Nikon D600 Review
Here is a Nikon D600 Hands On Review with Sample Pictures and ISO Test. It's Nikon's entry level full frame sensor FX camera with 24 megapixel and full HD video. I was very much impressed with the over all quality of the camera. The camera has duel memory card slots. The body is very similar to Nikon D7000 but it's bigger in size. In my opinion it's a great camera specially for the price.
I do plan to compare this camera with Nikon D700 and Nikon D800 so please stay tuned for that video.

Nikon has been pretty consistent in referring to this camera as an 'Enthusiast' camera. There's nothing wrong with the specs or the performance, but there are some quirks that prevent this from being a pro camera, other than a backup, as you've pointed out. I think some of the discontent among photogs is that Nikon has released two cameras now, neither of which is exactly what pro D700 owners need. I don't need 36MP nor do i want a D7000 shell. So I'm staying with the D700 for now. Cheers.

hi man! thanks for your informative videos, before i got my D7000 last june 2012, ive watched almost all of your videos & learned a lot from you, esp aperture, shutter speeds, iso, metering, foucsing etc... keep it up man! one question how to do you upload this kind or lets say all of your good quality videos? do you use video converter or just upload it straight thru? thanks again..

Great review! Very informative. I'm an APS-C shooter considering the D600 for mostly landscape work. As far as your dynamic range tests, it seems like you need to wait for RAW support in Lightroom. Recovering highlights and shadows on a 16-bit RAW should work better than an 8-bit JPEG.

Very good point about the focus points. All the focus point are pretty much in the center of the view. You have to recompose to bring the stuff close the one third sections of the view. The 39 point can very well be covered by 20 focus points.

Hi man, Thank you for the useful videos. Needing some advice here, how would you compare the d700 against the d600. I have a deal for a d700 with 65k on the shutter for 950 and another d600 with less than 1k on the shutter for 1200. how do you think these cameras compare ? which would you go for knowing the situation I'm in ? Thanks!

Can you do a follow up video while shooting RAW once it becomes available on Lightroom. And also a D7000 Vs. D600 ISO comparison. Excellent review ... Keep up the good work!

For someone who is using a d7000 and doing family portraits, children and newborn, Would you recommend d700 or d600? I really like the 2 spaces for the sd cards, but I am not sure about how the focusing points will affect my composition.

really! reason im asking because i know the 7000 is a newer body but the 300 is a bigger more pro body. correct me if im wrong. you're saying the 7000 shoots better in low light? i have a d70s now and looking to upgrade the body soon but not make a lateral movement. i tested a canon 60d and t41 with a 18-55? (18-120 on the 60d) in best buy with no flash and was impressed and it was because of the cmos sensor

sounds like a great back up camera. i am very very happy with my D700 it has NEVER let me down. the only reason i would get something like this is for video mode. then again i would prefer the D800 for the extra dollars. The D600 is still a superb camera for everyone. Good for a second body because of the reduced size and weight. and guys, dont worry about megapixels, 12mp are perfect for me, easier for editing and processing and storage. never had a customer complain about resolution.

Now before I start excuse my ignorance I'm by no means professional lol! Here goes..I see you own a D600 (Is this the camera you used for the baby shoot?) Do you feel thats too much kit for a beginner? & if so what Nikon would you suggest to allow me to get professional shots but easy to manage? In regards to the lense you talk about "Prime" "Sevro "AF & "AFS" I'm confused please enlighten me & stear me in the right direction as to the best lense to go with camera that you recommend. Thank you.

Was the D600 a loaner for review or do u own? I ask only because of my interest in purchasing the D600 but concern for the alleged dirty sensor issues. For me it would be a discretionary purchase, and I'd prefer not to spend $2k for a camera with a chronic dust problem. Thanks!

i would say the aperture is more for dof then setting exposure, changing iso can do that or shutter speed, also i think you can change aperture in photo lv, then change it back to video lv, so the mirror doesn't have to flip

i shoot weddings with my Panasonic GF1 which low light performance is really really bad, I think when I upgrade to the D600 i'll be just fine :) Nice video!

$2100 is a lot I think I'll go for a D7000 and use the extra towards a decent lens. Any advice on how to get my name out there for family / newborn stuff? I'm not so interested in weddings but you're the man so I'd like to hear what you have to say.

@morjanim. I always go for the best glass first. Bodies depreciate too fast, much more than lenses. Glass also has the biggest impact on image quality. Have fun shooting.

So i'm in Korea for two years, and I want to take pictures of the area, you know landscape buildings all that. I also want to do a few family portraits of people for their facebooks living here. What do you think would be the best for a low price. I was looking at the Nikon D3200 but can't decide.

I had issues with dust as well at first I replaced camera that I bought from bestbuy they were really cool about it swapped it no problem then after a few days of shooting I started to have the issue again I was upset I contacted Nikon they said send it to us but I did not feel like waiting 2 or 3 months so I ordered sensor cleaning swabs and solution and cleaned it my self, it's super clean now. Don't try it at home :)

It's a pretty safe deal with all original accessories and documents, including receipt. I told the guy how much I had to spend and since he hadn't found other buyers he agreed. How would you compare their IQ and high iso ? It's what is going to matter for what I do. Cheers! (changed username this morning btw)

.. such a lousy comment. instead of comparing them, you should be thankful that they are doing this videos. But to me, Both of them are the same - THEY BOTH HELP PEOPLE IN PHOTOGRAPHY. And that's what's important.

Your hand movements are natural and they add life to the video. If you were to hold them completely still it would look unnatural and and the video would lose personality.
