I was looking at the comments. I see so many complaining about Doug interrupting Stacey. I am unsure why it's not clear that this is their dynamic and they are very happy. They seem well bonded and frankly pretty cute. Dough seems to have so much respect for all of Stacey's knowledge on all the nutritional stuff and the healing. He's not meaning to be rude. He's enthusiastic. Yelling at him and calling him names, that's rude! His wife can speak for herself, if she was upset I'm sure she would have mentioned it. I've been holding that in for a while, sorry about that little explosion.

I became scared of those products in the 80s when they came out with anti-perspirants which contain aluminum. Sweating is healthy. Not sweating is not healthy. Plus aluminum? Could there be a connection with a high rates of breast cancer? I use nothing, wash with water if I start to smell.

@@laurelsternberg5861 there is a link between breast cancer and deodorant. However, the scarier risk is Alzheimers.

Gahhhh!!! Thank you thank you! I wasn't sure if I was imagining if my kids hair was softer after I used my homemade shampoo and conditioner, but this morning I took a shower and used it. I'm not exaggerating. It takes me 30-45 min to brush my hair cause its so long. I literally just brushed my hair in less than 5 minutes!!!! Oh my goodness this stuff is AMAZING! And my hair is so soft! Gahhh I'm excited! I HATED brushing my hair before lol. It's insane that apple cider vinegar would work so much better than tons of head and shoulders conditioner!

I tried the baking soda wash and ACV rinse; verdict - they work wonderfully and I love this. I made your ketchup and again, it is wonderful! I made your tooth powder and again, I love it! coconut oil has anti- bacterial/anti fungal properties. I mix it with baking soda, clove oil and neem oil for toothpaste; massage into scalp and just rinse out with hot water about once a month; apply to rashes, bug bites and cuts for faster healing and less scarring.

I LOVED THE PHOTOS AT THE BEGINNING! I've never put baking soda in my "shampoo". I'll try your formula. I have been using vinegar as a rinse and find my hair is much smoother (my hair is very coarse). I use lime juice for deodorant. I transfer it to a squirt bottle. Works great! Pinned.

my hair is curly and fine, and tends to thin, break or fall out if i use commercial stuff. so it looks dull, dry and frizzy and if it's humid out it's even worse. what i do, aside from using real ingredient products, is once a week i put a good 1/4C or more of coconut oil on my hair, massage it in really well, wrap it up turban style with a damp warm towel. leave it like that for a half hour and then wash. it conditions, repairs damaged hair and detoxes and feeds your hair. for a rinse i boil onion skins in water with some acv. no, it doesn't make your hair smell like onions or vinegar, but it does help remove toxins, cure dandruff, skin issues, make your hair soft and smooth without static in the winter. the bonus with this is it wakes up your hair's natural highlights and makes grey hairs less noticeable.

I have locs, so I found the baking soda got stuck in the locks and that wasn't working for me. I tried it years ago. Apple cider vinegar was too drying and turned my hair to straw the first time and took a month to fix. I personally went back to using tea to wash my hair (herbal teas) mixed with lavender etc. the same as you mentioned, and a little coconut oil. I run it through the hair scrbbing the scalp. The tanins of the black tea and the herbal teas keep the scalp in geat condition and the hair is great without stripping it of all the oils. You don't have to add the coconut oil either at this stage. I condition with the coconut oil afterwards. My deodorant is the same. Love the videos. Thankyou, Please don't stop them.
@redtankgirl5
@redtankgirl5 9 лет назад
***** Well, that might explain why the tea shampoo heals any sore spots that may errupt on your head, almost immediately. I have to agree, NATURAL is the only way to go. Before I locked up and used shampoo from the Evil Corp's, I had dandruf and sore spots all the time. I went to teas and natural oils and never had another flake again or ever had another sore spot. Also, I don't have to shampoo but two or three weeks between washing. But then I can't brush hair like the rest of you to brush my oils through. I love the natural way. My scalp never itches and is healthy, healthy, healthy. Be well.

I just did research on alternatives to baking soda because I'm afraid if the long-term damage. I have very fine hair, lots of it, it's straight, and very dark brown. I just started using rye flour and ABSOLUTELY LOVE it. It's been two weeks. Three tablespoons rye flour and add water to make a slurry. Concentrate the mix towards the roots to pick up the oils. Leave on for about five minutes and rinse. Rinse well. Even a comb would help. Many complain about the leftover flakes but I find they fall out after your hair has dried. (And remember, I have very dark brown hair so they would be very visible.). PS I've been using Bob's Red Mill Dark Rye Stone Ground.

Hi Leah! ty for sharing, do you still use the flour? i just heard about chickpea flour from Fairyland cottage & have been debating trying it, i have very long, fine, brown hair which gets oily easily...the baking soda makes my hair feel dry but the ACV makes it feel nice when im washing it but when it dries it feels yucky like waxy barbie hair & is very stringy looking even down in the long part where it doesnt ever show if it's oily (know what i mean?). I work in an office & have to appear 'professional' so i cant show up in hats etc while my hair detoxes :( but i really want to get off commercial poo! for now i am using paraben free, sls free, fragrance free organic shampoo base & add EO's...but i've been thinking about the flour method, did you have a hair detox period? :) thx in advance! :) best wishes for 2019 :)

I have been using the baking-soda wash for 6 yrs now, followed by ACV in water for conditioner. I have found in my area since I'm using boiled tap water (city water) I need to do 3 T baking soda to 2 cups. My hair has never been healthier. I used to have to wash everyday now I only wash my hair 2x's a week. For my deodorant I haven't gotten to home made but I am using an all natural roll-on that is mostly aloe vera ,herbal tea and almond oil extract.

I just put it in a salt shaker and keep it in my closet, I just skake a dab in my hand dry and put under my arms. It works great. If I have shaved I wait a while. I usually only have to use it now about every 3 days or so because after you have used it for a while it keeps things neutralized. It neutralizes any odors that might be there and keeps me drier. Thank you for sharing this, you have a popular channel that reached a lot of people and you guys are doing a lot of good.😊

Baking soda kills bacteria. I've been washing my underarm areas with baking soda for years - just a little bit placed on wet area - let it sit for 10-30 seconds and rinse - may have to do it more than once. If a shirt/dress happens to get underarm odor, I soak the underarms in a baking soda/water mixture for 5-10 minutes prior to putting it in the washing machine. I so the same for dish cloths and sponges - soak for 10-30 seconds. I recently began making water kefir. I've noticed that if I drink 1-2 glasses kefir a day, I rarely have underarm odor.

Baking Soda is ok for your hair if you only wash your hair once or twice a week. It can be very drying.

Funny how your phone listens to you! I was talking to my husband about using apple cider vinegar in my hair and this video popped up! I will be making the switch for my health care products immediately! Thank you for always digging deep in your daily routine!

The baking soda shampoo and apple cider vinegar conditioner work great. I was hopeful, yet skeptical, since I have very fine but thick hair. I did the formulas just like Stacy said and my hair combed out so easy after I washed it. I am so delighted as I have had to buy fragrance free shampoo and conditioners and the companies charge a lot more to add lass (no fragrance) and now I will not have too, plus no more paraben on my head. Thank you Stacy!

In my middle age I started to get rashes from commercial deodorant so I started buying very expensive ones. They were a bit better but the rashes came back.Then i bought health food shop varieties which were not very effective. Lavender and tea tree oils were good but also ineffective. Then I began to use magnesium oil on my body for extra supplementation. {After a while I made my own - just Google it} Somewhere I read that it was a good deodorant but I was sceptical. But I tried it and have never looked back. Maybe it's just me but it is the best deodorant ever. The only drawback is that it initially stings when applied to the skin. However that's a small price to pay for the results..A happy side-effect is that it makes the skin very smooth and soft anywhere you apply it. Especially the face. One gets used to the stinging sensation. No pain, no gain. as they say.

I know this is an old video but when you mentioned the Year of the lice I though back I remembered that up here in Canada it was also my got half the year both girls (and probably my hubby and I( had lice I couldn't get rid of it the school couldn't. I went through 4 different types of poison and our hair was so fried. the most expensive lice shampoo $36 CAD was what finally worked but uhhg that was a very frustrating mommy time. we also started then and still today always have tea tree oil a few drops in our normal shampoo. kids don't care for the smell but when I say would you rather get lice again? they want the oil

Been transitioning to all natural beauty products since I watched this video! My skin is so much happier! The baking soda deodorant works like a charm!! I’m starting to experiment w good natural ingredients like glycerin, silica, raw cacao, almond oil, different essential oils. It’s been a lot of fun and feels great! Thanks Doug and Stacey❣️❣️ Next goal is transitioning to all natural laundry detergent. Any tips? A video on this would be amazing if you haven’t made one yet. Thanks a bunch and hope you guys have a wonderful holiday season ⛄️💕💕💕🌲🌲✨✨🌟

Love my baking soda deodorant! I mix it with water in a small silicone bottle, just add some in the palm and smear it. SO much better than ANY other garbage you can buy. I'm going to be trying the shampoo now. I try to stick with castile soap for shampoo.. still have a small portion of the other chemical shampoo.. it is about to be trashed. Thanks for all the great info! I'm new around here so you may already have a video on the teas you drink, but if not maybe it would make a good video. Peace.

Ok, I'm glad this works for you. Your website redirects to a bunch of different spammy places. I tried this shampoo/conditioner technique a few years ago for over a month after viewing the "No Impact Man". My hair still hasn't recovered a good pH... I get super oily buildup near the scalp almost immediately after a shower and I don't use this anymore. I have thick long hair but baking soda was over-stripping the hair and vinegar did nothing for conditioning. I had to go back to a really crappy shampoo to get even 24 hours of "normal" looking hair. The "natural shampoo's" don't do anything for me now. Careful with messing with your pH. ;) Oh yeah, the baking soda burns my underarms and I get a rash and a permanent discolored area, and I'm NOT using too much.

Thank you 😊 for sharing this vide with us. I tried it a couple times with backing soda but like a paste it was to much from it , liquid like you use it would be better, I will try it again. I like to try different shampoos only natural and for me it's boring only to wash my hair with backing soda , maybe you have to get use to it. There are good shampoos with sheabutter and... I like to put in my hair (I have dry hair )cut Aloe Vera and put the gel on your hair and than a mixture with castor oil, rosemary essential oil and grape seed oil or ... sometimes I put ginger juice on my scalp , it's great .
