I'm surprised this company doesn't get more attention. Every watch they make is made to extremely high standards, and not to mention very beautiful timepieces!
Yay! At last a reviewer with a decent sized wrist! For some unknown reason most reviewers have wrists well under 7 inches. Excellent detailed review. Subscribing!
There's like no reviews of this watch and hardly any of the company anywhere on the net. I forgot to say thank you for the effort you put into making an in-depth review and a great video! 🙏♥
They build a beautiful watch, no doubt. I have the Seamaster homage and it is stunning. The only thing holding me back from this one is the all polished finish. Total scratch magnet. Great review. 👍🏼
Very helpful review and a beautiful piece! I really appreciate your detail and pacing. The watch is the star of the show and the details you bring to our attention are insightful. Keep up the great work!
Sitting in a half dark room, watching television, you can't see the time on your watch most of the time. Exception is this watch. Nearly always clear vision with the Octopus Kraken. Cracking watch....
Just brought sw200 variant...pretty happy the movement very accurated...+/- 1sec per day...after use few weak i just said the preety big...but thx to lug to lug its passed on my hand wrist...i would said this one no1 homage for fifty fathom
300€ is a San Martin price range and they are IMHO best homage producer. Second the 23mm hard to find straps. The watch is beautiful would be nice if they made it 22mm so you could put mesh with straight end link or a nice water resistant leather strap. The included strap is not something I'd carry on that nice polished case. The crystal is so beautiful making the dial looking like it's convex also. I'd put it back on the drawing table and at least make own proprietary bracelet.
Thank you for watching Aamer. Nothing comes up when I search for "Dulm Watches". See link below, is this the Baltany watch you are referring to? I appreciate the suggestion. I am not interested in reviewing this piece. Regards, #WR4K www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003448994920.html
Awesome reivew and video quality ! Thank you! How would you compare this watch to some non Chinese based brand? On who's level is it? Like a mid range Seiko? Does it feel like a very quality build in person? Btw Plancpain is 23mm as well, I guess that why they went with it
@@watchreviews4k Thanks! I am amazed what this watch offers along with Proxima mm300 and similar for such a price. They look on videos like some 1000eur pieces (not getting into the movements) just by looks
John I thought you liked the bgw9 versus the Green Loom. Which one do you like better? In this video you said you like the green better but in another video I thought you said you like the blue bgw9 better. You are my watch Guru that's why I am asking. Ray
Great review and nice enough watch. However 23mm lug width is bonkers. And.......why oh why do Chinese manufacturers not discuss with someone who actually speaks English before deciding on a name for the watch or company.
Blancpain means white bread, so compared to that Octopus Kraken isn't such a bad name for a dive watch, is it? I mean, we have all got used to Jaeger Le Coultre or Greubel Forsey but when you think about it they are as stupid as Octopus Kraken aren't they? (And who knows what those names mean in Mandarin or in Thai.)
You say (several times) that it can be worn 8-12 hours per day. I’m a firefighter and my shift is 12 hours long. Can I wear it beyond the recommended 12 hours?…. maybe 14 or even 15 hours?
Yes Chris, there is no upper limit to wearing an automatic. For example you could wear it 24/7 and it wouldn't do any harm to the movement with over winding. When a movement is dead, 40 clockwise manual winds of the crown, or wearing it 8 hours per day; are enough to keep it fully charged. I was just referring to the comfort level regarding 8-12 hours per day, rather than the maximum, or recommended time it needs to be worn daily. Wearing it on a 12 hour shift daily would be no problem whatsoever. When the movement is fully wound to its maximum 40 hours, it has a ratcheting mechanism that will release the excess tension to prevent damage from over winding. For example if you wore it 24 hours, it would be fully charged to its maximum 40 hours power reserve; and release any excess tension. Regards, #WR4K
I see they also offer it with the SW200 movement. Does Octupus Kraken use the SW200-1 movement? If it is just the SW200, then I will stick with the NH35.
Comparing the bezel action of this Octopus with a SKX007 Seiko is completely impossible. The Octopus is far superior, the Seiko feels muchy. I have both watches, the Octopus is far, far better in every detail.
Great watch, great review. This watch is so beautiful to look at. Crystal clear dial and hands. I have many watches that are very difficult to read the time in low light conditions. This Octopus is stunning. Love it.
