Bring Me the Horizon’s, Oli Sykes, talked about his view on ‘controversial’ topics, with APTV’s Ryan J. Downey at Louder Than Life festival last week. Skyes talked about distinguishing jokes from serious comments and his opinion on political correctness saying of his sometimes shocking onstage banter, “I’m actively trying to find the most offensive thing to come out of my mouth. I don’t mean it.” -Heather Mulgannon

I love how this interviewer was just able to have a good conversation with him,Oli looked really comfortable talking about these sorts of issues and it was like the camera wasn't on and they were having a normal conversation.

I think it's just more visible now, and people have more time to waste being pissy. People have always been whiney little cunts. Just listen to a group of old church people from the bible belt if you wanna see some real weak minded shit. I agree with this interview so much, like any time I want to say something about racism or sexism or mental disorders or different sexualities or anything, I feel like I have to choose every word I say super carefully or else everyones gonna get offended or call me racist or whatever and its so fucking annoying, bc I know im not racist and im not saying anything racist but if I use a wrong word I get called that

Please Please PLEASE. Do yourself a favour and watch this with closed captioning. The interviewer actually said "You're not preaching to people and you're not pretending" but the closed captioning says "You're not reaching people and you're not pretty" 1. His music does reach out to people 2. He is very pretty

my favorite songs from this album are drown, happy song, true friends, avalanche, blasphemy, and follow you, but the entire album is amazing. my favorite songs by bmth overall have to be drown, true friends, blasphemy, can you feel my heart, and the snakes start to sing, sleepwalking, and shadow moses.

watching this 4 years later, reminded me of something I thought the first time I ever spoke to Oli after a show: It's funny how like, 90% of people I meet who write lyrics and poetry (inlcuding myself) are absolute shit at talking face to face with actual humans and it's almost agonizing to hear them try to, lol.
