I grew up with just CTR and didn't know that there were other crash bandicoot games without cars, so it was pretty weird seeing gameplay footage of crash walking around.

Same here. Crash Team Racing was my first Crash game, and I remember calling him "Naughty Dog", because of the intro. I don't think I played a Crash platformer until 2001

This is my favorite racing game. I'm in the same boat as Chris. I grew up on CTR not Mario Cart. I'm hella pissed that I had beat Nitro Fueled 100% twice because after the first time my ps4's hard drive crashed and then I 100% it again and my hard drive crashed again after I finally got all the skins and karts I wanted. So if I boot it up now I'm back to square 1 and I dunno if I have it in me to 100% the game a 3rd time.

I didn't have this game growing up, but I actually had one of those DEMO disks that Pizza Hut was selling with special deals at the time, and that was my first experience with this game. It also only had 3 maps. The first was single player, the second was 2 player, and the 3rd was 4 player.

I've done that on MK7. Got the blue shell, raced my way up to first for the experiment, and yes, is you are in first and have a blue shell, it becomes a suicide button.

True and it was such a sneaky move but its not as bad as is anymore since they added a new race mode that gives big rewards. The Classic V made them do it but Beenox is slowly trying to undo/supplement it with alternative options.
