I can't believe 13 year old me was into those boring Sonic ships slideshow stories. I didn't have a life back then, I still don't have one, but at least it isn't as cringy or lifeless like back in the day.

Someone said that you brought them to my video. I thought it would be those annoying "edgy XXXDDD ear-rape nasal graving" videos, but what I got instead was a decent video that's pretty comedic, and you at least make fun a lot of Sonic pairings, and not just one pairing. I will agree that MEP videos are in my opinion better made than my videos ever try to did. Although I can't speak for the rest of the people, I can speak why I made videos. Long story short; I was young who had an obsession with my ships who wanted to find a way to express that love one way or another. And when I watched these videos, my teenage-self was thinking to make those same videos to share the love; monkey see monkey do. I will say my more embarrassing and lazy videos have been removed on RU-vid, simply because of how outdated and bland they really are(at least I tried to put effort in my later videos that match the lyrics and what not). I couldn't ask my mother to buy me a better video editing software, because she would rather spend money on food and bills rather than a program that would cost $100 dollars, so I used windows movie maker because it was available. I'm guessing that's the same for the rest of these fans; we were all teenagers that couldn't ask our parents to buy programs because stranger danger(even if we wanted to or tried to). I have noticed that the videos the you picked are old(almost a decade), it must have been years of build up from users that left their channels a long time ago for a decade, and that could also be why MEP videos don't get much views, sonic shippers have grown up(at least a majority of ones that were on RU-vid). I apologize if my comment is too long, I just wanted to throw in my two cents, and have a lot to say, so forgive me.
This might be a bit old but I think this video still holds up, it has good points, and I know this is old, however, it has the modern dumbsvillle humor that we have now.
I don’t bother people whether they like any AMV or not but I personally can’t stand AMVs of any kind. Ever try to look up your favorite Dragon Ball fight but a bunch of videos with some song nobody’s ever heard of pops up?

tbh those sonamy amv's were my childhood so I still have a heart for them.the ones I really like I keep them even though I don't watch them anymore.You were right about those story slideshows and the new sonic amv's are amazing. I wish I seen more of them when I was little.But don't get me wrong I'm not one of those rabid sonamy fans.I still love the ship but I don't harass other people who who have different opinions.

I used to watch sonic pic comps on my dads 1st gen iphone. Couples, babies, plain character art, funny comics. You really opened my eyes to my 10 year old self, thx.

I used to watch something similar to these when I was super young. They were like, bad sonic fan fictions that were just text put over stolen screenshots from sonic x. And I would actively wait for new episodes to come out.
I personally am a tribute maker, and I'll be honest, it isn't easy. It's hard to bare all the garbage that get's so much attention (and respect) when it's literally just pictures. Also, I find that most of the editing doesn't make sense, most amv's transition from one scene to another with no real outline. In recent years, the editing is much more crisp and has an actual purpose. Usually it's to accentuate the lyrics of a song, or the actual music itself. Still, it's a real pain.
I kind of agree, making videos are not easy. People who put more effort in videos get so little notice. But people who make lazy videos get so much attention just because it appeals more to the audience (then again, a few were made many years ago). This is saying something about the newer generation of people. Challenging yourself helps better yourself and can lead to benefits. Staying in your comfort zone does nothing. It certainly helped me in a few of my works. Great job by the way!
