Wow he places the ball with such incredible pace and ease. I know he's the best player in the world but it's amazing to see it from this perspective. Thanks for uploading!!!
Nice video. Never before have I notice that Novak has such a nice contact, so easy power. I always though he needed to use more force but that looked really really good.
They werent trying to play the points out. The guy didnt try to make the second ball most of the time. He was just practicing his first ball of the return.
is it Guillaume Rufin practicing with Novak? I think it is. This player had a pretty nice game and was improving nicely in 2012, he disappeared since...
I just have to wonder. What do his coaches actually tell him? They walk up to him several times in this video and talk to him with a facial expression that makes it look like he's doing something wrong. He's the number 1 in the world and one of the most accomplished players ever, what could anyone have to say to him? I'm always so curious about that
I think the coaches for the top ATP players don't teach them the specific mechanics, but how to play the point. Watching a point play out on the sidelines is very different from what the player sees. So the coaches might say like be more aggressive on the backhand side or like change up the pace on the 3rd ball. That's my speculation, anyway. :P
+rubikswu Well yes I never guessed the pro players needed help swinging their rackets, even I'm past that. Most of the insight my coach gives me is how to play the point, yes, but there's obviously such a HUGE gap between me and Djokovic, that just watching him play makes me feel like he doesn't need any help at all anymore. But you're probably right :P
I think his coach boris is like "hey Djokovic you're doing great, keep doing what you're doing and don't forget to pay my $1million salary check next week"
That skill gap doesn't necessarily mean his coaches don't fulfill the same role. Remember, his opponents and your opponents have as great a skill gap, and with that comes a greater strategic ability and more well defined playstyles / strengths or even weaknesses. And even the tiniest kinks in their game matter so much more than the tiniest in yours. So yeah.
Wish there were more clay matches between Djoker and Fed. Hard to determine who is second best on clay. They each have one RG title but Djoker has won Rome five times
I don't think so, he is such a wonderful player but he lacks magic in his game in comparison with Federer for example that he already is considered as The Goat.
Not bad.... It looks like the strings & racquet of djokovic gives him tremendous 'pop'.... That wd explain the effortless power of his shots.... However he also has speed from his waist up.... But particularly in this video u can notice the huge difference the racquet & strings can make to ur game! 😮
hahaha his racquet has a swing weight of 370+, it does give u some insane plow thru plus he string with gut and alu power. I am always amuse at how easy djokovic manage to swing that club 😂😂 probably if i use his racket i can only hit a few good shot before my body giveway with some upperback and shoulder soreness.
I get that you can coach the arguably best player on earth but it's kind of weird man...like how can you coach the best player in the world on certain shots he's hitting, I'd love to be a fly on the wall for convos that happen.
