No Liquid Nitrogen this year, Winter Wheat 2024 and both kinds of "Deer-e" had a hand in it!!

I drug my feet on getting my sprayer fixed, and didn't get spray liquid N this year on the wheat. Lots to learn and where to put emphasis. We got to spread some 34-0-0 and Boy did it help. The deer and the drill both fought me again it seems! For My first ever wheat crop I can't complain!!

Late March is a good time to put nitrogen on wheat. Nothing wrong with dry either, but usually you get a more even coverage with liquid unless you have nozzle problems. LOL

We planted wheat twice,,, The First and last,,,,, We did pretty good but almost wore out the tires on a borrowed Hopper bottom trailer getting rid of it...... Only Place that offered a reasonable price was a Feed Mill..... And the combining was a fiight to keep the combine on top of the ground, ... It kept falling into the SubSoiler furrows,,, So we had to Cut diagonal to the way the Cotton was planted.....

Mid-March is almost ideal timing on wheat for Nitrogen if it's going to be applied in just one application. How many lbs./ac did you put out? I'm going have to step up my editing game, you had some cool shots applying the N.
@Pennies_on_the_dollar
@Pennies_on_the_dollar 3 месяца назад
I really appreciate that Dylan, I was so worried that it was too late. I had wanted to get it in the week before, but too scared. After that application it was a steady good rain for about 8 hours, should have soaked right in! I had put the majority of it down when I planted, according to my soil samples it needed about 35-40 lbs per more. I think I got right around that mark maybe 40 . I can see that liquid is a touch easier to calculate and evenly spread. I did do a thing and fixed the sprayer, hoping to side dress corn with it if I get any to grow!! 🤞🤞😁😁 Oh boy the camera angles, thank you VERY much for the kind words!! I did what I could to not repeat to many angles. I was very pleased with the way they turned out, like a kid in a candy store excited 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 Thank you sir for the great advice and input!!
