I love when he calls people by what they are in jokes.. "Look other nuclear professors" "Well, dentist".. nobody else does that, and for some reason it cracks me up..

Mitch was a legend. Some of the funniest stand up ive heard. Alot of it you would think was nonsense but his delivery and style worked so well with the material

RIP Norm!!! I had this live at the improv DVD like 20 years ago. Found it in a DVD bargain bin and it was worth every penny just for Norm’s segment. I put it in anytime I had people over drinking and we’d laugh our asses off. I was amazed to find it after hearing of Norm’s passing….Loved you on Weekend Update, and everything else you did!!! Rest easy my man.
Theres a video up here on RU-vid where he drinks Whiskey with Tom Green. And sometimes he says he never drank, then sometimes he says he drank only twice in his life when he was 17 eventhogh he drank with Tom Green. So I don't think we will every know if he truly is a drinker or not, because he is never serious and never answers questions seriously.
@Proudnewfoundlander1 A lot of the filmed segments from 80s standup that weren't performed for HBO were from The Improv, a comedy club where the brick wall is the stage backing.
@ 4:24 when norm does his 'old guy' impersonation, the face he makes actually looks ALOT like his face does now that he's actually older. i always found that to be incredibly ironic ha
Norm was OK then but he's much funnier now. That's the mark of great comedians: they work and continue to improve. George Carlin and Rodney Dangerfield are two more examples of this.
Does anybody know if the bit he does about dogs is posted? He talks about going to a pet store where the owner tries to sell him a six-hundred-dollar pit bull to protect his stuff. "If I had a six-hundred-dollar pit bull, it'd be the most valuable thing I own," he says. "Show me your bin of dogs, I said to the guy." That's a line worth repeating.
LOL. 3:32-3:38 LOL!! I was just smiling thru the whole routine til he said that! "I'll never forget it....I may forget it who the hell knows..." People don't get Norm cuz he doesn't explain his jokes like George Carlin, but it's the same stuff...George Carlin would have inlcuded that in his stupid stuff people say "I'll never forget that" or "that's all I know." But Norm just assumes you'll get what he's doing. So funny.
