As part of ongoing improvement to boost control on a Nissan 3L I have trialled a new needle valve mated up to the Dawes valve we use to control boost on the ZD30. The needle valve (like the Dawes valve) is also from 3 bar racing.
I have just recieved from 3 bar racing , a needle valve , a dawes valve , a boost gauge and some T pieces . I have been looking at schematics and videos on how it is set up. The part that I do not understand is where does the vaccum line goes if you have a stock intercooler? I have an intercooler that has the stock sides and the core is a bit bigger and the sides are welded , but it does not have any holes in it. In the stock config there is a T piece under it where the vaccum line goes? Am I just suposed to use it as it is or?
Confused here, you don't connect any vacuum line to the IC only the boost line that goes to the back of the Dawes. If it is boost line your referring to then you can buy an adapter that fits under the MAP switch on the IC (look on ebay) that is by far the easiest way. I'm not aware of any T on a std IC, my old IC definitely doesn't have such a fitting.
