'No', or 'Be Quiet', or 'Don't', or God forbid any other of the suppressing or downright damaging things a grown-up might have in store for a little one's fragile sense of being. This was more a lesson in being a loving & supportive Mum, than a skincare routine, but BOTH managed to get across effectively! Thanks, Dr. Idriss, (I just am unsure how to spell your first name...why the formalities of using 'Dr., haha). Thanks for such a great & educational 'Mommy & Nighttime Skin Care Routine video! ❤ Awesome!
Okay, I don't know if I can watch all of your videos because I always ending buying something. BUT there is no buyer's remorse. Y'all the La Roche-Posay cream is MAGIC. My dry cracked lips were just SAVED by this creme. 10/10 recommendation from the doc!
It's true you were trying to film a video and your daughter was making it a bit difficult, but she is very cute! I remember how hard those years were, and thought I couldn't wait until my kids were older, even though they were so cute. Now I'm happy remembering how I enjoyed their adorable moments.
I love watching your videos, as you always offer such great skin advice! I would love to see a video on diet and the skin, and what are the best foods to get optimal skin. Also, I would love a video on what products you suggest a person in their late teens to early 20s should use.
Ohmygod!!! Is this telepathy??? I was just thinking to myself while doing my skincare routine that, “I think i should DM or leave a yt comment for Dr.Idriss to make a video on her night time skincare routine”. And i just connected my wifi and guess what’s the first notification- yaaaayyyyy!!!!🥳🥳🥳❤️❤️❤️
I only discovered your channel two days ago and i love it! I like your humor and your smart, uncomplicated manner. Your daughter is so cute. So funny, I know these situations from my little one, she always wants to know what I'm doing on my face :) Have a nice weekend💐
I bought everything you suggested in quite a few videos. I love the way you break products down pros and cons. Very informative. Waiting for your product(the set) to become available online. I’m on the waiting list. Hopefully, they will be back in stock soon! Thank you!
I'd love a video about the treatments you have had and your thoughts on them! You look very natural and I've seen in another video of you treating a patient that you put emphasis on a more natural look.
Hi ! I am 28 years old women with seborric dermatitis who live in france can you recommand a routine ( moistrizing and anti anging ) but french pharmacy edition plz ? Love your content 😚😚😚
I wish I could find a nighttime skincare routine for me that could be a bit quicker. I'm a nurse and work 13 hour shifts and I am pretty much dead on my feet when I come home. It is especially hard if I am working day shifts back to back. I will start at 0730 and finish at 2030 then have to start again the next day at 0730. I am in my early 50's and am quite lucky to have good skin (Thank you mama!!) but I know I need to step it up in my skincare routine but it can be overwhelming with the amount of products available. I'm really interested in introducing retinol but again it is a minefield of info out there
This is the second video I've watched and I've already learned so much sunscreen last?? Who knew. And for nighttime ugh I am definitely post Couch washer. Plus the most adorable cameo.
I used to watch Dr. Dray before discovering you, so I'm shocked that you don't put a sunscreen on even though there's sunlight coming in 🤣 But I also think it's healthy not to be over-obsessed with sunscreen
