I am a single working woman and have many such single female friends. I absolutely am against giving any free time to insanely rich corporates. I always say ki ye kaunsa hame apne jaydad dekar jaa rahe hai jo inke liye apna time kharab kare. We are far more conscious about our time - because we focus on ourselves - exercise, walk, travel, reading, watching TV, cooking. Married women have to take care of their families but single women also have to take care of themselves, their finances etc. - hume to sab kaam khud karne hote hai..
The only sector that has silently been working for 80+ hours a day is the medical sector. And no one speaks about it. I’ve lost 4-5 of my seniors to suicide & mental illness. People are quitting such fields every other day after joining just to save their lives despite working extremely hard towards their dreams. Our personal lives are screwed. Body & mind are severely stressed. Resident doctors & nurses are already half dead & I don’t think any other sector needs to fall into this toxic work culture & suffer.

Corporates and governments haven't considered the daily travel time duration to office and back home, so assuming it takes 1 hour to reach office and another 1 hour to reach back home under normal traffic conditions, then for majority of the people, 8 hours of work actually ends up becoming 10 hours, then in case of any meetings or work extension due to workload, then the time spent in working goes upto 12-13 hours, so what really needs to happen is to actually reduce the normal 8 hours to 6 hours of work and then add 2 hours as the daily travelling time, then work life balance maybe achieved and job satisfaction will be there. We must normalise working less and never more or hard. Period.😎😎😎

In the country, there is not much work, but there is still a lot of pending work for the country. Therefore, it is the duty of the politicians to work for at least 84 hours, or even more. They should have so little free time that they don't even have time to groom themselves or look at their reflection in the mirror. Only then will there be growth, because the real change in the country is being brought by these politicians na. So, it is common sense that those who have greater responsibility should work with more dedication and dedicate their lives in the service of the nation because they have chosen to do the same.

I know many mothers who are desperate for part time jobs or jobs with flexible work hours so they can use their education and also devote time to their kids. All they get is scam offers and Multi level marketing work. The fact is we have such a huge population and workers are a dime a dozen. They can be exploited easily and made to work 100 hours and they will do it. Why will a company hire a 36 year old mother when they can hire a 26 year old willing to work 10 hours a day? Another problem is that in India nobody really cares about work quality. Even foreign companies hire Indians only for low skilled, low quality work. When quality doesn’t matter only quantity matters.
Yes thats right, I will work 84 hours if i am the owner, Employee should work like an employee as he will get componsation only like an employee, Owner must work like an owner with no time limit. Work for a private company for years work for even 100 hours, once become less productive in a quarter due to any ressons same comapany would not think twice before fire. An an employee should not get emotional attach with the company, Once leave or kicked out no would call or contact. Give you only 100% not more than that.

Obviously sir ,i am from mandi and i have lived here a life which is enjoyable.we work hard at a time and next time we also relax.There is sukoon in Himachal.There is not any hectic work culture but i feel this type of politicians will disrupt the system of peace and work culture there also.

Sahi baat hai therav zaroori hai zindagi main….kaam itna karo ki life ke dusre sare aspect ke liye time rahe… aaram se khana khana, exercise, outing, spending time with friends and family, proper sleep, time for hobbies and passion and me time…. Also time for enjoying nature and observing changing seasons… if someone works overtime and excessive usko retirement pe pata chalega ki usne kya miss kiya apna bank balance, status badhane ke chakkar main aur kaab zindagi khatam ho gayi… roz check karo ki upar ke list main se kuch kiya ya miss kiya… otherwise one is a zombie….i am not against working but uska limit hota hai… rather then focusing on no of hours one must focus on productivity…there is a difference between looking busy and being busy…. Look like one is working vs being productive

My company is an MNC and has offices around the world including Germany and India. Our cfo said we got more product innovation from our German office where they work 40 hrs max while the Indian office does 80+ hours with many chai sutta breaks and does mostly support work.
My wife working for Infosys, in guise of wfh company has not set any login or logoff timing and sometimes meetings extend till late in night 10 to 11pm, meeting after meetings after meetings. But getting paid meagre salary for 8 hrs only.

Sad reality is that employees (whether in private or govt sector) want promotion so that they have to work less and get more salary...for instance, an executive in corporate sector wants to be a manager so that he/she have to work less and get more salary...and this has become the mentality of every working personnel, and is the root cause of corruption

No one is going to bat (specially people in power) for middle class as we are very small in number as compared to poor people votes in this country. The government is smart and has now understood this and is going to keep on milking it(through taxes) till we have juice to survive only.
When you are working on your own venture or being paid top 1% across the job markets. Working that much would obviously make sense as you have been rewarded for it. Why would even a middle level employee sacrifice his life for a dismal pay and to be laid off any moment.
guruji, there are not just two entities - India that is Bharath, but there are many nations within the geography...those who profess 72 and 84 hours of work week are in their own world. some people are busy trying to find a way to get out of here. some others are hopeful of a defense job. some others are hopeful of a pensionable government job (railways, teaching, postal etc.,) some others are trying to create fake startups and fly by night (i.e. escape.) some others are wanting to expand their rental franchise income stream. some others are waiting for MSP. some others are trying to get employed somehow or the other somewhere or the other to keep the lamp burning. etc., etc., IMHO very few have realized the disruption that tech is going to bring not only to India but the world. free basic income aside, there will come times when it will be a challenge to address emotional and psychological needs of people that cannot be satisfied with free basic income. AI is an arms race. if any country creates a legislation against it, then there will be 10 others to welcome the exodus resultant. tricky times ahead.
Work hour regulation which is enforced in many countries especially western is the way to be...those people have better health and have hobbies and life..I dread to think that the only thing my kids will do in this country is slog...overtime abroad are handsomely paid
First Thing First There Should be Infrastructure in Place to Support employees .. The irony is that Companies are increasing employees productivity by offering them 04 Days week and now we are moving in just opposite direction..

Human and human labour will be discarded, belittled and even ridiculed as automated machine outout is easier.. Volume of Number of hours does not make sense at all and hence global inequality criticism is rising.. few people can be extremely be productive and can displace massive amounts of workforce.. Kaliyug has been warned .. Kalk era trends are obvous Automation/Deeplearning/ Artificial Intelligence/Machine learning and quantun computing. CA's /accountants/designers/architect can all be replaced with simple AI algorithms and few people...
