and the thing is , if u really ask someone to define living in sin or practicing sin they just give u a list of sins that people can do at any given time but not a detailed definition that clearly identifies the difference between people who commit sins from time to time versus people who practice or live in sin . it seems to come down to the number of sins committed within a particular time period but Jesus already explained to peter that even if a person sins seven times in a day and then confesses or repents seven times a day then they shall be forgiven so the whole thing about how many sins committed within a given time period does not seem to make too much of a difference as long as the person keeps coming back within that same time period . so living in sin or practicing sin should be defined as sinning without ever intending to come back and ask for forgiveness or not coming back and repenting / confessing sins within a short period of time .

One sin leaves you short of God, without Jesus.

@@marleonetti7 Paul gave them 2 chances in 2 Corinthians 13 & that’s it. Then he tells them to “examine whether you are in the faith” because of their reputation of sinning. In 1 Corinthians 5 he doesn’t even give a 2nd chance. He delivers the man over to Satan & tells them to go ahead & purge everyone evil from among them (giving the list of sins like you said).

If the Lord wants me to do it his will be done not mine. Seeing how it won't impact my salvation, I choose to not do it. The subtleties and nuances of the Greek grammar and syntax are critical for proper understanding though. Not that the average Christian needs to learn Greek.. but Christian New Testament scholars and teachers should.

The thing is that regardless of any language there are always going to be those who are as subtle as serpents with deceiving words, so where language fails one must follow the Holy Spirit who indwells within us. It's still interesting to learn Greek, and I would encourage those whose hearts who by the Holy Spirit are genuine in the faith to do this, but also of course always watch your hearts for fear that you be deceived by the Devil; as the one thing he deceives us with most above all is fear, but most importantly; we have to have a discernment between the fear of the Devil and the fear of God, because they are two categorically different things.

Yes exactly, the flesh is weak but the spirit is strong and willing to serve God. It will always have a constant battle between the flesh and spirit. we can't sin in the spirit that has the desire to do godly things of God. The outer man won't be sinless, so we need to walk in faith and not by sight.

I have listened to Corey about a year and he defends the true gospel of grace and eternal security. Also what he teaches about discipleship is biblical. God doesn't save us to sit on our butt. What do you think about the idea of the last day being when we get saved? That entering his 7th day sabbath rest isnwhat happens when we believe. Colossians 3:1 kjv "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God." Colossians 2:12 kjv "Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead." The bible seems to put it in present tense about being risen with him. So maybe weve (as believers) have been risen up because we are in the last day.

It’s not so much what Don and them are saying but the spirit behind it causing Christians to think a certain way. Most people will pass on being disciples which isn’t a prerequisite for salvation but the message we should encourage is for people to walk with God and live out his will for their lives. Jesus made the first move and died for your sins, he doesn’t expect repayment but what does his sacrifice mean for you? That’s the message we need to feed young believers, like Corey said we’re fighting the wrong fight. It saddens me that don didn’t even feel comfortable calling him brother at the end, like he’s convinced he isn’t saved, all these talks do is cause contention and fuel our pride.

If this is the case then isn’t it hypocritical for Paul to kick sinners out of the church? And he tells us “do not associate with anyone or even eat with such a one” who calls themselves a brother but is a sinner (he gives a long list of all the types of sinners).

It’s not based on grace through faith alone, justification (imputed righteousness of Christ) sanctification (the purging of sin through the power of the Holy Ghost). “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law (WORKS), then Christ is dead in vain.” Galatians 2: 21

Yes, praise God 4 our perfect advocate! I think it's good to realize that the apostles knew whenever they addressed the church, they were addressing both sheep & goats. We are born again, so now we are conflicted for the rest of this current age. Unbelievers have no such conflict, but instead live in ongoing sin, a believer b/c we are born of seed imperishable cannot go on living in sin. We cannot go on living perfectly 4 God w/o sin b/c we also have the flesh...4 now.

Do you understand it was written in greeak and if you want a deeper understanding or confused about something you go to the language cause some things are not as clear in English than it might be in hebrew or Greek. The language doesn't always translate as smoothly as you might think. So our Bible are commentaries. Using dynamic explication , and formal when it can. And the king james I have it but its archaic. Great translation but there is I would say better translation out there there's some mistakes in the king James or just better ways to explain somethings and if you don't know greek or been diving in all of the older manuscripts that have been found its hard to point out theses things or can lead to a misunderstanding. Just to let you know most bible most 98%-98.5% accurate and the minutely discrepancies our not doctrine.

@Eric Senecal yes he has preserved his word and the king james is great what I'm saying is the English language has changed and there is better ways to get a point across with more modern terminologies. I have at least 10 different bible and some verses are better said in the king James and others in others. I use them all and I study who was the writing to, the context in what's being said and what was going on in the culture to get a better understanding. Like I said there is no doctrinal change just like a word here and there which doesn't affect doctrine same with manuscripts

Many Lordship salvation teachers believe that believers do not have two natures. But Bible is very clear on this. You can't be victorious in the Christian life without understanding this nature.

@@jesussfarmer well what about people who've been severely traumatized by parents or had severe depression and committed suicide but still sinned? Believed but never got prayers answered or healed? All those deeds are works aren't they? Not just believing on Jesus and saved through grace by faith. I don't believe God is a father who would throw his children into fire that he loves as children because they signed. Wasn't that why he sent Jesus because he knew we'd always sin in the flesh?

But that didn’t stop Paul from kicking you out of the Corinthian church if you sinned.
