Very informative. I have a question. I recieved my first OCI card in 2013 when I was 58 years. I got a new US Passport (old one expired) in 2021. Do I need to update the OCI portal with the new passport number? No other personal information has changed in the new passport. Thanks

Thank you for the reply which is very helpful. I got my OCI card & "U" visa in 20007 when I was over 50. As I was over 50 when I got my OCI Card, do I need to upload my re-newed ( 2022) pasport & photo in the OCI card. How it can be done on line. Thank you again for suggestions & help & your time.

You have to do it under miscellaneous services in OCI website. You can carry the same OCI card, with updated documents.

Hi, How are you. I have question about new oci rules. One of the rule is if I have oci I can not buy any agriculture land in india. So question is lets say if I do not have oci card but I already got renunciation certificate and got travel Visa. With this I can buy agriculture land in india?

Important subject & well explained. Do I need to do anything at all to my old OCI card as I re-newed my old British passport in 2022. I had OCI card since when it became available in uk( some years ago). Do I need to re-apply or do anything to my Old OCI card. Will I be travel with the old OCI card and renewed British passport? You need to go to OCI Miscellaneous services and update your new passport info and get a printout. I will be making a video on this very soon. You can carry the same OCI card for life, with the approval letter.

when you say renewal of "passport" & OCi card , I think you are meaning Indian passport. what is the rule for British passport holders( foreigners) who has OCI card. Do they need to do anything ( in relation to OCI card) when their British passport is renewed. Thank you for your comments.

When I say renewal of passport here, its foreign (any US/UK/AUS) passport as only then you will be holding an OCI card. Hope that is helpful.

There is an affidavit template provided in document checklist. Please do that and get it notarized per instructions. Hope this is helpful.

You can check with any bank and if they accept it. If your spouse is Indian , they can be the person opening it and add you as well.

Just update the passport details on OCI Miscellenaous part of website and shoudl be enough per new rules, make sure to carry that email confirmation while travel.

Hi I am due to update my passport the last time I done it I was 20 year 23 days in 2013 in 2023 its expirying so I think I need to update my oci when I get my new passport next. I am very confused when I had received my new oci in 2011 the rules were different but now there is a question where I will have to say YES where they ask if any of my parents or grandparents or grandparents is or had been a citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh. For that I have to say yes because my father was born in Pakistan currently British I had got my oci from my mother because she was indian when I got my oci the rule was if any one of the parent is indian we are eligible. So I'm not sure how they will treat me for this would they cancle my oci? Who is the best person to speak to about my situation? Thanks

Yes it is possible to apply for citizenship for oci card holder.but there's a criteria to meet..I read somewhere there should be a stay of continuous 3 years or something like that..I'm sorry for not able to provide the link but it is on govt website

I am an oci holder and holding a valid British passport ( citizenship) and am living in India for last 6 years with my husband who is an Indian citizen and got indian passport ! Will my British citizenship be affected if am living in India with oci card ? Also can I live in India with oci permanent with British citizenship passport? Hope no issues within India or if I travel back to and fro to Uk & India , any immigration issues ? What do I need to carry documents if I plan to visit my friends in UK fir shirt visit from India ? Also can I renew British passport from India as my British passport needs to be renewed in2027 ! I have my OCi card connected with my Brazilian passport ( that is valid until 2028. Last year, I got my British passport. Now I have dual valid citizenship ( brazilian and british ) . I m going to travel to Bharat for the first time after this . I m confused. How it could work. Do I need to renew my OCI and connect my British passport to it. Or should i keep my OCi connected with my brasilian passport and show it in the imigration in Bharat ? Please help me. I m going to travel in two weeks . Thank you for your videos.

Thank you for your support and question. When you go to India, you will enter with Brazilian passport I assume, you can come back and add British citizenship as part of miscellaneous services. You cannot do this in 2 weeks, it will take time

Hello I have a question about OCI. I applied for my OCI card last year as a spouse of an Indian origin. My application has been approved and under process since then. This year my spouse gained US citizenship and he will be renouncing his Indian citizenship. My question is what happens to my OCI ? Is this still valid since it was applied while he was a citizen or do I need to do the entire process again? Again I did not receive my card yet, not sure if I will receive it at all. However, in an event I do I was wondering what would happen to its validity. Additionally, if I need to contact someone for this question, who do I contact? the embassy? Is there an email address or chat facility ? or do I need to call them? Thank you!

Yes sir, there definitely a purpose for that & it wouldn't make any sense to this video posted if any query isn't answered at any point raised by anyone relevant to this video post thoroughly, Actually the mountaineering point is Which includes a mandate as per the tourism requisitions regarding foreigner insurance encumbrances & certain sports authority agendas for all foreign passport holders..that was what we were told when we asked the same question at the OCI regulatory office at Delhi HQtrs..!
