The Ariya is a good looking car Mark but like most of them, the price is too high and if you do lots of motorway and public charging, the running costs may turn out higher than you imagined.

The fact that the ePower qashqai doesn't come as a PHEV is disappointing The fact that the ePower engine was in the Note in Japan since 2016 is even more disappointing. The fact that without a B segment EV the Aryia shows that Nissan gave up on the Leading Environmentally-friendly Affordable Family-car is most disappointing. In other news exCEO Carlos Ghosn is actually going to sue Nissan

Real world efficiency is much higher than suggested on video. 200 mile motorway journey at 70 mph averaging 3.1 mpkwh. On my usual commute (40 mile round trip A & B roads) average 3.8mpkwh. it is all about how you drive it. Overnight charging at 7p per kwh and you get cheap motoring (note my car through work salary sacrifice scheme).

I went with the Qashqai, simply because I don’t have offstreet parking. I think the Renault shares the same platform, and electrics. So I am surprised you find a big difference, between them. Having said that the Aryia did come second in a range test to Tesla model Y. Averaging over 3kw hrs in the test I saw, which was mostly motorway driving. The test included BMW and VW and two other makes I can’t remember. So it was definitely a good car, with good range.

The Nissan Ariya evolve stays locked while stored in our garage. How can we disable locked doors when the car is stored in our garage?, This feature Is very inconvenient. If I forget to take an item out of my car before going into the house I must have a key to open it when I go into the garage. 😮😢. Seems like we need to be changed to our keys

No your wrong it’s a sunroof or moon roof as it opens over the driver , a glass as seen in many evs roofs doesn’t

Typical egg shaped sloped roof clone drone EV . All makes come out of wind tunnel tests with the same design conclusion to preserve battery life. Hence boot space sacrificed for the sake of aerodynamics
