Do you know the name of any other peasant girl from medieval time who crown a king and inspired whole army 🤔 ? Yeeees she burn, but what a pre-burning life !
You can say that again. Take for example Curious Gesar, the only thing he did was discover Albion and all he got in return was an assassination by his rivals, just like in our world I suppose.
@@user-yn8gu5fi5s heh then the movie black sheep would give you and your dad a chuckle though the wool would give you guys a profit margin for trade making it all worth while.
Actually, Joan was never burned at the stake for Hersey, mostly because they couldn't make the charge stake due to how she answered. So they burned her at the stake for wearing men's clothing instead.
Last time I did a campaign with her (a Vortex mind you), after I cleansed the whole Araby of every single undead (and rats) present and settled at Settra's (heh) capital, I decided to go full Deus Vult on high elves, because I figured the pointy ears were rich and I wasn't. Turns out the IA Malekith had the same idea, so we actually divided Ulthuan in two before making peace and we went on eradicating the lizards instead. At this point I was rocking four armies entirely full of Grails Knights and Guardian, while Repanse was carrying the Sword of Khaine. And no, Repanse isn't bothered by a sword that incite mindless carnage. She can't hear it over her Lady asking pretty much the same.
In my campaign I had to crusade Into lustria to wipe out Queek who had confederate Ikit and Skrolk (and why not take out Lokir and the Vampire Counts along the way.) And then with my buddy lizards I went to war with both the dark elves and the high elves at the same time and led a massive crusade north.
@@tadferd4340 Repanse talking to the sword - "oh muh gawd Khaine I can't wait to tell you about my day, so first..." Sword of Khaine - "Please someone take me away! Throw me into the ocean, make the voices stop!"
RdL: “Alright peasants, time to join the campaign!” P: “Who are you then?” RdL: “I am Repanse de Lyonesse, you new duke!” P: “I didn’t vote for ye” *deus vult intensifies*
Listen here. Strange women lying in ponds, distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not some farcial aquatic ceremony.
Your version of her tale sounds awesome. It has everything. Mugged a Knight, horsejacking, horse intimidation, the Elderly expiring by her sheer presence confirming their obsolescent. And plowing, she runs over a few people too.
@@sandrothenecromancer6810 excuse me, but, even though the germans did a shitton of propaganda.. i'm pretty sure the brits were the ones to perfect it.
At the time of Joan of Arc, England was a nascent identity. The English were pretty much a powerful French faction in rebellion. So Bretonnia having lots of French influence makes more sense than it might seem at first glance.
Pretty much, yeah. The Hundred Years war was less a war between nations than it was a long series of violent bickering and power play between related ruling houses and dynasties. Frankly most of the wars in medieval Europe were that.
@@Khenfu_Cake Not like "nations" in any modern meaning existed yet anyway. The HYW did more or less kickstart the early developement of separate "French" and "English" identities though, both because the ruling classes of the regions started seeing themselves as distinct from each other over the course of the whole mess and due to the practical geopolitical fact that by the end the English had been conclusively kicked off the Continent and were thus free to sink into total island mentality without distractions. (Technically they hung on to Calais for about a century longer, mostly because neither the French nor the Burgundians could be arsed to finish off that toehold, but same difference.)
You guys do realize that Brittany, populated by Bretons, is a place in France? Brettonia is not based off England at all. You know what is loosely based off England? The Isles of Albion. Albion comes from the ancient Greek word for the British Isles.
I just started playing the game and chose Repanse for my first campaign. As it is my first time playing the game I came to this video expecting a guide on army composition, buildings to get and such. This was so much better, really good video, off to watch some for the other lords.
At the end of the day you can learn strategy from anyone. But getting an idea of the personalities involved is so much more fun. It makes the world seem richer.
@@codybonds agreed, the only reason that kept me playing World of Warcraft for 10 years was the lore, really excited to get into and learn about Warhammer lore now.
I am reminded of that meme where you have an image of American soldiers working together to lift a log set next to an image of a Russian woman carrying a log by herself.
Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden! Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter! Spear shall be shaken, shield be splintered, a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises! Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!
Hey, I love KFC mixer bowls! I'm a real American, I eat my food like a cross between a flea beaten frontiersman, a scurvy ridden "privateer", and a guest at an esteemed United States Correctional facility. Mashed up, stuffed into a single plate, and about as nutritionally viable as that plate! You've changed man, forgotten the Naggarond in your blood. Spent too much damn time French frying corpses with Joan de Barbeque for this video.
Britonnia comes from Bretagne, a French region, and as for the foreign invaders from the north, we've had our fair share of Vikings invasion in the past, so maybe it's a parallel to this and not the 100 years war
*Discovering the latest lords* Oh, an emo than can become a super emo sayian. Sounds fun. And a Rat that played too much Assassin's Creed. I dig it. *Seeing Repanse* ... *Seeing her starting position* WE WILL TAKE KHEMRISALEM ! LADY VULT LADY VULT LADY VULT LADY VULT
Your commentary during these videos is hilarious! That’s a real talent. Can’t stop watching. “The profound shame when their wife opens the pickle jar for them” 😂
Thanks for all of the WH Noob's Guides. Much fun! Please do the other Bretonnian Lords! Consider possibly the Green Knight as a special hero (like Ariel) or The Lady. Thanks!
Thank you for the Super Thanks. If you’ve ever seen my Discord you’ll find Bretonnia is my favorite faction. I keep hoping my Patrons will vote one next - but there are rumors of a paid Bretonnia DLC coming as well.
I gotta admit the missing sword joke was pretty good. On the other hand as much as I like peasant armies I can never seem to get them to work despite all the buffs. They're only good at holding ground for the typical hammer and anvil strategy.
Bingo. A peasant only army isn't viable with Bretonnia. And even then this is really only the first 50 or so turns. After that all armies start to look the same again.
Are you planning on doing a guide of one of the Beastmen's legendaries? I know you've mainly covered the newer ones, but I'd like to hear you talking about one of these guys.
Same word. Same spelling. But I'm English and not French. It's true that's how the Bretonnians say it, but I'm also not a peasant repressing noble who smells faintly of elderberries.
@@codybonds I know it's got the same spelling. It's just also got the same pronunciation in English as it does French. Same deal as 'marquis' being the same in both languages and not 'mar-qwis,' or 'jalapeno' not being 'jalop-ahno.'
@@electricbayonet2 "It's just also got the same pronunciation in English as it does French" Its like saying some words in swedish are pronounced the same as in english. English was formed by mixing germanic, norse and most importantly, FRENCH. The pronounciation that he used is very common in USA.
@@666Kaca Does it just come down to "here's how a lot of people say it" versus "here's how the word is pronounced"? Because if so- -huh. Funky. Even the dictionary-dot-com pronunciation guide lists both versions, but attributes the actual definitions to shuh-vahl-yey. That actually helps clear things up for me.
Thank god you said something I hate it when people pronounce my last name wrong, and it's said the same for all langues you don't get to decide it's different for one.
Knives, poles, thrusting, and putting down roots at a quarter of the cost in half the time....I think this repanse is the Lady of Viagra . Also yes you are not alone with the bullets and shotgun childhood. Over here that's standard.
she is a beast of a lord I would average around 400 kills and go as high as 660 kills with her during fights. Perfect vigor and insane stat line is nuts man. The only reason I didn’t get more kills is cuz the enemy brakes and runs.
I was surprised your channel was so small when I discovered it. I honestly think if your branched out your content you could get a lot bigger on this platform

I had to watch this twice because as soon as that Medieval 2 soundtrack kicked in, that I somehow Still Remember by heart, I couldn't pay attention to word you said. Still the best soundtrack CA have ever made.
Lol I love this guide it made me piss myself laughing. Shes by far my favourite general in game though. I dont care that she doesnt get a flying mount and starts with a random small crap settlement she rocks ;)
I've been binge playing Warhammer 2, but hearing the Medieval 2 music, oh god, it's like an old lover calling to me. Cody, what have you done to me??!!
