Why not use a couple layers of fiberglass then some tiger hair with a final smoothing with bondo. It would be a much stronger repair and save some weight with all that bondo.

I hope you can make more videos about aircraft systems too.

So did your I/A boss teach you how to clean fiberglass before you apply a repair? because you clearly did not prep the glass right to apply the back patch . In fact there is no indication you even sanded it. Cleaner alone wont keep the bond of the new glass to the old glass. you have to break the surface of the old resin to allow the new resin to etch it and bond to it. . It will peal off. Then Who taught you to use BONDO on fiberglass? Bondo does not stick to fiberglass. They have two different thermal expansion rates. In less than a year it will crack everywhere . There is several special fiberglass fillers that do the same thing as Bondo but are for use on fiberglass. Not to be confused with fiberglass reinforced Bondo. Fiberglas reinforced filler is Bondo with fiberglass matting hair in it to give it body. like wire mesh does to stucco. Bondo does not stick to fiberglass but in that case it is ok because it is being used inside of the Bondo as a mesh .when you refinish surface of fiberglass, You do use filler , as with metal. but you must use fiberglass filler designed to match the thermal expansion rates of the fiberglass and designed to adhere to the resins of fiberglass. Bondo resin is not same as the resin of fiberglass, the Bondo resin will not etch into the fiberglass . You should use Dyna glass, Vett Bond filler, 3m46006 , evercoat 27, TotalBoat Polyester Structural Repair Putty, etc. these are all good fiberglass fillers to use for fiberglass .
