I think Burger King can’t label their plant based burger as vegan because it’s cooked in the same place as the meat. So even though the burger is made with “vegan” ingredients, it won’t get the vegan certified label.

At Taco Bell I usually order the the 3 taco Supreme with refried beans instead of meat. I also like the nachos substituting beans for the meat. They are really good!

Burger king is plant based ingredients but not cooked on a separate grill to the normal burgers so it's not began due to cross contamination where as McDonald's cook their vegan burgers in an oven, not their burger grill so it is entirely vegan

I just had the mcplant at one of the few us test locations a couple weeks ago. I’ve been vegan for four years. I definitely prefer the whopper. I just like impossible meat more and the burger was was bigger. Thanks for doing this challenge it was fun to watch!

The difference between vegan and plant based is that vegan will not use any animal products or byproducts, things made by animals etc, this includes things like honey. While plant-based isn't that exclusive, although many things labeled plant based will also be vegan.

I would contact Apple/the store this happened in. You have a receipt that clearly states you got a screen protector on and the person you spoke to about the glass one said there wasn’t one on. That’s on Apple. I can give you a giggle -I get a very good plastic film called color g from amazon for my phone. I’d put one on, and they last about a year. Had removed it a year later and noticed the screen was still not looking good….it was then, I realized I’d forgotten to take off the original plastic cover to the brand new phone back when I got it. There was a thin film over it that comes when you get a new phone that had also been on there for a year :D Yup, that’s me!

The Bath & body Works in Canada. Have a little sections where they have pepper hanging in bags and if you smell the pepper in between smelling sense it helps clear your nose.

Since you were asking about the difference between plant-based and vegan, I know in the US most places have vegetarian and vegan options marked with their respective symbols. While that could be the system they use in the UK, it seems very misleading since vegans do not consume dairy products, eggs, and meat. Plant-based is also misleading because it refers to no meat in the patty but the burger can have egg or cheese in it as well and still be “plant-based”. I’m a pescatarian for reference, so I can go through a drive through and get a plant-based breakfast sandwich that contains eggs and cheese with the plant-based patty; therefore, that sandwich is not a vegan option. Also, some vegetarians keep eggs in their diet while others don’t (just based on opinion/preference). I hope this helps in clearing up any confusion!

generally, i think for something to be advertised as vegan it has to be approved (you see it often has a tick on it that says vegan) and if it isn’t it’s normally as a result of contamination, such as in factory and plant based is normally completely vegan anyway :)

I just found out that they have a vegan long chicken at Burger King in Germany. Seema like their chicken substitutes are vegan. They also say plantbased means that the focus of the burgers is on plants, but the food can contain small amounts of meat, egg and honey. I also didn‘t know that until now.

Plant based is a diet, vegan is a lifestyle. In marketing vegan usually means there's no cross contamination anywhere in production and is certified vegan, plant based means there's no animal products but its not certified or safe from cross contamination

A lot of places (I think it depends on country) use may or "special sauce" that are made with egg, dairy-based cheese, and are prepared/cooked/stored in places where meat may be. If meat MIGHT be near it, they won't declare it "vegan" to avoid potential lawsuits. Additionally, McD's chips are not vegan because of the oil they use

Just to clear up the vegan and plant based confusion they are the same just different names or made of more veggies than other substitutes. Hope this helps as I am vegan xx

I heard that some places can't claim to be vegan even though the ingredients are but they are prepared together with meat. Vegan patty fried with a meat patty, same surface etc.

I think it's even harder for Vegan to find options because there are things that you would think are, like fries, but that might not be accurate. Nick wasn't wrong when he said the fries aren't vegan, vegetarian yes, vegan no. At least here in the states, McDonald's fries have animal fat or something coating them.

Plant based is the diet and vegan is the life style. Some people eat plant based but will use wool or other products. The SA Burger King used non vegan Mayo on their plant based burger for a short time. Another reason they say plant based is because it’s cooked on the same grill as the meat and some vegans don’t agree with that. However others are just great full to have options available.

Regarding your screen protector, i'm sure i saw in a video you peeled the plastic one off but then they didnt have the glass one so you said you'd just have to be extra careful with your phone in the meantime

We don't have very many veggie or vegan options here in the USA my mom has a hard time eating fast food, she eats fries with cheese alot. As for shopping for perfume I have to have my boyfriend go with me or my mom shes my client/boss so I have to be able to wear it around her.

As long as you ask for no mayo on the Impossible Whopper, it's vegan :) you don't have to worry about the cheese bcuz whoppers (reg or impossible) don't come with cheese unless you ask for it (you have to specifically ask for Whopper *with cheese* if you want it)

The cheese and mayo would negate the "vegan" unless they have vegan mayo and vegan cheese. I think its just the meat patty that's been replaced but I could be wrong. McDonalds here in the US also offers a Surf n turf big mac which I think is a fish patty and a burger patty on the same sandwich...

Burger king have a vegan chicken burger if you dint like beef and also, perfume... Sniff coffee beans after smelling a few and it'll cleanse your palate.

The thing is that "vego" meals is often VEGETARIAN (or lakto-ovo vegetarian even) and nog VEGAN. There's a big difference. Plant based should mean vegan (i think - someone pls correct me otherwise). But im not sure if they only mean that The "meat" is plantbased. Could still be milk/butter in the bread and normal cheese and so on

I myself always get the impossible burger at bk Idk why but it DOES taste better than the regular burger.

You have plenty of video footage since visiting the Apple store that day. You could always think back to videos where you held your phone up towards the camera and check the footage. Show them your proof and if they still dont believe you, ask if they can look at the day you came in (use the date and time from your receipt to narrow in) and have them take a look. Thats what I would do, atleast! You might even have footage you didnt put in the vlog of you and Nick talking about how it looks like nothing is there. That'd be your ultimate proof!

I'm not vegan but at subway you can just get a sub sandwich with all vegetables and it's really good.

Hey Jazz, just fyi: fries are almost never vegan as they're most often fried in animal fat or in a combination of animal fat and vegetable oil and not in just vegetable oil. So unless you know for sure that it's fried in vegetable oil, it's not vegan. Just like most soups aren't vegan because they're more often made with animal broth and not with vegetable or herbal broth, unless you made it yourself or you know for sure.

In the U.S., Burger King puts non-vegan mayo on the vegan whopper, it doesn't make sense!

One problem in regards to vegetarian/vegan options at fast food restaurants is that it's all about what sells, and for how much. If they aren't selling a lot of vegetarian/vegan options or can't make much profit off of each item, then it's pointless for them to even attempt to sell them as they might even be taking a loss.

I think you should try eating out for a day being gluten free. You will realise how hard it can be to grab a sandwich or a takeaway etc

Vegan is not supposed to have any animal byproducts (not even dairy/cheese/butter, or eggs). Vegetarian or Plant Based is a bit more flexible and can contain dairy/cheese and mayonaise/eggs (like what is used in making breads like the burger bun).

Unfortunately in Australia they axed the vegetarian options at McDonald's and a few other fast food places. I'm not strictly a vegetarian but I have an intolerance to meat and can't digest it. Miss the vegetarian deluxe.
