Here’s what happened from my perspective: - Chat told us the Japan stream revealed MvC. - Bless asked me to look into it. And it was there from Japanese sources on social media, so I shared that. - MvC finally pops up in the english stream No one’s fault but Nintendo’s for putting that reveal earlier in one stream than another, causing confusion. You can see for yourself in both streams, it pops up a full 6 minutes earlier in the Japanese stream

Makes no sense to do that today, mobile chips have advanced a lot since 2015 so they can get a lot more power and still be inexpensive. GameCube and Wii were proprietary IBM chips, Switch is a custom Nvidia Tegra.

@@Eric-nx6cp I've been following Nintendo a long time. Just because they make a lot of weird decisions, doesn't mean they're always going to make the wrong decisions. Since the Wii, they've been "a generation behind" the other hardware. They're not going to release something that's two generations behind. Plus, I see no reason to doubt the reports we've gotten on the new hardware so far, unless all the big gaming publications really got tricked somehow.

In terms of scope, this game went into development in 2019 at the latest. It’s a Switch game first and foremost, therefore, it’ll be limited to what that system can do in terms of scope. Nothing wrong with that imo, we’ve seen what the Switch can do. Hopefully Switch 2 can increase resolution and possibly framerate, depending on it that on Switch already runs at 60 FPS or not.

@@ThePughski TOTK is a giant open where you can go underground, in the sky, or back to the mainland with no loading screens. The hardware can be used, and for a game like Metroid Prime that’s not open world, the Switch will be able to handle it well enough. The trailer from that Direct was very much proof of that. Nintendo knows how to get the most out of their hardware. In terms of scope, the game will be what it needs to be. Wouldn’t be surprised if Switch 2 can increase that resolution though.

I do hold professional video game commentators and reviewers to a separate standard though, especially if they're gonna be cracking jokes about Square Enix in regards to this game without knowing it is published and produced by Mistwalker. The same company, started by Sakaguchi Hironobu, that gave us Lost Odyssey and The Last Story.

I would honestly give this a 7/10, leaning more towards 6 on your guys’ scale. Zelda and Metroid carried a LOT of this, the Mario and Luigi game looked fun too but overall 70% of these games were JRPG fodder or simply something that isnt all that interesting.

really? I believe it. it looks great but I don't know, it just doesn't feel super high-res I guess? it would be funny if it doesn't come to switch since the trailer says it is coming to switch.
