In this video we explore a way that allows you to import your owned content from DnDBeyond into Obsidian.md! It requires the use of FoundryVTT but provides a way to very quickly port your content from DnDBeyond to FoundryVTT and then to Obsidian.md. The output is full copies of the adventure all formatted and ready for you to polish.

In the past I've simply copy-pasted from D&D Beyond. Then I did a find a replace to fix links and it worked pretty well for me. Any advantage of this method over copy-paste? Thanks for the video!

I quite like the copy and paste method myself as it let's me learn the content so I quite often do the same. The benefit here is it takes about 15mins to have the whole book copied over automatically. Then you should really go through and massage the content by adding a encounters, pin the maps, add the links, etc. If it's a really large module. This might be easier in the long run.

I was hoping this showed how to get DDB windows in obsidian, but it looks like this only works for Foundry VTT users. Title makes it a bit misleading. Is there any way to get DDB sheets into obsidian without foundry VTT?

Just use the Custom Frames plugin with a dndb url. You need to login with Twitch. There's a video on that also.

I tried setting this up today, but the Import Foundry VTT Journal Entries plugin doesn’t appear when I search for it under the community plugins section of Obsidian.

This is an old method. It changed when foundry did an update. What you want to do though is watch my later videos on the CLI process. It's much easier and faster.

Depend on the system. There is support for official pf2e pdfs for example. There is a Foundry plugin that can import a pdf into Foundry.

I noticed that when the I preformed the import, rather than getting a .db file, I'm getting a .ldb file. Could this be due to a different version of Foundry? I am using the same version of the DDB Muncher and Adventure Muncher. I am a newer user to Foundry, and realized that the layout that and display that I'm being shown when using the software is different that what is being shown in the video, hence my suspicious that the newer version uses .ldb

Yeah sadly we have had confirmation that the latest version of foundry changes the data structure. The dev is trying to find a workaround to enable the new versio to import into Obsidian.
