One of the best videos I’ve seen thus far for garmin. I’ve been torn between garmin and humminbird for months now but I think this has made my mind up. Thanks for the great video
i will never be torn again between garmin and humminbird. humminbird does not work very well with repairing simple problems to unit going out of production. Actually acted like they had the God complex. And the bigger reason, Garmin is superior and much more operator friendly.
@@braddunn9960 I've had the same experience. Had a helix just totally go nuts. It was as if all buttons were being pushed simultaneously. The boat and graph were both only 3 months old. It had only been used a few times. I took it to the dealer who was dealing with humminbird. They jacked around and refused to call back or look at it until the warranty was up. I was going back and forth with them for months and months. This was last year and I haven't had a graph on the front of my boat since. I'm gonna go all Garmin. I'll never buy a humminbird product again after my experience with them.
Hey Josh, I built a livescope bundle for myself and my 93sv uhd came with the 54uhd transducer you’re talking about here. When I go out in my boat and start running side view and down view, will the 93sv automatically switch from the lsv32 to the 54uhd? Hopefully this makes sense. You guys are putting out awesome content and I won’t hesitate to order my next products from you guys.
Josh...I heard a reviewer who suggested the WXGA displays of the Echomap Ultras actually give a better Livescope visual experience than the FHD screens on the 86xx units. The thought was Livescope just is not a really hi rez experience and so the FHD screens tend to make it "look worse". Would you agree?
I am from Quebec Canada. The species we fish is the speckled trout, the characteristic of this one is that it is held in less than 30 feet. The main technique to catch it is by trolling with a spoon followed by a hook with a worm. Of course it is quite rare with my Humminbird Mega Live G2N Si to distinguish these specimens even with the traditional sounder because as soon as one approaches them the shadow of the boat makes them flee immediately. In these circumstances if I acquire a Garmin GPSMAP 1222 with Panoptix Livescope System Touchscreen Chartplotter an investment of 4310 $ Canadian that can give me a certain advantage in the capture of this trout
You said you can use the Active Captain app but that you can't record with the Garmin Echomap Ultra 106SV/126SV. Can you record with the Active Captain app on the Garmin 106SV? THANK YOU AND GREAT GARMIN VIDEOS!!!
I just got the 126SV with livescope The GT56 will not fit my trolling motor How much capability will I lose mounting on the transom and livescope on the trolling motor?
I was hoping to learn out of this video the initial set up of this unit and livescope out of the box. Do you have to go thru the settings and make the unit recognize the built-in universal transducer or the livescope?
Now that the GT56 is coming out...what is the least expensive head unit that has can handle that transducer and also have a higher screen resolution than the echomap plus 93sv? Would that be the new GPS map 943xsv?
If you have a unit at the helm , and a unit at the bow for livescope... Can you run a main thick gauge wire from the back battery to the console and piggy back the rest of the distance off that to the bow unit and the livescope control unit or should 3 separate power leads be run to each of the electronics directly from a rear battery?
Greetings, I just purchased the echomap uhd 94 w/transducer . I want to add livescope, what do I need to purchase? Can the livescope run in uhd? Thank you for your time. God Bless!
have you heard if Garmin is going to get some larger sizes of the echomap ultra hd series or if they have any technology that is superceding this current hd technology?
You said your transducer was on trolling motor so what do you do when your running Lake Erie after Walleye with a kicker motor. is there 2 ports and you need to run 2 transducers. if so what 2 are needed
Why does he praise the Sidevü? And why does he use 455kHz? So close to the bushes but still such a bad Sidevü picture. Even if the front motor did not turn at times, the picture does not look good. Sorry, other companies can do it better.
Scott Stanton I would dare say they are relatively close. I came from a Helix 9 Mega SI/DI (not the current Mega + they have now). I have the 126sv and I don’t feel like I lost anything.
It's comparable to a Gen 1 Helix. However the Gen 2 Helix, the Gen 3 Helix, the Gen 1 Solix, and Gen 2 Solix look much better. And mega 360 is an added bonus. Not just for the 360 imaging but because it also provides side imaging as well. This means you can purchase a down imaging mega + unit and now have side and 360 on it - which saves a lot of $$$. Marketing videos are not the best way to judge. On the water or user reviews are much more informative.
J Pry this is what i’m wondering is how it compares to the mega on birds. what garmin did you compare it to and what frequency were you running? in this video he is running 455 instead of 1.2 so i want to see 1.2 vs MEGA side by side
Unfortunately, GT54 is designed for shallow waters. It provides mega Hz image in side view and 800 kHz image in down view, the higher the frequency, the shallower the depth. It is a trade-off.
i Have a Question If You Don't Mind That i Can't Find The Aser To I Have a Garmin Echomap 93sv plus ( Can You Pause And Zoom In on Something You See With Side Scan i Can't Figure It Out There Is Nothing On Line Or In The Manual Thanks
FRANK R ICE COLD yes you can. While in SideVu and you see something you’d like to zoom in on, swipe your finger down from the top of the screen, that will pause it and then you can zoom in with your fingers on the spot you want.
