This car is such a BEAST in Gran Turismo. In GT3, it's one of the Holy Trinity (with the 787B and the GT ONE) WOW!!!

it's a car that ive never won in gran turismo 3 that i simped over so much as a teenager .. i had both 787B and gt one so i went with 787B because it was better , i know with all my heart the nissan was the best car in the game with the polyphony F1

I remember with the big turbo the car hit 1205hp in GT3, even the GT One hit 1350hp the nissan was quicker in that game, you can win that car in Gran Turismo all Star series.

If it wasn't for the replacement for the exhaust pipes from the rear end (tested at the Paul Ricard) to the sides, that overheated the oil tanks, it would have really won LM in 1997.

The Japanese GT1 cars from Nissan and Toyota from '97 to '99 rivaled the German machines in looks and performance. Those along with some of the later Group C cars have always been some of the coolest sportscars of all time.

Yes they were!!! both were GT1 class in 1998 , just like porsche 911 Gt1 , mercedes CLK GTR and CLK-LM.

Xerro No Vatimo corvettes c5r won in gt1 to replace the r390,clk gtr, porches gt1. Etc even won overall at Daytona 24hr & Le Mans in 2001. In won lemans gt1 2002 also 9 out of 10 races in alms. 2004 won every race in alms including Le Mans gt1.

3:43 laps from the top class in 1999. 20 years later, the production based GT cars are nearly as quick, and run 3:50 laps. Amazing how far we've come.

This was when Le Man's was at its best! You had Nissan, Porche, BMW, Toyota and Mercedes battling. It was exciting!!

This was one of my Go-to race cars in the Gran Turismo series. It was always a hair split between the ‘98 GT-One race car and this car namely in GT2. In GT3 it was worse when they added the 787B 😂.

Two vehicles that should've made it into production and continued into mainstream supercar history books will forever be this, and the Toyota TS020. I cannot imagine what it could've been like if Nissan and Toyota actually pursued a production line of vehicles (Like Mercedes-Benz with the CLK-GTR, and McLaren with the F1), rather than the One-offs they made for homologation purposes. I wonder if you paid either company enough money, if they'd actually produce one for you today. I can't imagine they'd say no, with enough 0's behind your figure.

1 road car only. Red (short tail) was transformed into the Blue (long tail). It does now indeed reside in Nissan's heritage museum in Zama (near Tokyo), a site I was lucky enough to visit last year and got the chance to see it and a number of the race versions.

el trasero del r390 gt1 del97 es distinto al del 98 , en ambas versiones de calle ,la del 97 tenia un pequeñisimo aleron

tengo muchas preguntas con respecto al nissan r390 ojala alguien me las pueda responder.. En el año 1997 los coches estaban casi nivelados con los prototipos y porsche gt1, faallaron por problemas en la caja de cambios, eso debio ser muy decpcionante especialmente para kasuyoshi hoshino, en el año 98 estuvieron muy lejos, porque??? eran muy pesados? les faltaba potencia?, incluso en la carrera vi que eran facilmente superados por un ferrari 333 sp, como es eso?? acabadron 3 puesto pero por la noche el numero 32 y 33 estaban en 7 y octavo puesto que les sucedio acaso hubo problemas?? que problemas tuvieron.. otra cosa me gustaria que ese nissan siguiera existiendo, es especial para mi al igual que el zx de cunningham que acabo en 5 lugar en le mans 1994, fabuloso ese nissan, realmente me impresiono estaba justo detras de todos los prototipos , algo que el skyline no pudo hacer.

5,27, esa es la version color lila de calle del 97 ,que aparece en gran turismo 2 , la segunda version de calle es de color azul del 98 , que aparece en gran turismo 4 ,y que actualmente es el unico modelo de calle que tiene nissan en sus instalaciones ,que jamas fue producida en serie , y me pregunto que paso con esa version color lila del 97?, quien sera su dueño? nissan o es el mismo auto ya en version azul ?

The RE-7B was based on the Mazda 787B and Jaguar XJR-12 (Group C cars). The R390 GT1, on the other hand, was based on the Jaguar XJR-15 (a British supercar), hence the similar design. It was basically a Japanese version of the XJR-15.
