So you are blending with water, squeezing out the water then dehydrating and reblending dry to a fine powder...what makes you think any of that is removing carbs? You are simply processing further and removing flavour...not carbs.
@MsNouali
@MsNouali 3 года назад
Essentially she is breaking up the cell walls of the coconut, and emulsifying the fat and sugars with the water, straining them away and all that is left is the cellulose of the coconut or as we know it, fiber and or starch if using a starchy ingredient. It’s how corn and potato starch and any other starch and fiber is made. Corn fiber which is considered keto the separation of the starchy molecules from the cellulose of corn. As an example. It does lose flavor as well as sugar and fat. Carbs are in the sugar. If it’s not sweet like regular coconut flour anymore than you can safely assume sugar and therefore carbs were removed. To be clear, sugar carbs are what we don’t want. Technically all fiber has carbs but it should pass through the body and not increase blood sugar readings so not counted as a carb load. This is why keto followers talk about net versus total carbs. This process should drastically reduce total carbs by lowering or eliminating more sugar and maybe creates a zero NET carb fiber.
@regular-joe
@regular-joe 3 года назад
@Vintage Lilac Memories You are correct, there is no "zero carb" coconut flour being produced here, nor is it possible. Carbs are found in the fiber, the sugar, and the starch; net grams carbs include both the starch and sugar, the fiber is not included. The process she describes cannot and does not result in "zero carb" coconut flour. But her viewers are happy to believe it, so what's there to do?...

@@briellejacobs1045 I guess you would use it as the same measurements as almond flour because if you do this process in the video, the coconut flour is lighter and not as absorbing. Just from experience trying this method and using the coconut flour. This method seems to take out some of the fat or carbs rather. But, if you use regular coconut flour and don't do this method I'm learning you will need less coconut flour verses almond flour cause coconut flour is like sponge. Coconut Flour Tips: So for every 1/2 cup of coconut flour used, add 2-3 eggs and extra liquid depending on you recipe. Substitute coconut flour for 20% of wheat flour.
