It’s especially impressive after how well Minnesota defended him in games 1 and 2. Joker had his “Jordan rules” moment and was turning the ball over a lot. Three games later, Jokers not only back on track but putting up 40 and 13 with zero turnovers against the same defense that we thought had a shot. Beyond Minnesota, I don’t think there’s a defense left that can slow him down. Thunder might have took 3 of 4 from Denver but they never bothered Joker
Winning DPOY doesn't mean that you are a good defender against Jokic. Gobert won DPOY because of his defensive brilliance against 29 teams over 82 games. Jokic is just a bad match up for him.
When he was down 0-2, it was the "MVP is a regular season award" now that he up again. It's "That's why he clearly the MVP". This is exactly why people don't like him.
Its amazing that Jokic is incredibly humble as well. He's never responded to critics, but only plays his heart out and shows why he is the best player in the league.
@@Ifreshylactive why? do you want the fans to use his bad game in the playoffs to vouch for his mvp? you dum asl. why don't you use this game as proof that ant is the next jordan? you can't. that's how things work lil bro, you take the positive things and use them for arguments. must be your first time on earth.
He's literally unstoppable. Defenses can't even fully commit to helping, because he will instantly set up the open man with an easy bucket. So they just have to watch helplessly as their teammate gets cooked over and over...even when it's the DPOY
He seems like an elite NHL center like Crosby or Connor McDavid with the ability to score but also has insane passing abilities leading to a ton of assists.
Jokic has proved the last three games why he’s the best in the world. Going down 0-2 and since then has played out of his mind to help his team take a 3-2 series lead. Incredible.
According to Jokic fans he's the only player to ever go down 0- 2 in the history of the playoffs. The Bucks went down 0-2 twice on their finals run and they were joking with each other, not throwing heat packs on the floor trying to injured the other team.
@@neutralline2040…. Nah, that’s Jordan, but he’s definitely the best player in the league right now … He’s got a lot of basketball left in his career, we’ll see where he ends up, could slip in the top 10 or top 5 of all time when it’s all said and done … Lot’s of basketball left though
Nikola is the best player in NBA and whoever’s second is not even close anymore. They can match his raw stats but you only need to look at the games to see that everyone else is a level below.
Joker does things no other player in history can do. I'm a Dallas fan and I am amazed by Luka, yet I watch this video and think...damn, Luka ain't there yet. This guy deserve's his MVP's.
One of the greatest playoff performances I have ever witnessed from a player UNBELIEVABLE I dont get why the media hates him so much hes very humble also as a person
Michael Jordan won the NBA MVP award five times during his career. Here are the Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) award winners for each of those years: 1988: Michael Jordan (Chicago Bulls) Interestingly, in 1988, Michael Jordan himself won both the MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year awards. 1991: Dennis Rodman (Detroit Pistons) Rodman was known for his exceptional rebounding and defensive prowess, contributing significantly to the Pistons' defensive dominance during that period. 1992: David Robinson (San Antonio Spurs) Robinson was a dominant defensive presence in the league, known for his shot-blocking and overall defensive skills. 1996: Gary Payton (Seattle SuperSonics) Payton, nicknamed "The Glove," was renowned for his perimeter defense and is the only point guard to have won the DPOY award. 1998: Dikembe Mutombo (Atlanta Hawks) Mutombo was famous for his shot-blocking ability and his signature finger-wag after blocking shots. He was a dominant defensive force in the paint. These players were recognized for their exceptional defensive contributions during the years when Michael Jordan was honored as the league's Most Valuable Player.
This man has a forever home in Denver. Free services and food. If he ever has to buy another house or mansion in Denver, they should lower the price for him too.
I went to bed thinking Jokic is a basketball Jedi. Minnesota is one of the best teams in the league, skilled and experienced at every position. Jokic outplayed them. At several times he got the outlet and ran the break, and dished to the open man for the dunk. He *ran the break* ...
Man, I don’t know where all the hate for rudy comes from. Just because draymon the donkey says he is barbecued chicken are we supposed to believe it? I think its more credit to nikola and the team, rather then “rudy not playing well”. Don’t get it wrong, Im a huge jokic fan, but the slander for rudy sucks. It kinda reminds me of jokic, when SAS or perk talked trash about the big fella. And rudy seems like a nice guy on court. He seems to just play and not trash talk, like ant.
@@rickyricardo2006because he is a crybaby when he didnt make the all star, and hopefully he will never again win dpoy after this match. He is also the most overrated player according to anonymous nba players poll...
Why? Rudy is an amazing player, great athlete and decent human from what I gather. He did about as well as he could in this game, Jokic was just on another level. Worlds greatest Defenders of all time couldn't stop a man like Jokic. Rudy is a bitch for many other reasons, but this game was not one of those reasons.
I wouldn't be shocked if this guy grabs around more than 5 Mvps, wins around 5 championships and becomes the goat of this game. He's just so damn good man, and he's been like this for the past half decade, consistent as hell and elevating his game even further when it comes playoff time. Never seen a player as skilled as him.
Man, I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of the modern NBA but I usually get pulled into the playoffs. What we saw tonight was "Angry Joker" and I think he's the best basketball player I've ever seen. Joker is a deceptively quick 7-foot tall Larry Bird who can pass like prime LeBron or John Stockton. The guy is absolutely unreal. Good luck everyone else 😂
He is on his way to be the best ever in this game... it is getting closer and closer to it... Now, he's "only" the best center of all-time... and should been 4x mvp, let's not forget...
Calm down! Jokic is all time, but he'll never best center of all time, much less the greatest player of all time. Could be the greatest center of his era, though. That's still all time great.
Shai is great. ANT is great. Giannis is great. But Jokic is the best player in the NBA by a big margin. Dominates with his his scoring, assists, rebound and basketball IQ. People need to quit hating and enjoy an all-time great player.
I agree. I was about 14 when LeBron came into the league and was a hater when he left to Miami but after like a year I realized I should appreciate that I get to watch his career instead.
can y'all stop comparing every good white player to bird please? They barely play alike, at different positions, with completely different personalities
Jokic is the best basketball player of the century without a doubt and is one of the players with the highest IQ of all time, he dominates the game without complications, he is a genius of this sport, Denver is going to win the ring again, with Jokic they are unstoppable
Short horror story. Title: "Gobert at the Psychologist" Gobert: "I had another nightmare." Psychologist: "Jokic?" Gobert: "How did you know?" Psychologist: "I watched the game."
Paul Pierce made by far the best analyses of this series (after 2:0 for Minnesota). That's the difference between someone who knows and understands game from inside and media charlatans who lives for (and ON) hypes and bombastic narratives.
@one3497 he said back against the walls, they just named you mvp, i expect a signature game from jokic. Basically saying if he is who he really is, he'll show up and find a way to win. And he did basically
Shaq knows deep down inside that if Jokic played with Kobe and prime Wade he would win more rings than him. Shaq is "I played with two best guards after Mike" merchant.
Bro is Hakeem, Kareem, Magic, and Bird all in one player. If he plays for another decade there is genuine GOAT potential and I’m the die hardest of MJ fans.
40 Points on 0 Turnovers.😳 I'm really Happy that Jokic is shutting all of the haters tf up. Jokic is the real MVP. You will never see SGA or Luka do this.
3:20 is ridiculous…… I can’t believe Shaq had the nerve to say this guy shouldn’t have been MVP. My cat is smarter than Shaq.
How can anyone question him for getting the MVP, just look at what he does. He score, make plays for his teammates, pass the ball to the right teammate, rebounds and can certainly play defense. Some people are just really hatin I guess 😊
Lmao top 15? Your a joke he literally has one yes ONE ring in 11 seasons in a league where they have limited defense so that offense is more watchable for the casual 🤣
This was so much more than Jokic just cooking Gobert. He made each and every single person that said the Nuggets were done after 2 games pay with their soul. I mean he made them all PAY!!!!
He makes every player on his team play. He just knows who's turning red hot in his team and keep finding them from nowhere. In Lakers series MPJ, last 2 ganes Gordon and now KCP.
It is a fact , the Joker is the best NBA player right now . Forget that thing about european players. Jokic always humble , never talking loud , confident and efective. We are seen a tremendous player and also a great human being.
@@antdoge29and these play offs show why Jokic is MVP just like regular season. We can clearly see that Jokic is the most consistent player in the league and that was the case even in regular season while Luka had many up ls and downs.
@@oumarndiaye3885wilt and bill would be absolute bums in todays league. You need actually skill and a bag to thrive dont compare modern players to 60’s.
What impressed me about his offense waa that Jocik didn’t repeat many if any of his offensive moves. He shot from various locations, used his right and left hand, went over and under, such an arsenal of shots, deep bag. What impressed me about his assists was that most came during transition which meant that he was bringing the ball up the court and controlling the game in the full court and half court.
