This video is all about how I get my illustrations to look good everywhere, with a focus on color accuracy and my Procreate to Photoshop workflow. Thank you. I needed that info. Not sure if you are aware but If you are using iPad there is a feature to see where your pen point is. Wrench tool (Actions)/ Prefs/ Brush cursor. Hope that helps.

nice info, thankyou. I found using a color calibration device allows me to calibrate the monitor and the printer. I use colormunki (but I think it may not be made anymore).

I think there's a setting to show the brush in the pro create settings so if you wanted to use the ipad connected to your monitor, it should be easier with that option switched on :)

Depending on your art, you might have to experiment a bit with printing 👍🏼till you get the right one ..

Hi Asia! Thank you so much for your videos... I have the same printer and I use the same color profiles and settings but I have a lot of problems with printing with the correct colors. I realized that some colors are marked as out of gamut colors... do you check this point? I see that you correct the curves on the image, it is for correct the levels ratio¿ Thank you! :)

Huh, I never knew that True Tone could mess up the colors. For me I always have to be careful about the night shader which I have on my iPad and PC and I have to remind myself to check that it’s off if I’m drawing late. There’s nothing worse working in that mode by mistake and all of a sudden your colors are completely off! I know when I work on my PC I had issues with my monitor and drawing tablet monitor displaying colors differently. My tablet would be more vibrant and saturated where my regular monitor was more crisp and more accurate. I had to play around with the settings of both and did a windows color calibration to match them up. It helped greatly because I was having issues with red tones. They also sell monitor color calibrators you can buy online, but they’re a bit pricey. Thank you for sharing this video, color is so important when working digitally.

Great that the tip helped. We have so many screens surrounding us today, and so many different devices that's a bit complicated to get the color right, without the right tools. True tone is great, but I have it off not to mess up with my white balance, and I tried windows calibration and it was awful in my experience :( super glad you found the video interesting :)

Create the file in CMYK, then you can change the color profile to RGB in Photoshop. If you do it the other way around, the colors get really funky.

Hi Asia! Always interesting and helpful watching your videos as an emergent illustrator! I've started using Procreate for quite some months now (and I love it!), and I'm still wondering, how can you work on big sizes with so little layers?? I've seen your illustrations and they're quite elaborate, so how do you manage the layers? When I had to work for a contest poster I only had 6 layers and I couldn't do it, also happened that the app crashed few times..and in the end I had to do it on my laptop with graphic tablet :( Thank you for your time!!

Hi Mel 👋 thank you so much for your nice words. Procreate uses the iPad’s RAM, the amount of layers will vary depending on how much your has, for big sizes in high DPIs. I just got the 2020 iPad Pro, and this new one has more RAM, I can go up to more layers now, and it’s more stable. But I already got used to work with 6 layers :) for sure next year’s iPad will have more RAM :)

Hey! Thank you so much for the video, your illustrations are amazing as always :) I have a question though, maybe someone could help me with it. As I understand the CMYK and RGB thing, the RGB palette is just wider, but still includes all the CMYK colors, right? So, if working with CMYK, you’ll get no color change surprises when switching to RGB, am I right? And what if you work in CMYK and post it online without switching to RGB, will it still look the same? Thank you! ❤️

Hi, thank you so much for the nice words :) you will for sure loose some colors if you don't convert, but In my experience is not that much that you can actually see a drastic change in your artwork, unless you have a really limited color selection. My advice, always transform and adapt, so you can predict and adjust your work if the changes are too visible .. :) hope it helps!

Thanks for this vid! Procreate has now additional cmyk option and I’m confuse on what to choose for printing lol. Do you happen to know what’s the best option for printing? In addition do I need photoshop to enhance my procreate art with cmyk color already? I only want to produce the best for my buyers. Tia

Que bien que sea de ayuda! La pantalla de mi ordenador es súper saturada y los colores son muy vibrantes, como toda pantalla Dell. Igualmente antes de postear testeaba los colores en todas las pantallas de la casa. Este monitor me viene genial :)

your vids are always the most helpful so thank you for that! just wondering- sometimes when i print a borderless work, my print should fit within the confines of the canvas size but the printer will cut off a bit. is there any way to ensure the size is printing correctly? i have the same printer as you

Hi Claire, thank you so much. I do the same, borderless printing, and it always takes a tiny bit of the illustration, but for me it's so little that I cant even tell with the naked eye, what you don't suppose to have is white borders .. hope it helps

Hey 🙂 my advice is always to just ask your client how they want the work to be delivered, it’s always the safest way when it comes to client work (and JPG it’s not usually the way to go)

Im curious, hope you respond, but what i want to do is print out pencil drawings to sell. I want to make copies of the original. After i take a picture and edit it through procreate, do i still have to transfer it to photoshop to do more adjustments? Or can i just print it out straight from procreate because im not dealing with colors, simply black and grey art? What do you recommend

Hi, you can do either way. Take a good picture and use Procreate to finish it. Just make sure the canvas you create is good enough for the prints you want to create. Hope it helps

In the print settings do you put matte photo paper? or plain paper? In the color options section, do you configure any? or do you leave everything as is? THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ANSWERING ME ^^

The CMYK feature on procreate is a complete lie though. It's not a real CMYK and the colors don't print accurately at all 😞

I think it’s not just Procreate, there’s are a lot of factors between what you see on the screen of the iPad and the actual print. Can be the color calibration on the iPad, or screen you are using, or the profile on the printer. So many things. Either way, it’s always going to be closer than RGB, and most of the time at least for my personal work, I can hardly tell the difference 😊 - for professional work, the printing is being done by professionals 👍 so far all my work in CMYK on procreate was on point color wise
