Tales from the Norse Legends
by Edward Ferrie (Author), Benjamin Soames (Narrator)
The tales of the Norse gods, of the giants, demons, trolls and dwarves, still have the power to fascinate more than a thousand years after they were first told. Here are the stories of the one-eyed god Odin, the all-seeing, who from his throne in Asgard the home of the gods, has to prepare for Ragnarok, the final conflict between good and evil. There are tales too of Tyr the god of war, of the cunning Loki, of Thor the mighty thunder god and a host of others. These retellings of the old tales are given extra dramatic perspective by the music of Mahler, Greig, Smetana, They come to life as never before.

To say the name of Idunn. In Icelandic, the name is spelled Iðunn with the letter ð pronounced like thr sound of "th". The main sound is the first letter and the rest is softer. There are sounds in my language (Icelandic) that I can't explain in writing, but we have slightly different sounds for the letters "i" and "u" than in english. Hope you will try to find out from other sources. The norse mythology is the first religion the Icelandic people had and is still in practice today, we still have an Allsherjargoði (like the pope in catholicism). We are the only people that can still read the ancient eddas/sagas and original stories of the gods, and the language hasn't even changed much since then.

What I could never understand about this story is the logic - IF the Aesir are destined to DIE @ Ragnarök then how is it possible they could die from NOT eating Idunn's Apples?

@GrandTheftFreedom Actually that's not true. The Forbidden Fruit of Knowledge of Eden where never identified as apples, that's just been a popular depiction in art and pop culture. Nowhere in Judeo Christian texts are they ever identified as being apples. If anything they are closer to Eris' golden apples from Greek Mythology.
