@04:24 Angle grinder with 1mm disc works great but don't forget to tape it off with a non-plastic tape, as stuff like ducktape or electrical will gum/melt up. Great video, thanks. edit; mind you, the tape is handy with fittings if you have to push in the stainless braid... the plastics/molten tape will adhere stronger to the ends, pulling the strands up/out which can be anywhere between mildly bothering to wildly infuriating.
I understand that the Jubilee Clips are easier to work with - but given how beautiful all of the other parts you make are, I would sure want to use AN fittings for the oil return. Maybe just make the AN fitting and let people build their own hose - time consuming, but not that hard actually.
Hello there, I have a question/ suggestion. I have been thinking a lot about diesel tuning and petrol tuning and I think what it comes down to, the biggest issue of diesel tuning is drive train, the engines make too much torque and thus you need super beefy everything, way beefier than for a petrol engine of the same horsepower. So here my question/ suggestion, why don't you make or get made reduction gear plates, to put between the gearbox and the engine, possibly even before the clutch. I mean all it comes down to is too much horsepower at too small rpm, if you just increased the rpm after the engine to that of a petrol engine comparable in horsepower, you could run full petrol equipment behind. And since you'd just need one constant mesh gear set, it wouldn't need to be thick or heavy. Plus I am very certain you'd save a lot of weight overall, if you could stick say a 350 z drivetrain behind an OM606, just by using a one gear intermittent plate.
I love your videos I just started fallowing you I think diesel engines are amazing! I have a Mercedes w123 with the 3.0liter 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine . Can you please tell me if this engine is any good ? and if there is a stronger fuel pump I can install ? and what hp limits it can handle on stock internals please.
Hi Luke! Do you have any experience with superchargers on OM606? im thinking eaton M90 for example. Is it good to use or should i go for a compound setup instead? Would love some input or maybe a video on that, Thanks.
I’m going to have a nice supercharger video soon, we have two high end units to compare, not used take offs from jags etc. The main area to address is the front balancer and a good double pulley, you will see a post about this soon. Compound does not work well on om606 in comparison to a good sized single.
Hi, just started watching your video's with the one about the cummins12v. Forgive me if it was just a one off and the dog is not usually there. Big dogs should have something soft to lie on. When they lie on a hard surface they develop hard patches on their skin. That fur is likely to hide this as I see it a lot in English and Bullmastiff breeds.
What power could you see out of this setup? Standard manifold and hx30. Got one of your pumps on my boat still going strong. Can be seen on my channel, I’ll be in touch again soon for another pump for something with wheels this time. DTE
Amazing, would you mind to explain how can we go increase torque without hp or vice versa? Because I am wondering why hilux 1KD FTV which is 3000 cc engine has quite good horse power however it has bad torque. On the other hand the new Toyota engine which i have 2GD FTV 2400 cc has power hp but amazing torque all them desil can u explain that how small engine both turbos can overcome big one?
