New subscriber here, so at least you got one more sub lmao :) Great reaction and i do really love your honesty... To me he is the BEST beatboxer out there at the moment, at least as far as I have heard, but you are of course entitled to your own opinion and I fully respect that. I hope you will continue to give us your honest opinion, even if there is something you do not like. I feel it's a little feasy that some other reactors like everything they react to... Tastes are different and liking everything coming up their sleeves doesn't feel honest. But that's just my opinion, I feel they are mostly pleasers. It might be good for likes, but i want reactors to be honest, that's why I follow them at least. Keep up the good work and stay true to yourself, and I hope you'll get your 9K subs in no time. Greetings from Denmark
People need to be more like you my friend !! Thank you joining and welcome to the family. This has made me smile a lot 😊. Thank you ! I repeat myself a lot on here and I keep on saying - I’m not a fake reactor, I keep it 100% honest, I’m not an expert in this field just a guy who’s inspired by the music my subscribers have recommended for me, this isn’t my channel it’s your - and finally seeing someone who gets it makes me feel so at ease. There’s been a lot of biting in the comment section in this reaction however you can’t please everyone 😅 and all I can do is be me and you get it. Thank you for the wishes and do stick around and enjoy the journey 😊
He has to be a little fast, he's only got 7 or 8 minutes to do his whole routine lol. Btw I've beatboxers react to him who can't do a lot of what he does AND none of them can do the harmonica.
Remember, this was 8 years ago, and he has only gotten better. His real genius as far as HF is concerned is his ability to know exactly how much to do. He is never over the top, but is always 'there' when you need it. Do I recall that you will be seeing them this fall? His new solo will make you leave your seat, from what I hear.
I got to see them live last October. Adam's solo set was jaw dropping. The only way he wouldn't get a standing O is if he were performing in a cemetery. Oh, hell, Even then it might be a possibility.
I would love to see them this fall but I can’t unfortunately. My plan is to eventually see them live and every other band, Acapella group and artist I react to. Soon this will happen 😊
This video is 8 years old and has just gotten better.Adam has been beatboxing for over 23 years so to call him GOOD is an insult to him.He is the best out there IMO. He has had many true drummers say how good he is and accurate he is.
Love Adam Rupp & his insane talent. He is the best out there in my opinion. He simulates the sounds of a drum perfectly. Many drummers have commented on how good he is. He sounds so realistic. His breath control must be crazy. I heard he makes the sounds both while inhaling & exhaling. This was a few years ago & hard to believe but he is even better now. Adam is the glue that holds Home Free together. He is their secret weapon which other a cappella groups can't match.
what you seem to forget about the tempo is that other than the drum solos he doesn't do solo DJ stuff. He is part of a rythm section of a group, the tempo depends on the song. But there are videos of drum solos of him from concerts where he layered himself with a looper live on stage and created solo EDM pieces
Adam was a trumpet major in college and uses the circular breathing in beatboxing. He also taught himself to drum so he could do sounds for beatboxing. Tim often says Adam's ADHD has been used for the good of HF
According to Adam when HF did their first performance he could only make 3 sounds. He was phenomenal on the Sing Off (and before) and he just continues to hone his craft and get better and better. Believe it or not he's breathing the entire time. When you beatbox you make what sound you're going for as you inhale. I've watched him enough to be able to tell when he's just taking a small breath in between sounds but his breath control is amazing. Check out their video for Snapback and make sure you watch it all the way through the outro.
All I’d add to the comments is you’ll never get the bass from a cell phone recording. PS beatboxing and vocal percussion are two very different fields. Adam is, arguably, the best vocal percussionist on the scene right now. There are beatboxers at higher levels but Adam sounds like the drums he is trying to emulate.
He is amazing. I think he's even more impressive when he's "backing" the other Home Free guys. He always does exactly the right amount, depending on the song. I recommend that you watch one of his more recent ones where he uses a looper in the first half and harmonizes with himself over the drum line. Almost fell out of my chair when I saw them last Christmas.
Thank you for all the lovely comments 😊. Very constructive feedback i appreciate it 😊. There’s a lot I can say with the feedback given and I was debating to replying to everyone individually, however the comments are quite similar. Instead I’ll do this one big comment. To simplify it, i’m a honest and genuine reactor. I’m not going to sugar coat anything for likes, be biased because everyone is a big fan of him or lie just to get subscribers. I’m actually going to give my honest outside opinion on what I actual witnessed during my reaction to Adam Rupp. I’m not here to please everyone that’s not my job. I’m here to enjoy music and have a good time. I’m not a fake reactor. Thank you for always watching and showing your appreciation to this channel 😊❤️🙏🏾
Agreed. This was quite an abbreviated performance. One of the really fun ones also involves all of the others, in a beatboxing battle, while doing a live performance in Scotland. It's when Chris was still with them. It's called "Home Free Recorded Live at St.Andrews in Scotland January 2016" on the "kim ball" channel. The song is "9 to 5," but it's not in the title.
@@GrandmasGotGraceLW Thank you GG!!! That’s the one I really like too. It’s recorded close to the stage and I recommend it a lot and no one seems to try it.
I don't understand how you could have thought he isn't that good to begin with. His musicality and skill within Home Frees' performances are the outstanding secret weapon that puts Home Free over and above all the rest of the a capella groups.. His performances are always spot on. The most accurate drum reproduction and he always does exactly what a song needs. No more, no less. He is THE BEST in my opinion
I think a very good explanation for this: Adam Rupp is inhuman. 😉 He is a drum alien in Angelguise. You just have to because he is so unbelievably good(and handsome too😊😍)!! Like he swallowed a drum kit. And then vocally he can also make so many more (instrument) sounds which is not normal
This is old .plus I've seen much better. I think it has 5o do with this Phone recording. To bad there are much better. To me Listen To The Music cover shows his percussion
Ummm... you do know that he can change his tempo if he wants, right? (And he does so frequently and at will....) I appreciate your honesty, and everyone has their own likes and dislikes. You are to be commended for having the fortitude to face the Fries expressing yours so openly. As you progress in your interest/fandom, you will see and hear plenty of stuff to increase your understanding of what Adam can do. I'm glad you gave this one a look-listen.
I've subbed. I think you might really like "Some Girls Do," which has a nice, steady, slower beat. When the video gets close to 2:24, Adam adds a little extra pizzazz. Chance has the lead in the song, and the lady sitting next to him for that video (on the tailgate) is now his wife. 😀 You might also like to check out "Mayday," which also has a steady, slower beat, but highly different from "Some Girls Do." It's very laid back, yet quite powerful. Plus, you'll get some trade-arounds with vocal ranges that might surprise you. I checked your list of reactions to HF, but didn't see either of those in the roster. I hope you will try them out.

Thank you and welcome to the family 😊. I will note these down. Yes I haven’t done the famous May Day song or Snow Globe as well aha .. but I will note these down 😊. Also the live version
This is a great video, but he has only gotten better since this was recorded. There are videos on RU-vid from 2018 and 2021 as well as a video of his Christmas drum solo from 2022. That one is called Adam Rupp's Trans Siberian Orchestra, and it's pretty amazing!
They often introduce Adam as the heartbeat & pulse of the band or as a freak of nature. He's brilliant and in my opinion the best beatboxer anywhere. His beats in any song are always perfect - never too much or too little and wildly creative (i.e. the weird little giggly thing near the end of "Cold Hard Cash"). He also has terrific range as a singer. I get hypnotized watching his hands & his throat muscles.
Bear in mind that you're watching & listening to a cell 'phone recording so the tonality is dependent both on the quality of the cell 'phone & the acoustics of the venue.
Young man he's in a time slot on stage. He has an allotted time to show a varying range of his talent to the audience. Believe me, if you wanted a disco dance beat he would give you the best you've ever seen but at this point he's onstage trying to cram as much talent time as he can come on now
If you like this you should watch Adam's solo in more recent years were he also uses a looper to layer sounds and even some vocals into his solo's now.
I always feel like talent is less the point than Skill. He's been beat boxing well over twenty years, and anyone can tell it's a point of pride to be improving and expanding. Even when it's his singing voice that's needed, he'll get coaching if he thinks he needs it. I think Adam is a perfectionist.
I am bemused by the fact that he not only develops the mouth work but, adds in the matching gesticulation with his hands even though the aren't really doing anything.
you have to remember this is part of the live Home Free shows. so Adam must be some what tired already from all the beat boxing he has done so far. there is another video like this one he does seem to be a bit slower in that one.
Well, Adam has won competitions and has earned the title of "Best in The World" ! His brother, Chris Rupp, was in an interview and said that title was well deserved
Bro I saw him in concert this year! I’ll send you the vid if you want, I recorded it. I was part of the generation that invented beat boxing. He did the sickest old school bass cd part. A scale that went higher and higher then a much better “drop the bass” and then dropped that bass! Amazing
With a lot of people being touchy feely with my opinion on this reaction I’m very 50/50 with reacting to another solo piece from Adam Rupp. However if you would like to still share the recording please send it through the discord - discord.gg/cNrcD5yQ - and I’ll debate with what I’ll do 😊
I think some people in the comments section are forgetting I did mentioned he sounds exactly like the instruments and that was something I really liked about him😊. Thank you 😊
The incomparable Adam Rupp--beatboxer and vocal percussionist extraordinaire!! Home Free's secret weapon❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ I don't know that anyone has ever actually publicized Adam's range, but I sincerely believe his is the widest vocal range of all the Home Free fellas 💕
I think that since he does these either in the middle or toward the end of a full on concert he may not be as on top of it (vs if he was doing it with a full battery pack, hydrated, less wear on the vocal cords and all muscles involved.) BUT one can easily see a notable improvement from the 2015 drum solo to this one (2018) and hell, his 2021 (the title has “after falling “ in it…he did indeed fall onstage) is even BETTER. That’s one of my favorite Rupp solos
I strongly encourage you to do one of his recent solos. Here is a great one: "Drum/Beatbox Solo (New)- Adam Rupp/ Home Free 12-3-22" on the wbish3 channel. (Video is better than the one on 12-2-22.) He incorporates "Hark How the Bells," in case you want to do this around Christmastime.
I believe he was dropping harder D&B bases. I hear a lot of those styles of distortion on that EDM genre and others that have more grit. The majority of those that I listen to are in the 110 to 130 BPM. I do believe he can be very versatile and slow down. I do believe I’ve seen him on other beatboxing solos on stage doing various other styles. 15:00 this style is what I mean haha.
Most people can't do what he is doing (even 8 years ago). I would like to see you do equal before you submit your criticism. Wow! You're a tough critic. I've yet to see anyone today do better than he did 8 years ago.
He’s great. I’m not sure where your taste comes from but I challenge you to find someone better. I don’t mean as good. I mean better. I’m doubting it can be done. I’m not sure what more you could expect unless he used real instruments. I don’t even have a desire to finish listening to your reaction or review. At first I thought you must be joking but I’m not interested in your final remarks. Adam is absolutely amazing. I’m in shock at your insults. I guess I should just feel sorry for you but in all honesty I don’t think your review was honest. Perhaps there is a bit of jealousy? If you can do better - then accept my humble apology. Otherwise please excuse my honest opinion. I usually walk away rather than be negative but I love the three beatboxers from the three groups I listen to and you are just being disrespectful with uncalled for remarks and snide faces. If you hate country music, don’t assume you can react fairly. If you hate rap, don’t act like an artist is bad just because you don’t like rap. If you don’t know anything about beatboxing, don’t review it and pretend you know what you are talking about. You are still young and have years to learn how to treat others and insulting a professional who is excellent in his field is not the way to treat others. It not only can hurt the professional, but it can hurt those who respect him/her and look up to them. I hope you don’t put down others in this band. Home Fries are very loyal fans!
A skill that he did not demonstrate in this is his “nomonica”. Check out Ain’t Goin’ Down, and Man of Constant Sorrow. As far as his being “too fast” - this is a demonstration piece in the middle of a Home Free concert. He is trying to get as much in as he can. But listen to him with the guys, and his musical genius comes through as the perfect accompaniment! Thanks for the reaction. New subscriber.
He is a 2 time world champion for a reason, first off he swallowed a drum set, 2 he can go so fast, others can't keep up. 3 he can imitate anything, you should hear his nomonica listen to " man of constant sorrow" its amazing.
He is 1 of the best in the WORLD. So many drummers and musicians and drum teachers agree that he is. Just go look You must not know anything about drums. Jmo.
Adam Rupp is recognized as the #2 best beatboxer in the world. He has won the world beatbox championship multiple times. And as others have said this was 8 years ago hes better by alot now
If you wanna see one of the best beatboxing vids I've ever seen, check out Tom Thum - Rachet Face. Either live recording will do. He did one live solo, and one with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. Yes, a beat boxer performed with a full symphony, and it was f'ing awesome! But the one he did solo at a beatboxing gig is also awesome because the crowd has an awesome pop when the beat drops. Really adds to the energy and that one also feels a bit more raw/in the moment. Edit:Just having gone back and watched both videos, I think you should hit a double feature since they are both relatively short. ~3 minutes each. It was really awesome hearing the OG first live version first, then hearing the version with the symphony. I got some chills on the symphony version, but I don't think it would have hit as hard if I hadn't just heard the regular version.
Adam Rupp has asked people to stop spreading this myth. There’ve been 6 Beatbox World Championships so far and the winners were in order: Joel Turner, ZeDe, SkilleR, Alem, Alexhino, and FootboxG. These are available to watch on RU-vid so anyone can verify for themselves. Adam Rupp has never participated in any beatbox competitions and has no desire to do so.
Geoff Castelucci will be releasing his new video Saturday August 5th. He's in prison for crimes of passion. Voiceplay will probably be releasing their new video Friday August 11th. What's better than 4 drunken sailors? 6 drunken sailors of course.
Another new subscriber here! Love Home Free, and Adam Rupp is a beast of a beatboxer! Haven’t looked through your Home Free playlist, so I don’t know if you’ve reacted to their cover of Man of Constant Sorrow where he emulates a harmonica, and also in their cover of Ain’t Goin’ Down (Til the Sun Comes Up) where he also sounds like a harmonica (also their cover of “Workin’ For A Livin’).
Thank you 😊. I surprisingly had a lot of back lash for this reaction but I appreciate you seeing the positive side of this and joined the family. No I haven’t. However I will note this down. Thank you 😊
@@KaireemReactions I understood you and everyone has different opinions, so I respect that and can see your viewpoint. I knew when he got into the bass portion of his solo you would appreciate his talent more, plus the crazy sound effects and his breath control and speed are otherworldly!
@@bethcoussou yes ! His accuracy to the actual sound of house the instrument actually sounds is crazy ! The second half was way better and very skill full. I’m glad you saw that 😊. And exactly it’s just an opinion
