I cannot thank you enough for this tech training video. This video helped me build out a Sharepoint Site with a calendar linked to Teams and Outlook that led to the biggest raise of my life and saved my company $16,000 a year from transitioning away from a system that didn't work half of the time.
Are you able to create an event in SharePoint and/or Teams and it works? I can only create an event in Outlook...the local version of Outlook, and it shows in Sharepoint and Teams. We don't use SharePoint, I just wanted to have a Group Calendar that is synchronized with Outlook and Teams. Oh, are you using Office 365 or Microsoft 365?
Hi Chris, You are right, One Calendar tab in Teams can be a step forward. I think more can be done to integrate outlook and teams. Reality is that outlook is there to stay and 100% transition to teams is not going to happen for a while.
So far this was not a Problem. I am struggling now to send an invitation to this SharePoint Group clanedar. I want various sharpoint Members to be able to invite the Group calender so an Event appears for everybody. Sure they can plan it in this calendar and invite their own email address, but is must work the other way around as well. How to i ger the email address of this calendar?
How can I get my team members to view this calendar in Outlook? In Sharepoint I’ve clicked on connect to Outlook but I am the only one in my group who can see this calendar in Outlook. Is there a way for my group to view in Outlook also?.
Thank you for presentation. This was exactly what I wanted to do. But, when I tried it today, it only works if the event is created in Outlook. I guess things have changed since this was presented. Well, it's Microsoft 365 now instead of Office 365. When I create an event in Teams or SharePoint, nothing happens. I have to create the event in Outlook and it will show up in the other applications. I have looked and looked and I tried a few things, but nothings works like it works in your presentation. Do I have to install Power Automate now or something to push the event to all applications now?
Hi, thank you for the very useful video. I have a question with regard to calendar in multiple TEAMS channel. Can these be integrated as well? I was wanting to have for eg. I am WFH on a particular day and can that be reflected in the multiple shared calendar's in the various TEAMS channel?
Thanks, Simpson! Go to the site where your calendar resides to site settings, regional settings. On "Define your work week" check "sun" and adjust "first day of week " to "Monday".
I have a shared calendar that is a copy of a coworkers calendar. I would like to import it into teams or outlook. I've imported the PST file but the calendar doesn't show in my outlook calendar. the only thing that shows is the notifications or events. any help would be great.

Please check the following. Are you using IE 11? If your SharePoint site has Minimal Download Strategy feature enabled, simply press "F5" to reload the current page. Make sure that "SharePoint Stssync Handler" is enabled in browser add-ons. (IE >> Manage Add-ons) Try adding your SharePoint site to "Trusted sites zone", Also uncheck "Enhanced Protected Mode" for the zone. Logged user must have at least "Read" permissions to SharePoint . "View Only" doesn't work.
@@KeaPointTechTips I have reviewed all of those things and was able to successfully sync my calendar. However, this only works for Windows computers, so it will not work for the whole team (which makes it not possible to use). It is also a hassle for those on Windows - which is something I will not move forward for use with my team. It should not be this problematic. Microsoft needs to fix these issues.
Hi, I done the Shared Calendar in Teams and Outlook. I notice that if I create an entry (e.g. a 2 hrs group meeting) directly in the Shared Calendar, the entry will appears in difference hours in my Outlook Shared Calendar. I am at GMT+8 but the Teams Shared Calendar entry seems to be at GMT-8. I have adjusted the Teams Shared Calendar 's Setting to GMT+8 but the outcome still the same. Any idea what is the issue?
@@KeaPointTechTips I thought only the Time Zone in the Shared Calendar setting. I searched and noted the Regional Setting, did the change and it is working now. Thanks a lot for your advises. :) Cheers .......
@@KeaPointTechTips BTW, I can't view the Shared Calendar in the mobile Outlook on the Android phone, is it by nature or there are some other setting that I need to perform on the mobile Outlook?
You can view the calendar in the phone via SharePoint mobile App. You can always write Power automate flow to pull the calendar entries to other systems.
