After all the repairs I seen, this one here looks like one that will actually hold up. If you follow these videos you notice some repairs just won't hold up, this one looks good. Good job guys, this repair should give good years service.
Definitely enjoy your videos. Most of the people in the video are wearing open toe shoes. That's brave atire when doing metal work. Gotta protect your feet. Much respect for being able to accomplish so much with limited resources.
I don’t know if that really limited resources. They have a welder, a lathe, large press, and other tools. Not really limited with resources for making things.
the man working the lathe was super skills, never fails to amaze me. All of the men in this shop are very meticulous about their workmanship and always turn out quality repairs. 👍😁🇺🇸
Love your videos, you two are the perfect team, your lathe work is fantastic, and his welding and cutting is first class, he could perform open heart surgery with the welder, thanks for sharing 👍😃
It seems that every truck is individual construction. Even if elements come from the same type, have to be rebuilt to fix to another. And of course most precision tool - piece of wire. They repair, ok "repair" trucks, they have several YT channels. They earn money. Have you seen any new tool in their workshop?
Although I can these guys are skilled, however the UV light from the cutting torch will burn his retina permanently and he will go blind. Just a pair of safety glasses would prevent this.
Apparently judging by the fact that this is at least the second bearing carrier that’s been replaced on this axle, maybe they should try either of two things: stop overloading the axle or replace it with a solid bearing carrier.
What a bad job. Incredible the dirt of the place. The men work squatting or sitting on the floor, wearing filthy clothes and wristwatch. Mechanics repair engines and equipment by throwing the parts on the dirty floor, there's garbage everywhere, and some bums sit around doing nothing ... Mechanics don't wear protective gear. Impressive the dirtiness of the place… And mechanics work smoking or talking on cell phones … Also, operating a lathe or sanders using long-sleeved shirts is extremely dangerous.
Apparently buying new is not an option for the cost factor. Multiple repairs probably keeps the repair shops in business and the vehicles back to earn a living. A balance of providing a living for all.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view !" Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam." Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!" Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..." Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!" Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky." Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction." Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?
What a disaster cutting the end off instead of rebalancing it. These front axles are poorly designed and not enough volume to them for the heavy trucks they have to support.
A estos pajarones se les quiebran las cañoneras poque pones unos paquetes de resorte de 40 hojas no hay flexión en el tren motriz todo el peso y los golpes los recibe la cañonera sin amortiguación....
"How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear, if there is none to preach? And how will they preach if they are not sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring peace, of those who bring good news! But not all obey the Gospel; for Isaiah says, Lord, who has believed our preaching? So faith is by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. But I say, have they not heard? Yes, indeed, for throughout all the earth their voice went out, and their words to the ends of the world." (Romans 10:14-18)
look at there shops. equipment, how can they do precise job?, no way , they can"t do ,look at there cars and trucks, some they are 70 years old, been repaired 100 times, that"s how they keep 350 million people busy ,
It is called making do....we did this years ago and it worked quite well for the time and frankly I don't know how many engines of my own have been assembled on the floor and they worked just fine and I'm sorry that you as an engineer are not impressed cause this is how it all started.
