This is the back up generator at my dad's house. It is from the late 60's I believe. Dad bought it in maybe 69 or 70, used from a construction company. It is a Sear's 3000 watt, that runs at 1800 RPM. The model TRA 120 "Wisconsin Heavy Duty Air Cooled Engine" has never had anything done to it, other than oil changes, and one spark plug. The points have never been touched, and the carburetor has never been rebuilt. It always starts first pull, even after sitting for years, of course with the fuel system drained.
Dad said if someone wants to buy the generator, he will sell it, as he would like an electric start model. Dad has a hard time pulling it over to start it, so I often drive the 40 minutes up to his house, to start it for him. This is NOT a hundred dollar buy, it will be more like what a new electric start model cost, as these great old 1800 RPM generators are very hard to find now days, and last forever... plus it's very quite... but very heavy.
If your interested in buying it, send me a private message. I will consider all reasonable cash offers, NO lowball offers! You will need to pick it up, as I will not ship it. It's heavy, so bring someone with you, to help you load it.
Thank you for viewing my videos.

If you treat your equipment like this guy does it will save you tons in repairs and maintenance. Drain the fuel when its out of season or not going to be used for long periods.

I have made tons of stuff with the plasma cutter. Maybe I will show some of the projects I made with it, and show some future projects with it. I have not used it since last winter... so I need to get it out and play with it.

These single cylinder engines produced about 9 hp max at 3600 RPM so at 1800 rpm put out about 4.5hp so output 2250 Watts to run lights and fridge freezer. EDIT: Looks like I was wrong after all Wisconsin did make some larger single cylinder engines mostly used in garden tractors such as Bolens the S10D, S12D, S14D and a few variants of those model numbers. I learn something new everyday. I guess they had to try to keep up with Kohler.

That engine is rated at 12hp at 3600 rpm, so it's probably putting out at least 6 hp at 1800 rpm. It has lots of torque, so loading it down docent really affect it, it just hums along. It runs everything needed and then some.

@@OldCarAlley do you have the model number of the engine or generator?

@@OldCarAlley an AH or an AHH They were the largest single cylinder Wisconsin engines that were produced, rated at about 9.2 hp.

@@jimthvac100 I think the numbers show up in the video.... I sold the house, and the buyer wanted the generator with the house, so I have no way of getting numbers off it now.

I have a 6500 way gen with a Wisconsin moter , moter seems to run ok even with a rusted full tank and a little water run through carb , is it worth spending money for a carb rebuild and a new fuel tank , work to be done at a shop?? Gen is at least 25 years old

There really good engines, but parts are getting hard to find for them. If you can get parts, yes I think it would be worth a little work.

Today’s generators run at much higher rpms to produce 3000 watts

Do you still have this generator and would you sell it?

Still have it. It's still dads back up power. I will see if he still wants to sell it. He needs a electric start generator... he's 85 and can not start it anymore, with his back problems. I am sure he would do a trade for a model with electric start. I will see him early next week, and ask him, and how much he would like for it.

OK, I have an electric start just like that but it needs parts and the parts are no longer made. I would use the generator for parts or convert it to electric.
