4:10 What's going on can anyone explain?
@KinGembuL
@KinGembuL 2 года назад
It’s called “en passant”. It’s a rule of chess where if the pawn make the first double square moves and there’s a opponent pawn in 5th rank( column 5 for white and column 4 for black) opposition could take the pawn as it only move 1 square. With condition: 1. En passant could only occur *after* the double pawn moves happen, so if white double move pawn but black don’t take it but making another move, then black lost the privileged to do en passant. 2. Opponent pawn need to be exact in 5th rank and besides en passant pawn, e.g if there’s black pawn in b4 and white do move pawn to c4, then black have the privilege to do bxc3 as the pawn only make one square moves. 3. If the en passant occur and open a check for the given privileges, the en passant is invalid. If you still don’t understand with my explanation, you could google en passant and there’s wikipedia for it.

@@dondorcha5896 i think im not make my self clearer. I mean why trade 2 knight for a queen, when there’s a chance to trade a queen with knight and rook?
@dondorcha5896
@dondorcha5896 2 года назад
@@KinGembuL I believe after W-Qxa8,B-Nce2+,W-Kh2,B-Rxa8,W-Bxd4,B-Nxd4 and if W-Bxa8??then Black would play c6 trapping White's Bishop. At the end of this variation if White were to go in for the exchanges but keep the bishop Black would have a a dominant position blockading the weakened and backwards d3 pawn, would be about to hunt down the a3 pawn and White's king would be exposed. It would be a fairly simple position to play as a GM. I think White had no choice but to eliminate the dominating knights and hope that the imbalance left would be enough to hustle the time of his opponent. White has a choice to defend the a3 pawn or the d3 pawn, he will struggle to do both. He also needs to be mindful of his undefended f4 pawn, in truth White's position would completely collapse in that variation.
