Metta World Peace shares the journey it took him to get over The Malice In The Palace #paulgeorge #podcastp #nbaplayoffs #losangelesclippers #nba #maliceintgepalace #detroitpistons
I have respect for Metta. He's a real honest person and smart as hell. I also have pretty severe Depression, and his openness regarding mental health sets a great example for the younger players going through the crazy first few years of their careers.
As a lifelong Pacers fan, I still can't get over it. That brawl messed up the whole team and threw away any championship aspirations that year. It happened to be Reggie's final season before retirement. From top to bottom, a full Pacers team were a better team than the Pistons that year. All wasted.
I dunno, I had the impression that the chemistry in the Pacers' locker room was getting a little heated that season leading up to the brawl anyway, but might be wrong on that.
Ron artest had really growed n you can see how a negative perception could be shined on a person who is not really negative at all! Perception is crazy n we all see things through different eyes
I wonder if one of the reasons he reacted the way he did was because he was contemplating retirement to take care of his home life. Went out on his on terms I guess in the heat of the moment and got a long suspension to get home right and think it over.
Metta isn't that type of person. He's very straightforward in his decisions and opinions. He's not scheming his way to a retirement/suspension like that. Looking at the type of person he was, he's not willingly subjecting himself and his family to the abuse that came after.
06:16 City of Indiana.... smh. I had no idea Indiana is a city. Dude played four seasons with the Pacers and didn't realize he played in the City of INDIANAPOLIS*. 😂😂
I always believe the NBA handle that wrong and the proof is how the fans are today at the game... hitting player with anything is dead wrong and nothing should happen to player there in a environment with lil protection. And these fans will do anything and say anything to them when given a chance... u hit a man with a beer and he loses his job #america
I thought it was gonna be pretending to take a nap on the scorer’s table so he didn’t have to fight Ben Wallace…and then finding some more “comfortable” opponents to fight, in the audience🤔
He was definitely worried about a tech. A technical knockout. You cannot tell me he wanted to fight Ben Wallace after that shove. You wanted to avoid a tech, so you held back from fighting Big Ben, but you risked a much worse punishment, and potentially more dangerous situation, by running in the crowd to fight fans? Bullshit. And since when is weight, when Ben was 240 himself, the determining factor to win a fight? Maybe Ron would have won that fight, but he was not going to throw fists with an enraged Ben Wallace. Let’s be real, how many people would want to catch those hands?
The reality is, Artest is just a psychopath. Simple as that. Can do all the therapy and such he wants, but he has a switch that once flipped, cant be turned off. Psycho.
