Awesome stuff Anthony. Can you show us how to clean pickup on kun26 without removing engine? I have cleaned it with kero and a brush and its come up pretty good. 280k hilux done the injectors as soon as i got it and they had been leaking for a while.
Hey brother - I just swapped my turbo and my cylinder head. Doing glow plugs and injectors now. When I removed my oil filter and valve cover, my oil was really gunky and sticky. I have only owned the truck for about 5 months, and have done two oil changes in it. I think the fresh oil is kicking up the old crap and filtering it out. However, I am concerned that the oil due to the density of the gunk might not drain very easily. Should I go ahead and drop the pan, or do you recommend just starting it up first and letting it get warm and then draining from there? Truck has been sitting for about 2 weeks now, as well.
Depends on how "gunky" the oil is but I'd suggest dropping the pan and clean out as much as possible of the old oil so it doesn't block either the oil screen or the pump
My 2007 Prado 3.0 4D4: Just going to change the oil and check the grill. There is an oil leak somewhere behind the engine, haven't found the source yet. Rocker cover seal is new. Just thinking to deal with the oil sump seal, but what other oil leak possibilaties would there be behind the engine? it would be somewhere not so easy to see. Greetings from Finland!
