Detective Gumshoe. You should look forward to your next salary. You have gotten me out in multiple jams in the past so I have decided to raise your salary.
@@MilesEdgeworthAceAttorney E-e-Edgeworth? Are you feeling alright? You just... didn’t cut Gumshoe’s salary. You even raised it! WHO ARE YOU AND WHERE IS MILES FRICKEN EDGEWORTH BEING STORED
I think they meant to convey they missed/couldn’t see Phoenix and Maya. But it does come off pretty cold lmao. Like goddamn, Miles. 😳 That’s your childhood best friend and his GF. You should go introduce yours to them, lol.
@@elizabethkblanco4620 That shouldn't stop them. At least since Spirit of Justice where they're both adults. My parents are 22 years apart and have been happily married for 25 years now. Age difference doesn't matter as long as both parties are old enough to consent and really in love
the best thing about this game is when edgeworth is talking to sawhit, and edgeworth thinks to himself “he must have had a bad run-in with a defense attorney”, not knowing said attorney is phoenix wright
Never gonna happen. Edgeworth’s games are for his circle, and Kay is the centre of it. Not Phoenix. Though it would be cool if Phoenix and Maya made a cameo, or Kay made one in a future AA game.
Owy's Gaming [Gregory Divino] I mean they team up in SoJ, but I don’t think it will happen in Investigations since it’d be bad for Phoenix to outshine Edgeworth in his own game.
If Edgeworth and Phoenix found out they were both here then there's a chance another defense attorney would've fought against Gavin and Phoenix would never have gotten his badge taken away
@@betheone4837 His name's Klavier Gavin. (Also since investigations cases are usually only a day long canonically, Wright would probably still face off against Klavier.)
@@valtos4093 yea but he got regressed back to a dude who doesn't know what he's doing. I loved his last case though, he looked like a professional unfazed of anything and had a flexible creative thinking, like a living legend.
I like when Kay starts getting hit by the elephant’s trunk Edgeworth just yells like he’s in court. “You there! Stop that!” As if that would work on an elephant. Love that.
Edgeworth: (hmmm I’m in a corner, I have to do that one thing that a certain spiky haired, blue suit wearing, turnabout son of a bitch lawyer does, what was it again?) Phoenix: turn your thinking around Edgeworth: (THATS RIGHT!!! I have to turn my thinking-) wait who said that? Phoenix: HEY EDGEWORTH!!!!! Maya: MAYA!!!!!! Edgeworth: AHHHHHHHHHHH
Lotta is one of my favourite characters and I was happy to see her again after justice for all they could’ve had her as the reporter in the last case of Apollo justice but they didn’t so it was nice to see her back
For the comments relating to phoenix, I'm assuming this was 2 weeks before the gavin brothers took down phoenix? And was there any real forshadowing of that here to begin with?(plus I wonder what's so Intriguing up that building that they're ignoring a crime scene with lotta of all people "quietly" taking pictures the southern way)
HOLD IT! Where is the step ladder joke? And the part where phoenix, maya and pearl riding a boat? ( which i think its in AAI not AAI2 ) and also the creator of the steel samurai in the airport?
You missed the one where Phoenix, Pearl and Maya were on a boat :)) There was another one also related to love I think but idr But lmao how sus- whenever they’re talking about love Phoenix is in the cameo I-
I like how Edgeworth just added the "at least from where we are standing". As if he just felt that Phoenix was somewhere nearby, even if he is not relevant for what is going on.
Well lets see - Payne in turnabout visitor - Sal manella in airlines - Phoenix, maya and pearls in kidnapped - Mike meekins, oldbag, ema and a reference to marshall in the same case - Lotta and larry in ablaze And maybe some more that I have forgotten
To this day I think if a third investigations game were to be made it should take place before apalo justice just so we can see how edgeworth feels about Wright being disbarred they never bothered to elaborate how Phoenix's friends felt about this for some reason so.I'd imagine a third investigations game could be used to fill in the gaps.
That would require them to actually admit that AJ happened at all. And between diffrent writers writing the games now, the game being hated in japan and capcom's restrictive spoilerclause or whatever, it is unlikely that we will ever get another plot that seriously delves into Phoenix's dissbarment beyond "it happened, lol"
@@coolcatred4922 No? It was never about "oh, people could not play AJ"(It was even ported to 3DS at some point iirc), it was about them not wanting it acknowledged.
I wish we had to see wright in this game...maybe we'll finally know what Edgeworth really thinks about Phoenix...I wonder if they didn't include him because 1. It would break our heart edgewright shippers 2. it would make the ship officially canon Or just give more hopes ...idk why they didn't include him and we could talk to him like all the other old characters even though them there or talking to them wasn't very logical ...ahhhh I wish this ship would be canon I wouldn't die happy if it isn't
Edgeworth thinks of Phoenix as his childhood friend. He’s said it before and so has Phoenix. The only reason Phoenix isn’t in these games is because he would steal Edgeworth’s spotlight, same reason they get rid of him when they want Apollo or Athena to have a spotlight, except they work for him, so of course he has to appear. Phoenix doesn’t work for Edgeworth or vice versa, thus, no reason to appear aside from Easter eggs like this. Whether y’all like it or not, Edgeworth’s circle consists of: Kay, Franziska, Gumshoe, and Ema, with the only overlap between his and Phoenix’s circle being in Larry Butz, who is their mutual childhood best friend. The three of them share the same bond as signal samurai, which is why Larry appears in both games. You can ship whatever you’d like, but there is nothing in the canon suggesting Edgeworth thinks of Phoenix in a romantic way. They’re childhood friends/rivals, and Edgeworth has at once respect and contempt for Phoenix, being a bit of a prideful fellow. Of course, Phoenix has been an influence for him, which he acknowledges by rekindling their friendship. But that’s all it is: friendship. The only people Edgeworth has actually shown overt or very strongly hinted romantic feelings for are Kay Faraday and a one-shot character from when he travels back in time in a musical, the latter not being canon to the games. One of the most emotional moments Edgeworth has is under a cherry blossom tree with Kay, where she explains she ran away to try and jog her memory/get his prosecutor’s badge back. Edgeworth then says Kay’s thoughts and actions always exceed his expectations. If you know anything about Japan, you’d understand the meaning of including a cherry blossom tree/petals in this exchange, as hints of romantic feelings. The same is true in the SoJ prologue where Phoenix is standing under a cherry blossom tree whilst thinking of Maya, and Athena, who has that ability, picks up on his emotions. She has never picked up on anything re: Phoenix and Edgeworth as far as romantic feelings, though. Kay is the sole person who fits Edgeworth and who propels him to his absolute potential. Phoenix and Maya liberated him from his feelings of guilt in the DL-6 incident, as any friend would do when seeing another suffer, but Phoenix didn’t exactly agonise over it the way Edgeworth did when Kay was endangered. When people want to manipulate Phoenix Wright, they target Maya Fey, not Miles. So that alone should tell you everything re: whom Phoenix’s feelings belong to. As for Edgeworth, the same is true, when Simon Keyes willed to move him, he targeted Kay Faraday both physically and legally, knowing Edgeworth would not rest until he’d saved her, and that he would be angered to the point of tracking him down. Hell, Maya is more important to Phoenix than even Trucy, and Kay managed to actually become Edgeworth’s assistant, despite him pushing her away at first. So, that alone should speak to the importance of these women to both men, and invalidate both the “he sees her as a sister/daughter” cope, since Phoenix already has a daughter, and Miles already has a sister. As far as friends, we can compare their reactions to when Larry or even each other have come under suspicion for murder/been targeted. Of course they care, because they’re friends, but it’s not the same as when Maya and Kay respectively are targeted. I don’t think Phoenix and Edgeworth were ever meant to be a couple, and there is no evidence suggesting any sort of romantic feelings between them. So, in short, there’s nothing to confirm because the answer should already be pretty clear. I also don’t think we’ll ever see Phoenix in these games as an investigative partner because they are rivals, and he would steal attention away from Miles, who deserves to have his own games separate from the going-ons of Phoenix Wright. Sorry if this comes as bad news to you, but it’s pretty clear that they’re not, have never been, and will never be canon, because Phoenix belongs with Maya, and Edgeworth as per his own games with Kay. Lastly, Rayfa also gives us a pretty good impression of how Phoenix would treat a “little sister-like” character (though Pearl also serves this function), and Edgeworth a character he considered a child. Neither treat either Maya or Kay in that manner, but as valuable partners and people they have romantic feelings for, this considering Rayfa was an investigative partner for both of them. So, ship whatever you’d like, but it’s simply not going to be canon. I doubt Capcom will make any main cast relationship concretely canon, but Phoenix/Maya and Edgeworth/Kay definitely have the strongest canon hints/support. Edit: “and I wouldn’t die happy if it isn’t.” Then perish in sorrow. I’m a shipper too, but wtf. Placing so much importance on a ship, especially one as weak/unlikely to be canon as that, is not healthy. Please seek help.
Dante and EdgeLords It’s not canon and it never will be. Phoenix clearly cares for Maya Fey, and Edgeworth for Kay Faraday. Shipping is of course very fun for a lot of people, myself included, but these types who pester for canon confirmation, especially of ships that don’t even make sense in the first place, are really annoying.
