In todays video I swap out some infra red taps for some new non concussive press taps, re-seal shower trays, change some thermosteric radiator valves and repair an oil boiler

Great video Tom, the oil boilers are interesting to me as I only do NG. Poor show from the care home, I bet some plumbers would have walked away for the job. Have a peaceful weekend 👏👏👍

Yes I agree,used to repair/replace those taps when we had a contract for a certain pub chain,N.C.C. Taps are way better and you usually only need to replace the heads in the future,great video Tom.

Hi Tom, another great film there thank you, some nice jobbing about tasks in this film to keep you busy, although I would have walked away from the care home. I refuse to work in some so called care homes near me these days. Have a great weekend away and as always, take care, Tom. 👍👍👍

found with multisolv, cut the major lump of silicone out, then spray, its good for unsticking the film left. wonderfull stuff. love the vids mate 👍

The care home owner should be embarrassed Tom, the 'carerers' should have sorted it before you got there, maintenance issue, sounds like a lack of care, again you have gone beyond the call of duty, I bet you enjoyed your tea when you got home 😂

Jeez, some people have no pride Tom, just leave there rubbish everywere with an out of site, out of mind mentality. It's like everything with those infa red taps just another thing to go wrong. Were those no concussive on a blending valve? What make and model were thise grips Tom, they looked like a new addition. Keep up the good work and have a cracking weekend and bank Holiday.

Thanks for the support mate, they were on a blending valve, they are knipex cobras, I just cleaned them to look new, I've had them a while now, have a great weekend 👍

Another good video Tom Back in the day my work was gas breakdowns filling in with servicing and I found that the days went quickly although the odd big job to was always welcome. 👍

Hiya mate love the videos, just a tip for the sensor taps. Iv found when I'm having multiple fail off the tmv it's usually because the tmv is restricting the pressure so the solonoid won't open. Have a try if you get the same issue again. I only found out originally by replacing the taps and still having the same issue then went to the tmv... An expensive fix in the end hahah

I will certainly check that next time, most of the solenoids on these had been wet through due to water getting under the tap, thanks for the support mate

But if a tip when renewing silicone. Once I cut everything out I get the Deawalt blower in and dry it out as best as I can. This allows the silicone to really set in the gap and removes all the little shitty bits of debris too.

@@PlumbLikeTom it certainly speeds things up for me when jobbing and you can walk away knowing the silicone is setting where it’s hard to reach on a really dry surface.

Lost count of the amount of these taps i went out to, the most difficult job was to adjust the operating distance of the infrared sensor, it’s actually a two man job, also found solenoids on back to front

A bit of both, big jobs are nice when you can drop on and off as you know you always have work and somewhere to go, small jobs can be more profitable if you have enough and can fill the diary, thanks for the support mate, have a great weekend

That toilet sounded grim, I hope you loaded the price to compensate. I would either have charged an extra hour or walked. A half mask respirator with straps pulled tight and with an organic vapours filter will block any odour on this sort of task/ environment.

I've never installed an infrared sensor tap and not had issues with them. Can't stand them! Too many things to go wrong. Don't know how someone has managed to make something as simple as a tap so complicated!
