After 30 years in H&S (yes everyone’s favourite person) and I agree that hazard lights should only be used when reversing/manoeuvring. Otherwise everyone simply gets complacent and your hazard lights stand for nothing. Good, honest review as always Deady.👍
Hey, Deady. I just wanna thank you for putting these up. I was debating going for my Class-2 (Not sure I'd be confident in a Class-1 fresh off the boat), and watching these videos have convinced me to go for it. So thanks for that! Keep up the great work.
Well Im going for the class1 come new year. Doing my cpc and theory ect.. done my 1st cpc day Friday there and one of the instructors was saying the cost of going right off for my class 1 bypassing class2 will be around the same ie doing class1 and class2 together.. That shock me as I drive bus/coaches bigger than class2s. So we shall see .. I could knock the idea on the head if that's the case as that's a piss take.
Id seriously consider doing your class 2 first and getting at least 12 months under your belt as class 2 before doing your class 1. Otherwise might find it difficult getting any work as newly passed class 1 with no experience. Good luck anyhow👍🏼
I worked for worthingtons for 3 months when I left the army, absolutely horrific firm. The reason they have all those flash scanias is what they pay the drivers.
Nice video Deady. Like your tacho explanation, very helpful. Found out too that error 50 in the tacho means my ugly face wasn’t the last thing I saw when the card went in.
Great Vlog Deady, I agree with you about the hazards being on when not making a maneuver, I can only assume the yardmen use it as an indicator to which trucks they need to deal with, and those that are completed. 👍

Class 2 module 3 is booked for Monday, I'm really excited to get on the roads properly if I pass 😂😂. Been doing my training in a 12 tonne daf with a daft gearbox.

On agency myself, passed 2 months ago, fits in perfect for my lifestyle, work when you want, money’s not bad either 😉 settled with the same company (Clipper) each week, box trailers trunking, simple trailer swap similar to what you’ve been doing at Hermes. Then always got the option to do different stuff to get other experience. Love the 4-6 hour shifts and still being paid for 8. What’s not to love about being on agency?? Keep it up 💪🏼
It baffles me when I was delivering in pedestrianised areas and was told to keep my hazards on. I found when I was driving slowly through people walked towards the middle of the truck because they were confused weather I was turning left or right. As for the security guard same thing every day for him.

for those new as agency drivers etc if on umbrella you will have already been paid your holiday pay unless you have asked agency to withold your holiday pay until you take your holiday days etc and usually january and february can be quiet months as an agency driver if just 7.5t although during a driver shortage jan and feb may be busier than previous years
Never driven a new generation scania, would love too. But the volvo smashes the merc all day. Agree with the hazards, culina actually use the way that you mentioned, only to use them when doing a maneuver. That way everyone knows the score 👌
@@jasonantigua6825 mercs seats are Rocky as hell, never grip when even slightly damp and is always thinking about the gear when wanting to pull out of roundabouts and junctions. Might be just culina that has rubbish ones 😂

Just finished doing palletways trunk from Poole to Lichfield, we'd get up there for 11pm and sometimes not leave until 5am. Think they leave the driver's having to go the furthest having in the parking area's.

I think technically hazard lights should only be used if you have broken down! Having said that,I always find myself using them when in depots/yards etc
when they ask you to keep hazard light lights on it means site does not meet safety requarements: primary reason is to show you came with peace (no war intentions)from preventing pedestrians stomp on your vehicle trucs parked where they should not be there is less room to reverse on bay than you actualy need in HGV high chace of braking your brain down while trying figure out safety pins and locks for airlines so they could finaly hold you on bay for 3 hours and you could not escape and last, so everybody could find you easy so they could came and swear at you saying you can not park here
You’re gonna need the patience of a saint working for them cowboys. I’ve been driving 30 years and akw were the worst tyrants I ever had the misfortune to come across. Nice as pie for a few weeks and then slowly drag you down. You can honestly do better than them.

Hi Deady, use to do palletline in Brumy amongst other hubs for my previous employer. For the record the way palletline do this is awful in every way. TPN do it so much better imo, free meal too.
Nightmare round airport now mate road works and changes everywhere. Got to say I prefer volvos over scanias but I drive ridged tippers so maybe class 1s are different. Take care buddy

Hey deady how r u where u went to was the main palletline depo on Starley way something I use to do every night but rather than just driving like u did I had to both load and unload at my depo. AKW also use to be part of the palletline depo which was known as the Manchester hub but they lost the contract so it now moved to Haydock. The palletline depo was always busy especially on a Thursday so don't expect to be done early just be surprised if u do take it easy mate and keep on trucking

not been to pallet line but imo hubs in the Birmingham area go from good to bad in this order: Hazchem network > APC > Pallet track > pallet ways > TPN watch out for the guy with the pink/green pony tail at pallet track central and pallet ways and TPN are both scummy thank god I'm on events now and left that world behind
Hazard warning lights should only be used when vehicle is standing or to warn people behind you on a motorway that traffic is at a standstill in front. Not my opinion Deady but that of the Highway Code
Passed all three theory test yesterday • multiple choice ✅ • Hazard perception ✅ • CPC case studies ✅ Time for mod 4 then my practical, hopefully from 15th nov the law changes where drivers can go straight to class 1.

@@adventurewithlee it's alright, some stores can be tight to get into, but there is a rule that every store has to send someone out to watch your back. When offloading, your not mithered, just do it as fast as you can. I start at 5.30am and I'm done for 3.30-4pm, Easy.
I get what youre saying but from my point of view (and after doing security in a warehouse / gatehouse for 2 years) if youre walking in the yard and you see a vehicle with hazard lights on then youre aware that the person driving that might not see you and could move at any time. From my perspective as a previous security guard that used to check the yard on patrols I always took the hazard lights as "they could move at any stage". Not every guard would read it as that and Ive worked with some half-sharp guards. You dont fuck with a truck and its not purely your responsibility as a driver to keep others safe, if Im in the yard its my job too. Might seem stupid but to be fair if your lights are not flashing then youre parked and youre not moving. Just my take on it. Im not even a trucker but like watching your videos.
Never looked at it from that angle & it makes perfect sense. My only dispute on that is, there is dedicated walk ways around yards. But from a pedestrians point of view, i see what you mean! Thanks man!
