I really wished that part of the movie, because Odile is one of the most intriguing ballet characters. I actually don't see her only as this seductive vamp, but rather the lonely, sheltered girl, spoiled by her evil father. I tried many fanfics with her. By the way, the music here of the black swan pas de deux is no 5 of the ballet music. Tchaikovsky didn't intend it for Odile, it was later used. The music is so gentle and pure... if that's Odile definite music, I just don't want her to be evil....
Well, there's an anime tv show Adventures of the Puss in Boots, featuring the episode of the "Swan Lake", where Odile is not evil, and is actually very very beautiful (resembles Ariel), who later sacrifices herself for Derek (Ziegfried) and Odette's happiness so they can be free from Rothbart, by throwing herself into the lake.
The Queen's reaction still puzzles me to this day. At 0:45 she has clearly recognized Odette and can't believe her eyes. Then she's just like "Who is she, she looks great" and when Roger suggests it could be Odette at 1:16, she seems to be just realizing it could be her. No "That's what I thought but I couldn't be sure", just "OMG you think". Doesn't make much sense.
She was in shock because everyone thought Odette was dead. This is why she first said, "Oh no. It can't be." So she probably was wondering if it was just someone who happened to look like Odette rather than it actually being Odette.
Well everyone thought by now Odette was killed alongside her father when she disappeared, only Derek thought she was alive, which makes his training to hunt the Great Animal weird. Seeing Bridget as Odette is like seeing a dead woman, people are trying to make sense out of this by thinking she’s someone else or at least someone that looks like Odette with only Derek glad to see her
I wish Odlie was included. FYI, I know Sir Chamberlain is the manservant figure but what position Lord Rogers is supposed to be rather than just being a maestro and advisor? The Wikipedia has him as a valet while IMDB has him as a butler. Like I see him in three different positions but I need to know.
I'm disappointed, as I was hoping this was going to be either Nigel Thornberry or "Grandma, it's me, Anastasia!" But I see it's a reference to the original ballet, so kudos.
I’m confused, this scene was in atleast my version of the movie, why is everyone saying they wished odile was in the movie? Is it just because she wasn’t actually a separate character but just rothbarts assistant transformed?
I believe it is because in the ballet Odile does exist as a character, not a transformation. She is the daughter of the villain and a parallel of Odette, since she is as beautiful and graceful as Odette but with sharp dancing movements and black feathers instead of white on her dress. I guess they just wish Odile was in the movie as a constant character
