David Jason’s acting at 13:45 when he comes out to tell them the baby is born, is one of the most emotional moments in OFAH. Jason’s acting skills are brilliant in this moment. Always brings a lump to my throat when we see the true Derek as proud as punch and with a heart of gold.

@@murdoch691 I think that scene in 'Strained Relations' is perhaps the best depiction of what the early stages of grief is really like for a lot of people... I've experienced pretty much exactly that scenario before. Where a family member has died, and everyone's quietly bottling it all up, but it manifests itself as irritability, and friction instead. Then it all culminates in a big argument and the pressure is finally released.

When 'Del' talks to Damien at the end, David Jason shows what a brilliant actor he is. If you ever get into reacting to Drama, watch him as a detective in 'Frost' - he's superb in that.

As a Brit,I can confirm David Jason is an amazing,versatile character actor who starred in numerous other series while still playing Del Boy🤔 Open All Hours,Bit Of A Do and Darling Buds Of May were some of them. In 1992,he started in A Touch Of Frost(based on the novels of the character Jack Frost) and here in Britain,we were amazed at how he transformed into this character😯 These were much darker stories,dealing in violence,rape and murder(around 2 hours long)and if you only watch one episode,I would suggest Penny For The Guy from 1997 which is about a kidnapped boy and a random demand!

Hiya Josh, I can remember these the first time, they set off for 30 minutes in the first few seasons, then when it got popular John Sullivan and David Jason went to Head of Comedy at BBC and John said "I've got some good material for Only Fools And Horses but We'll have to go to 50 minutes" so the head of comedy said "that's alright" and that's why Only Fools and Horses got 30 million viewers every week on a Sunday night, this is Choppy in Whitehaven, Cumbria, England

Little Problems (Rodney's Wedding) didn't really have an end gag either, the last 30 seconds were pretty much just Del standing on the dance floor after everyone had left with Simply Red Holding Back The Years playing.

@AIF Yup you're compeltely right, I went and checked my dvd. I grew up with a bunch of episodes on a blank VHS tape and that scene was the last thing on the tape hence my confusion.

Little Problems definitely had a funny ending even though the episode had some sad moments. Josh mentioned Grandads funeral episode that didn't have a end gag but it actually did with Uncle Albert being happy to stay with Del and Rodney. The only other episode that didn't have an end gag was Who Wants To Be A Millionaire in Season 5 when Del turned down the offer from his mate Jumbo Mills to go to Australia

They had to change the music that plays when Rodney reacts to Damien for copyright reasons. It used to be “Oh Fortuna”, which was much funnier as it’s a more dramatic piece. If you don’t know it, it should be on here somewhere. Del’s speech to Damien and Joan at the end has got to be one of the most touching moments in any sitcom ever. Personally I’m glad they didn’t spoil it with an end joke.

Another brilliant episode. Some great Trigger bits also. Just occurred to me that Sir David Jason, who played Del Boy is actually quite well spoken in real life. You'd think it sounded odd after seeing so many eps with him as Del!

Tee Jai - Same with Nicholas Lyndhurst. He's from Hampshire in real-life and is from a middle-class background. His character in New Tricks (Danny) spoke soft RP, which is his real accent.

I love this episode and laughed all the way through until the end. Then when he talks to his mum in Heaven and hold up his son I burst into tears as I had not managed to make my dear mum in Heaven a grandma.

The end of grandad is when Mike tells uncle Albert that place has a room for him and Albert says shhhhhh. So was kind of a joke ending

that last bit is why only fools worked so well, it wasnt just all funny and slapstick, there were several emotional, 'real' and poignant moments in it, it could go from hilarious comedy to serious and back again in a minute, not many sitcoms did that so well.

This is a great episode but the next season the trilogy of Xmas 96 is by far the best of them all. Amazing writing and great acting. Can not wait for your reaction to that.

Ever decreasing circles and Some mother's do AVE em are hilarious.Some mother's do AVE em starred Micheal Crawford (the original Phantom of the opera.) He did all his own stunts which were not faked.The cliff and roller skating ones are pretty terrifying.

I saw the musical in London earlier this year. The reviews were mixed and I'm sure if you're a West End aficionado you could slate it, but I loved it. Rodney stole the show too. Great actor.
