Volo's betrayal might have been more impacful to the story but man was "Mochi man has actually been a secret ninja assassin this whole time" much more surprising to me lmao

I don't know what's better. The fact that Wally's ancestor also had a gallade, or the fact Wally's ancestor also had the habit of assaulting you when you're tired after walking through a cave.

The fact he was Wally’s ancestor is what messed me up in the head. Bro.. WALLY. As a NINJA. Just like in the manga! I was floored

Best part is that this has been hinted at through the entire game. When Akari gives you the smoke bomb recipe, she mentions that she got it from Beni. One of the ingredients in smoke bombs is softfoot roots, what Beni says he uses for Potato Mochi. And then at one point you can speak to an npc in the village who tells you Beni has been seen leaving the village on his own to gather ingredients and then he wonders how Beni always manages to come back completely unharmed.

I really liked this reveal, because the whole thing about ninjas is that they pretended to be common people. As soon as Beni talked about the smoke bombs i undestood that he was a ninja

Beni kind of gave his true colours away the first time you met him - before he knew who you were he was really rude and wanted you gone. Then after you joined the team, he wasn't mean anymore, but kept the interaction to a minimum. He still managed to keep up to date on your plans by walking in on your meals with the professor every single time..

I love how it goes from, "Why are you here??????" To, "Huh?!?!" To, "He's a Ninja?!"

I love that the two dialogue options are basically "WTF?" and "WTF?!"

When you think about it. Maybe his hands weren't shaking from being old while holding the plate, but excitement from knowing that there was someone worthy of a battle for him.

The best plot twist of the whole game wasn’t evil Volo, or 2nd phase Giratina, or ninja Beni- It was that the mochi man just straight up hated you the whole time 💀

I got the Volo plot twist spoiled for me so this one caught me off guard because I was waiting to see why Volo turned evil and didnt pay any attention to Beni at all I remember when he showed his Ninja outfit the first thing I said was "welp im dead" and then my level 90 Alpha Scizor floored him

Beni's glow up was beyond my expectations

I was spoiled for Volo, but Beni caught me completely off guard. Also, this just shows that everyone at this point was too busy hating Kamado to suspect Volo.

Seeing him in his ninja style and i just scream 'the white power ranger!!'

Love how Beni literally does the peace out meme but with smoke bombs. Also, this plot twist genuinely took me by surprise the first time I got to it. I popped off. It was exciting.

Lol, I remember my reaction so well!! I had gotten to this part and immediately was like "Oh, shoot. Is that Beni?" Then the cutscene started, and everything felt ominous to me. Then I noticed that boss music was starting to play, and I was like "Holy shoot, Beni's a boss battle. Interesting, but nothing to worry about." Then his appearance changed and everything, and I was like "HOLY SHOOT, IT'S KAKASHI!!! OMG, THIS IS AMAZING!! You are now dubbed as my favorite character in this whole game!!!!" I had to use status moves so that I can admire Beni's new character design during the battle. It was freaking awesome!!

This was the one that really hurt me. Ever since then when I walk past him in the village I’ll throw my Pokémon out near him to stare him down, and now thanks to the update I can curb stomp his ass to my heart’s content.
