This is my rig almost exactly for my BMPCC stuff. I can switch between handheld, tripod and gimbal in seconds. The tilta cages have the built in slider plate which makes it even easier. Great stuff!
Beware, this SmallRig 4064 ONLY accept SmallRig "Arca-Swiss" base plate and SmallRig cage. Any other base plates will not work (e.g. Peak Design, Ulanzi, Pgytech). It is not a true Arca-Swiss Clamp, with a design that block non-SmallRig products.
I used a random base plate and sirui cage. Works fine. No loose items. Locks down tight. Sony a6700. The sirui cage alone works too. Slides in and out fine, locks down really tight.
I do like the concept of these when I first saw them pop up...but when using Cine glass...i need rods for a follow focus. I have basically made my own version of this with small rigs really small V-Mount plate, 2 very small rods, and their base plate with a quick detach arca swiss plate to easily remove my FX30. Its basically exactly like this product, but with some rods for my follow focus
I would not trust that sony e mount without lens support with these heavy lens you are using as even my 24-70 have some flex on the mount and saw some pics of the mount getting rip off by just holding a 70-200 gm :/ be careful
I love using it because it's just a two step process to remove and switch it between cameras. It's incredibly easy to use and compact. In combination with a modern v-mount with plenty of ports I'm also not missing a d-tap splitter or the likes. Great overview!
Thanks. I really like something when it just works. Even if it is something this simple. It’s amazing it took this long for someone to come up with this style of design.
This looks like a great combo to go with their new vmount battery! May I ask - what are those awesome red cables you're using? I need suitable usbc and hdmi cables for my Video Assist and these look perfect!
