Going to be awesome! Yeah the Patina would be nice if it was all blue. I don't mind the green and blue together. But I get what your saying. I'm sure she's going to be nice. Exited to see
Sounds good my man! I can attest that a saginaw cant handle power. I had a V8 vega I built with a 60 0ver 327 narrowed 12 bolt and I put in a saginaw whilst looking for a muncie . Well I blew the whole side off that sucker one Saturday and had 4th gear and reverse to limp home on about a half mile. Muncie held! Slots look good on Novas in my opinion. Looking forward to how this build shakes out.
I have always wanted to see a good ratty pro street nova! Us metal heads in our black leather jackets would put about 3" outside of the wheelwell with the rear bumper up to our belt buckles! We couldn't afford por street, but we wanted it and did what we could! I'm building a '70 that has the same rusty floors but worse quarters. 454, Muncie, 12 bolt and huge slots in back just like high school!
You can still use your old school pistons using a sbc 307 crank to make that sbc 350 block a 327 by swapping to 5.850" sbc rods that are available. A higher rod ratio gives you more dwell time ATDC making it less detonation prone to run cheaper fuel unless you're planning on using E85? Plus you can use the 350 crank in the 307 to build a budget sbc 307 stroker. Those last 4 words from the previous sentence in a yt video title would get tons of views!😎👍
Hey John how about Turbo spray can paint job. I watched some other channels do it. It didn't look that bad. That would probably work right in the budget.
Looking good yes I’m not a fan of the cragers either John old centerline or convo pros or slots now I just the like the weld wheels draglites and prostars that’s petty much ohh and the torque thrust classic style ones
Whatever you do with a John I'm with you. Cherry bomb and flex pipe yeah? I'm thinking that Tunnel RAM and 2 For's Would be awesome? Never did it wanted to do it when I was back in school.
What do you think of chrome reverse wheels? I like the convo pros, but they seem to be a late 80s or even 1990s vintage speed part. Another idea would be a hurricane style wheel like the optional Z28 wheels in the late 70s.
Here is an Idea if you can try to find a super T10 it can take the horse 🐎 power. My uncles friend got ahold of one those transmissions and when he did that no more broken transmission and the rearend of the car was given him after that. He had 1956 Belair 2 door 350 engine not sure what was done to it but he would play this game with me he would give me a dollar if I could grab it when he was driving. I never could win the dollar because that had so much power it throw me back in the seat before I could grab it.
Hello, I live in Spain where there are not many parts and I am building a Nova, I have a question about how to adapt an 8.8 Ford and I don't know if you answer questions or if you do it through another channel? thank you.
Not crazy about the hood scoop idea. I would spend as much time and money as I felt comfortable fixing the passenger compartment and trunk floors so 400 HP doesn’t twist the car like a pretzel.
i am glad you are not going to Pro Street it. To each his own, but I just can't stand the huge wheel tubs. In my opinion, it was the worst part of the hot rod hobby in the 80s.
I’d like to build a pro street Nova but it would have to be one that’s pretty bad to start with and it would mostly be more for views than anything else.
