I just bought this exact Seamaster. Photos and videos really don’t do the gray dial justice. The light play of the sun is extremely eye catching. The rubber strap is comfortable and very modern. The hands aren’t painted blue they are chromed blue which pops with luxury.
Now I'm a Seamaster owner, I can honestly say u really don't notice the helium escape valve at all, in fact its become part of the Seamaster look since the the 300m was introduced as the new Bond watch in the mid 90's, along with that bracelet & the scalloped bezel
Also bought (and quickly sold) a Seamaster, and yeah if anything the helium escape valve was just kinda fun to play with and cool to have. But you definitely don't notice it when you're not using it.

I just bought this as my first luxury watch and I couldn't be happier with it. I went with the white dial with metal bracelet. Its my "money no object" watch also. I'm tempted to get another in the colours shown on this video just because its so beautiful.

I have this exact model newly purchased from an AD, I absolutely love it ! I love the Tag Aguaracer 5 also, I don't care about the Taq hate, I'm getting one also! Buy what you want, wear what you want, watches are for you not everyone around you.
I've got both black and blue smooth dial smpc and I absolutely adore them. They seem to be ignored on yt and social media which is why i think they're a future classic
Totally agree. There's a lot to like - (finally) success with the co-axil integration into the ETA movement, ceramic bezel insert with the grey text, flat He valve crown, no-wave dial, reasonably thin. I've got the blue one and would love to pick up a black version! Future classic for sure.
I’m very happy with mine. I have the all black one with rubber strap and the amount of shine makes the colours appear as if it’s white and grey depending on the way the light hits it. It’s a beautiful bit of kit and the things you don’t like are so trifling that it shows how good a job they did!
The beauty of this timepiece is it’s perfectly imperfect. I’ve owned it for nearly 2 years now, I still love staring at my wrist at the mesmerizing dial.
Based on the reasons you’ve figured to nitpick the watch, you’re basically telling us that the watch is pretty much perfect because those are some terrible reasons to nitpick.
The white seems more at home on the SM than the Pelagos~ it works in my opinion. And a HE valve is much less annoying than a cyclops~ it doesn't bug me, although it isn't necessary (nor is the cyclops). The waves should indeed... flow. And I'm also not a fan of the 007 bit. There is no perfect watch~ but right now, I thing the SM is the best (all-round) luxury diving package one can buy.

You are wrong. The Bond films are actually docudramas, there are some added scenes with famous heroic actors of the time but the majority of the films are the real thing and were filmed during Jamie's actual missions. They obviously superimposed the actors head into the frames because the real Bond had a face like a slapped arse.
Just bought mine a, month ago, black dial on steel bracelet, moving up from a 1980s Tag Heuer Classic 2000, and the ownership experience has been sublime. I often forget to tell the time when i look at it for the time... So mesmerising to just admire it. I haven't found an angle i didn't like to look at it yet. The only wish i have is the rotor at the back was skeletonised, so that i could see more of the movement. Now to buy a loupe...
I actually prefer the white script in the bezel. Metalized numbers can darken at certain angles, while white digits remain legible all the time. The full set of minute markers on the bezel also make it easier to read elapsed minutes, which is something commonly overlooked on divers.
If you think Omega's Bond pushing is cringeworthy it's nothing compared to Rolex's golf adverts trying to align themselves to golfing greats. That is truly pathetic.
Or the F1 ads, not a single driver is seen wearing their watches but they've got the logo plastered everywhere. It's all IWC, TAG, RM, Hublot, and Bremont
@@diavalus I doubt ALS would look down at JLC as they where involved in the brand rebirth by providing watchmaking expertise. I think the problem with JLC is that they still sale sub 10k€ watches but the Hybris collection is second to none. I still have mad respect for ALS finishings and designs.
Recently bought the white dial one as my first ever luxury watch and I must say it’s unbelievable. Never knew how much depth a watch can have, I found myself staring at the dial and sinking into its depths many times. And the quality and finishing are amazing - for the price range of course. Such a piece of beauty! Oh and it gets so many compliments even from people who know nothing about watches :)

I bought it for it’s water resistance. I had made a list of three dive watches, and at the end i chosen for the Seamaster, exactly the ref of the video. Lucky for me to have the wrist size that made for a 42mm Seamaster. Now i am considering an Aqua Terra. So i continue with Omega. It is 43mm watch, so new discoveries. I have a 43mm watch, but every watch wear always a bit different, so it is always a surprise a watch brand made your perfect watch. The journey, the joy, and fun, watches make you a WIS quicker than you think possible.
How Omega still haven’t made a no date version of this blows my mind. Several of their collab/limited versions come without dates, and there’s definitely a market that’d go for it

Was wondering why this video had so many dislikes but now I get it. I can't say I've ever totally disagreed with every point in a video before until now. And I own a new Seamaster... have had it for almost a year. Wonderful. Hard to find any faults at all tbh. Certainly none pointed out in this video, IMO.
You should know this: The clasp on the bracelet is prone to malfunction. The pushers can get stuck. Mine did when it was less than a year old. The watch was literally stuck on my wrist until I used a needle nose pliers to pull the pusher back out. If you google this issue, you shall see that this happens a lot with the SMP300 clasp. I cannot believe Omega hasn't corrected this flawed design issue. I am on a personal crusade to raise awareness of this issue.
Love this! The 300M is stunning - I made a video for my channel on this beautiful watch but mine is the blue strap, blue bezel and blue dial - together it absolutely pops!
I wasn’t going to wait years for a Rolex, so it was a no brainer, I got the blue dial with metal bracelet, it looks black in low light conditions and blue outside, the accuracy is extremely good over a one month period it gained 0.04 seconds per day, it’s probably the best watch for the money.
I have the black dial variant. Its my daily wearer and I absolutely love it. I own several Rolex including the GMT 2 Batman and if I had to choose one watch from my collection and sell the rest, my Seamaster would be safe.
Wow that’s quite the statement, I appreciate having the white/black dial and seem to enjoy more as times passes. Unfortunately I haven’t had the chance to appreciate Rolex yet, very nearly bought a milgause... in time hopefully or the polar explorer 2.
I've owned the black dial, stainless steel bracelet from not long after launch. Enjoyed this video, says it all that all criticisms are subjective. Probably only thing I would change is making the He valve slightly smaller. In terms of size 42mm is the sweet spot for me and this watch doesn't wear big on my average wrist.
I personally prefer the white numbers in the ceramic dial and the Helium valve at 11am, reminds me I have a luxury item on my hand since Luxury is having more than you will ever need. Bond wore a Rolex in the books because they were Flemming's alter ego, if he would have been a watch man back then he would have given Bond the blancpain 50 fathoms.
I have this watch. Only complaints are the date is tough to see ( it’s too recessed) and the skeletonize hands do not do the lum justice on the minute hand.
The white bezel text is fine with the white dial version but agree it hits too white on the other dial colors. It could be smaller and thinner but it is a dive watch after all.
Can't help it; Goldeneye is my favourite Bond film. Without that influence I'm not sure I look at this watch the same way, but it's now ingrained in me that this watch is the coolest sports/dive watch around. I feel the same about a Parker Jotter pen. I just can't decide on which colour to get.
Thx for your great videos! Just to extend the list for this wonderful watch. I think the most annoying thing about the Seamaster is the anti-reflective coating on the outside of the saphire chrystal, an applied weak point that attracts scratches…
James Bond as a person isn’t real but the fun associated with the movie series and the memories watching the movies are. Still remember when I was little my dad explaining what was happening in the movie for me while we watch it together. Bought a seaweed version and couldn’t be more happy about it.
The white is not an issue for me. My five would be the Toothpaste cap HEV, AR on top of the crystal that scratches (it should just be on the underside), the bezel not being lumed, the bezel being hard to turn vs a coin edge style and lastly the bracelet not being tapered.
I have a 2010 quartz, and a 2017 ceramic, I've yet to get this incarnation, but omega seamaster 300m is a watch to behold one of the best divers ever, not convinced about the moon landing.
The size put me off of this watch for years until I discovered that they made the midsize 2551.80 and I snapped that up. Fixes some of the points in this video - smaller size, "normal" shaped helium escape valve, not so bright bezels numbers and a much nicer wavy dial.
I have this watch with the exact same colour scheme and I find the calendar hard to read. The black and white version seems way easier even at a glance.
I got the white dial...beautiful... only complaint is the second crown, (the helium one) not needed i think, and spoils the look, if I were at only 3 metres depth i'd be drowning mate, would not be worrying about helium!!!!!!
Previous SMP was my first luxury watch. At that time I could not have picked other watch that represents heritage, looks, finish and premium experience with shinny wodden box. I'm loving it every day. If you are looking for your first luxury watch go with this one. You will not be disappointed.
Isn't the minute hand and the dot on the bezel of this watch supposed to be with Green lume while the rest is in Blue? at 9:32, even the minute hand seems to be with Blue lume. Can someone let me know if that is a recent change and if yes, is the green lume minute hand newer or the blue one?

anyway, just curious, is the new omega seamaster bezel have some fraction of a mm "play" on the bezel? its like the bezel have a bit of give movement...really tiny side to side movement..is it normal? its like tiny bit loose but i know its not actually loose...and have small metallic sound when you tap the bezel...some people said that's not flaw as long as there is perfect alignment, but i don't know, what do you think? i was quite panic when i first received the watch. I used to owned breitling avenger chrono 43 mm and i feel breitling bezel is rock solid and a bit stiff to turn (well sometimes too stiff to turn).
The Seamaster with the black ceramic bezel and white dial with red accents... Now that is a gorgeous watch. I'd much rather have an Omega than the equivalent Rolex these days.
God willing, this will be my wedding gift to myself come November 2022. If so, it'd be my first luxury watch, and I can't think of any better reason to get one.
Just bought 4 paularies sea masters for £120 with the 007 logo stamped on the side .They are automatic and keep perfect time .The 007 logo is not included with the omegas fake price tag .
Lovely watch, but the scalloped bezel and skeleton hands are difficult to turn and read in cold dark waters....i got rid of mine because of these reasons.....never liked the wart or non--tapering bracelet either. This is where the Tudor Pelagos has the SM300 beat everytime.
