@Brian, you’re right about the part of the G4 settings. A lot of people don’t know how to get the full potential of their oled tv’s. My brother has the G3 and didn’t changed anything, just uses this in its Eco preset. Getting to know how to use all settings can improve the picture quality by 200%
In filmmaker mode the top to (QD-OLED) have more defintion and colour depth. I am not sure if that is the camera or not, but you can clearly see it on the replay.
Man this video was so fun. An hour past the video mark it looked like Brian was high on caffeine/Sugar, random burts of hyperness from him made it hilarious 🤣.
For me it is just important that white is white and black is black, and natural colors of course. I love the white bust from LG. So for me definitely the LG G4.
If it actually manages to display everything at the intended brightness up to 1,500+ nits in HGiG without loss of color luminance or low-luminance color desaturation at up to 144 Hz that would be so awesome. Can‘t wait for Classy‘s review as well. Just hoping that gradation is improved since the G3 was quite a bit behind the S95C in that regard.
@@rahb2096 Seems like it and now that I look at it again it also seems to be somewhat consistent or rather very slightly improved over the years. I thought it had gotten worse when looking at the reviews of previous WOLEDs on RTINGS but if I understand it correctly it just seemed like that because they changed their testing methodology again. I already thought that my G1 had pretty bad gradation and now that finally makes sense. QD-OLED must be absolutely fantastic in that regard.
I came from an S95B and 80% PC game on a 4090 and 20 percent HDR movies. Its a 55" at a desk used as a PC monitor. I upgraded to an S95D 55" a few weeks ago. Can't decide if I like the S95D or not. It sure looks different. Thinking about trying a G4. I don't have much issue with ambient light. What would your recommendation be between the G4 and S95D for my use case?
Thanks for all the hard work gents and another banger video. Would like to see a comparison of each tv with the wow factor turned to max...set live color and contrast enhancment to medium on the a95l.
Fun stream Fomo! 99% of consumers would be happy with either of these excellent TVs in their home. I'd choose the S95D personally for the gaming features.
I purchased 65-A95L for $2800 so I am still satisfied on other features like center lift Bravia Core and other features that work with STR AZ3000ES receiver such as 360 sound mapping and calibration IX.
Great video. Thank you! G4 seems impressive, it does seem to have a slightly cool temperature to it overall. The Sony has that Sony warmth that I've always liked. Maybe the G4 could be calibrated to get closer to that overall tone? Looking at an 83" OLED to replace my Sony A9G. Motion handling looks much improved, how about gradation smoothing? Also, the G4 seems like it has better clarity and detail. Maybe that is the color tine playing tricks on me!
I wanted the A95L, but just couldn't justify another $1000 dollars and tax. We bought a 77 inch LG G4 and super excited for delivery this Saturday. Coming from a 55 inch LG CX. I hope I see a noticeable difference in brightness and color!!
@@AndyM4CX dude I saw that deal and almost bought it, but I had a $1500 store credit at Best Buy so I was stuck purchasing there. They delayed delivery until next Saturday unfortunately. So now I just keep watching RU-vid videos about it lol. 😂
The Samsung QD-OLED's vibrant colors are visually appealing. However, our perception of colors differs in real-world scenarios. In the presence of a bright light source, colors are initially less visible until our pupils adjust. While colors become more apparent, their brightness diminishes. Until televisions can achieve the same brightness levels as the brightest real-world objects, they must simulate the blinding effect on our eyes. In this regard, WOLED technology comes closer to replicating real-world experiences. For HDR content with small, exceptionally bright elements, achieving higher brightness is crucial, even if it results in a whiter appearance. In such instances, reducing color saturation enhances realism. In non-real-world simulation scenarios, such as gaming, QD-OLED displays with highly saturated bright colors provide a more visually pleasing experience, akin to how our eyes perceive colors after adapting to a brighter environment.
If it wasn't for that blooming I would buy the S95D in a heartbeat. Yet the more I see the S95D in a light controlled environment the more I like it. I thought i was sold on the G4 but LG still seem to push green. Whites are brighter but for some reason whites on S95D look more accurate and more natural. Not worth waiting for a Sony QD-Oled release. Love my A95L but was such a hassle ordering it I had to pay a premium over the already premium price. I need multiple displays this year and just not worth going through that again.
Maybe a calibrated G4 will also look right? Or at least since it is a new alpha 11 processor, LG probably did not push everything it can deliver yet, I recommend to wait and see after some updates.
Its the video camera that is hard to capture OLED TV due to self-emissive so the video camera has a hard time to find the right white balance. In real life with eyes, I see it white, but on video camera it shows more magenta on QD-OLED and more cyan in WOLED.
I'm still happy an rocking my 65" C1. From everything I have seen I think I'm 100% Good until 2026. Its when my 5 years runs out anyway. But I don't see anything that makes me want to jump out and go give a company a whole bunch of money for another TV. I will stick with LG tho when I do..
Wanted to see motion comparison with all of them having best motion settings (mainly g3 and g4 cinematic movement at same time) but from what i can tell g4 is a step up in movement which ia important to me. If only big boi sizes came with a stand and a better remote LG would be the one for me
@@wingedhussar1453 I went 77 a95l cause it comes with a stand and a real remote. Picture is great but some issues with audio so I can't really recommend it
The G4 seems very impressive. It has fantastic HDR impact while retaining accuracy as well as possible, but the near-black and low-luminance colors really seem improved and that is what needed improvements the most on OLED. Adding 144 Hz support and better color volume in game mode this one‘s a real winner. Any thoughts on gradation? Did it somewhat catch up to the QD-OLEDs original is it still as bad as the G3 especially for gaming?
Great video and thanks for the hard work. I am not so experienced as you guys, so if i would buy the 95D which settings do i need to choose? There are soo many options, that dont know what to do....can you guys help?
Filmmaker mode in Static tone mapping for accurate dark room watching and Active tone mapping for brighter environments. Contrast Enhancement at Medium to High for more pop. Motion judder on 3 to avoid stutter. Dynamic mode for sports or max brightness content
You guys are great and are much appreciated. I have a Sony Bravia 7 in my LV- mostly for the wife who likes a very bright picture. We watched Frozen Empire, in DV, which is jaw dropping. I have an opportunity to get an 83" G3 for the bedroom (non MLA) for 3700 do you think I can get the same level of light and jaw dropping experience in Frozen Empire? I just would love to have an OLED with better contrast but can't go down in size and can't afford 6k for the G4. Thanks
I'm returning my s95d strictly because of the broad diffusion of light on the screen... its like a big blur of light, rather than a pinpoint reflection. I find it very distracting on dark scenes.
What can you tell me about your specific setup? At best Buy, I really loved the anti-glare screen, but I don't know how it will look in my house. I don't want to be in a position where I'll need to return it.
Hi, nice streaming, missed it but. I am wondering if I should replace my 2020 CX with a G4? I watch movies and TV shows in HDR mostly and play PC games with a RTX 4090
Unless you aim for a bigger screen, keep CX for atleast 2 years.Every gaming feature except 144Hz ( which was very marginal) over 120Hz is present in CX
Seems like Sony is just consistent in every test though I'm not sure why the g4 was ridiculously white compared to the other 3 on that face tone test!?
Keep in mind folks, you're watching a RU-vid video about the nuances of some of the best TV's that have ever been produced - in a 1440p format. Do yourself a favor and do this comparison in real life. Dolby Vision vs HDR10/HDR10+ does have visual differences, significantly more visual differences than you'll be able to see this rendered video. Part of the reason I purchased an A95L is because it finally supports Dolby Vision in 120hz 4k for xbox. I also pay extra for the Dolby Vision streaming ability with Prime. It does make a difference if you can visually see them.
Great stream Fomo. Love being able to see all these like this. Hope you do more, yes even miniLEDs. How come the G3 many times showed more color than the G4? Is it because the G4 is brighter so it loses color on camera? Is it because G3 is calibrated? 36:18 for example, the G3 looks more colorful. 1:0250 same thing here. I've seen demos of the G4 being able to push more color than G3. Maybe that is outside FMM? It just seems like the G4 isn't more colorful than the G3 in most content here which is perplexing. At least it should be even but it looks more faded than G3. I don't get it. G4 I like because of features and gaming seems near flawless for PC this year 144Hz and fixed problems. I am still wanting to know a lot about the new Sony MiniLED. I know it's not OLED contrast. But I always have bias light behind my TV when watching anything. It will have other advantages I think. But remains to be seen.
@@spookyman9994 Even if calibrated. It's weird it showed more colors and vibrancy. But it could be an illusion in that the G4 is brighter and hence showed more washed out look. Other demos I seen G4 was always more colorful. But maybe film maker mode defeats that?
I personally would get the S95D for my family because we like Tizen OS better than Google TV, and for our console gaming needs, the S95D is a better gaming TV than the A95L. Dolby Vision is not a "must have feature" for me but Samsung's Game Motion Plus is definitely better than anything Sony has for game mode. S95D is also brighter for sports in a bright room when the lights are on and room is lit up. BUT if it was a man cave for only movie watching, I'd get the A95L with the Quad Theatre system. On Sale 65" S95D $2789 for AAA members howl.link/j6obu1xcp1l2l and at BB $3100 howl.me/cnawkcO1MVa
@@stopthefomo Thank you very much for the answer. I will be mainly playing video games, but I'm afraid of the matte finish in S95D. The A95L is also more expensive than the S95D.
I haven’t bought a tv in years and I want to get one soon. I am split between the G4 and the A95L. Also, I recently read about the G4 HDMI 2 (eARC) issue. Has it been resolved?. Good job on the video and May Jesus bless you all. Amen.
Isnt the test with the glare kinda off? I mean if you would reposition the lamp and/or the camera then the reflection might appear more on one of the other screens, its just more on the A95L because of the position of the lamp and the camera.
I am about 7/10 feet away from the tv (my wall mount extends) and my room has a big window but unusually bring the blinds down and my lights are dimmable. Should i go S95D 65, A95L 65, G4 65 or S90C 77?
Normal/Light room -> buy S95D Dark room with some small light/s -> G4 Dark room with no lights at all -> any of them (cheapest) I watch most of my thing with multiple lights or open windows. Never dark. Bad for my eyes as I use TV or monitor for my whole day. So there is no doubt in my mind that I need S95D. It's a new moth-eye.
Is there different tone mapping settings/modes in Sony A95L? In my sony xe9305 it has 2 cinema modes, cinema pro, cinema home and only difference is how they tonemap hdr image, other clipping hovers around 1800nits and other around 3000 nits.. (sure this depend on content..smaller highlights, whole screen..) I imagine that could do something to that clipping on horse scene..
Hi! Yes you can change the tone mapping on the A95L, they just left it in its most accurate mode Gradation Preferred. The A95L can actually be brighter than what they showed here.
I want to get a G4 but I feel like the magenta tint on the left side of the screen will bother me. What are the chances that the G5 next year will finally solve LG's panel uniformity issues?
Nice TV’s too bad they are all out of my price range and I need an 85”. Any word on the new Hisense mini-led U8N. Maybe that one will be close enough to these TV’s without breaking the bank?
Am I the only person who just finds qd-oled just more soothing to view? I have an s95b as well as 2 lg woleds, and even in sdr content, there is something, aside from brightness, that makes the tv nice to look at.
Can we have a copy of the video uploaded on mega or google drive in its original bitrate? RU-vid comprseses every thing way too much. You get a view anyways.
Good morning everyone, I'm leaning heavily towards the 77" LG G4, but I'm curious if anyone can confirm that the G4 does indeed have Google Chromecast built-in. I know it's a simple feature, but it's a feature that I use daily on my current tv. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond. Have a great day!
OLED is not for bright rooms for only thing they have is that dark , and in a bright room , LCD TV can have the darks as good as needed . Good ones . OLED is for what you see here , dark or dim rooms .
Loess have been great for years now all the pictures are great especially if the likes of Amazon Netflix uploaded better image quality most people don’t even get to see what these tvs can do most of the time
Main thing i can tell is sony has the best motion handling where everything looka super crisp and no soap ipera effect while samsung looka soft in motion and has smoothness
Yes the Sony and g4 are awesome. But I just got this week the s89c 77 for 39.5% the cost of the Sony. I know I will not get 2.5 times the enjoyment from the Sony. The best is never the best value. I felt the 89c was such an amazing value that was why I bought it. Also because of Brian's and Kevin's recommendations. Not to mention I get Xbox with it. I'm very very happy with it. Love your guys' work.
Amazing comparison FOMO thanks a lot alph 11 on G4 is working in every single feature I am very impressed with OOTB's accuracy I think G4 is a better value than all of them shopping in this tier you expect top of the line features and excellent and calibrated picture Samsung anti-glare.... not a fan to say at least looking for a game mode live stream 😅
@@stopthefomo thanks a lot! I also have partner discount for LG G4 and I can get 77 inch at 3k along with their home theatre. I now torn between G4 and S90 though I prefer not to buy from partner site as there is no return policy. How good is the motion processing in s90d compared to g4?
It’s a pretty big jump from the A9G to any of these. The A9G is awesome, but these have addressed many issues from the past and have improved upon a lot. You will definitely notice the difference right away with any of these models.
@@jinchuriki26 You’re welcome! If you do upgrade, thank me later! Let me know which one you got if you remember also….l may have a picture settings video up for it.
@@stevenhocking6407 I have a LG C2, I can 100% confirm that all SD content has forced overscan without possibility to disable it. I cant confirm it for other Samsung and LG models though, but Im pretty sure.
Look at 52:45 and watch it from there for a couple of minutes. Im 100 PERCENT sure this is a paid ad. You can see how Fomo realizes that both the S95D and A95L are better than the LG G4 and he desperately tries to find scenes that dont show the vastly superior performance of both the S95D and the A95L. When both of them finally realize that the G4 (Despite being in its most aggressive dynamic tonemapping setting that is totally inaccurate!) still cant even come close to the QD-OLEDs, Brian starts to yell about "LOOK AT THOSE WHITES!" LG is paying influencers and it shows!
Sony's processing is just superior. If they ( Samsung display/ Sony ) made an 83" and it was $5,000 I would pull the trigger. Otherwise... I just sit back and wish. I hate the LG operating system though. LG's processing is really good but once you see the Sony everything else is 2nd best. Maybe if the 83" G4 drops to $4,500 I'll go back to LG. The 83" just hits different, I have 2 other Sony's and want to stay in the fam but no 83" on the tv I want means no upgrade. ☹️
Reference-level accuracy is quite unimpressive these days. It doesn't look very good, and most people would agree with this, although they might not express it openly. People in the AV world often get caught up in what they are supposed to like, based on what experts tell them is "right," and they end up disregarding their own preferences. When looking at someone like Quantum TV, who compares his settings with filmmaker mode, his settings tend to look significantly better. Although many people think this, they struggle with the mental block that it’s wrong to deviate from the director's intent, even if it leads to a better visual experience. I used to fall into the same category, but thankfully, I broke free because these new panels are indeed capable of so much more. Almost everyone who watches Quantum TV's settings comparisons with filmmaker mode thinks his settings look considerably better. However, we then rationalize that it’s wrong to prefer them. Ultimately, we are only hindering ourselves and limiting our displays. I can assure you that deviating from reference standards does not detract from content; it enhances it. Personally, I'm very glad I broke free of that trap.
Hopefully you aren’t going based on RU-vid videos. But yea if you’re talking in general then I get your point. But I do think accurate contrast is important. Depends what you’re watching / doing though.
also depends on your viewing environment - accurate picture settings designed for a dark room as "the creator intended" is not watchable in a normally lit living room
Director’s Intent was SPOKEN for in Busineess school that -SONY bribed Hollywood millions of Dollars thru Lobeying n Aquire them to USE SONY TV. So later they can Claim “my tv is MOST accurate “ cus Dahhhh. Its the same thing if BOEING send ppl to creat Air Traffic/plane safety standard--then later they can use THAT Standandard to measure 737-MAX call it SAFEST. Hollywood is paid off to use SONY TV from day one . The ENTIRE INDUSTY is around to CREAT the ilusion of what is Pristege. N ppl will fallow. The same psychology that they CREATED what is--HOT guys look like. They all went from stoic cute face guys turn into CRUSTY square face over juiced up beef 🥩 cakes. Now 25% of boys 16 when they workout, they are on somewhat steroids . ANY brand knows if they can CREAT the HYPE/reference. They can Dictate n control the Market. Human , our BRAIN 🧠 are d MOST biased when we thought we are smartest. 😊
I agree here a bit. film maker mode turning off all processing disables what makes the TVs stand apart. It's basically just a little color difference between QD and WOLED. But when you can do some processing and play around. That is when you see a little more fun and difference.
I would say the a95l is lacking in the highlights and is a bit blurry s95d has really good color contrast black levels ratio g3 seems washed but has good highlights the g4 seems to be better than the a 95l in comparison i would get the g3 the g4 or the s95d
I don't know about 'loving Samsung" because the Sony A95L is still my favorite TV for movie watching but the G4 has now replaced the S95C/95D/90C as my all around TV for everything - this thing is a satisfying BEAST because the G4 is easily the beats all TVs for sports watching and when you add that to gaming? This thing definitely rocks so you can count BOTH of us at G4 fans this year!
@@stopthefomo When you get the chance, you or someone else who has the hardware really needs to test the 95D and the G4 with 144 hz gsync/vrr enabled and some high end gaming. I have the S95C now, chose this one over the G3 due to the G3 issues with game mode colour stuff. However, I love the colours and stuff on my S95c, but there's just too many little things that frustrate the hell out of me, mainly image cutouts. PC is connected directly to my S95c, from my RTX 4090. EARC to get sound to my AVR. I do get a lot of sound cutouts when listening to atmos/5.1 surround stuff, like dd+. When listening to Mike Oldfield's 5.1 albums, which has dolby digital, there's about two cutouts per song (granted, a song takes about 20 minutes). However, my previous LG C9 also had this issue, so I'm not blaming Samsung for this, might be nvidia's fault. Dolby Access app for windows is a mess aswell, so I gave them a pass. However, I never had video cutouts with my C9. Now, with the S95c, 144 hz is unusable, even when just browsing having the desktop open or browsing, whatever. So it's not just with gaming, 144 hz on your desktop is a nightmare. 120 hz was stable, but the tv was advertised as 144 hz.. However, a few days ago, a Samsung technician replaced a part of the one connect box (77" screen, so it comes with the one connect box, sadly) , which many people say is the reason for the video dropouts (maybe because of the 40 gb cap on the box). The first day was great: 144 hz was working with zero cutouts. However, yesterday and today I had about 40 video cutouts in total, on 120 hz for crying out loud. Instead of solving the problem, the problem is worse than ever. If I knew this back then, I'd never bought the S95c. Too much stress. So I really hope you and others can test the more high end settings regarding gaming/pc use, with both the G4 and the 95D. I get it's only a very small % of people for who this is relevant, but boy, it's so important right now, because many people feel duped by Samsung for this mess.
@@stopthefomovideos are getting far too long. I recommend you time box what you need to do and stick to it…another option is to create a 10 mins best off after. Same as nba highlights of a game. I guarantee you that it will work much better…(keep both format so everyone happy).
