Strange clicking sound in the engine... Not sure what it is... Help SOLVED: The exhaust pipe that comes from all the cylinders moved so the exhaust gases leaked there.
i had the exactly the same problem with my astra mk 4 it turned out to be a leaking oil seal this was causing oil to squirt all over the timing belt causing the belt to stretch changed the three oil seals behind the timing belt renewed the timing belt and tensioner and happy days all was ok
hey, is the problem solved ? I know that when you start the astra, the engine must be at 700tr/min, in case of issue it's 1000tr/min (when the electrical generator of my 1.7 dti isuzu was out of run, the speed of my engine was 1000tr/min without accelerating). Maybe it's a second beld (not the timing belt) issue. hope you'll find the answer !
i had similar problem. solution was in the oil pressure - too low. when i have poured some oil, problem went away. Opel's 16V has problems with something in engine construction and it's cause higher oil burning. GM writes in instruction that this engine burns even 1l per 1000km, but not everyone have this complication. my engine burns sth around 0,5l but when somebody ride frequently, continuous oil checks are annoying...
IDK but knock gotta be fixed before it goes hello from the other side. I think the rpm could be maf , but... god knows .try going to a mechanic for the diagnostic scan, you will know more than for sure
I drove it to local mehanic. The exhaust pipe that comes from all the cylinders moved so the exhaust gases leaked there. He just put it back in place and now its ok. 50€ was the cost
I just wanna ask for my car astra Opel 1,6 classic . My car is to slowly when I drive it we change the clutch that we were thinking it is that but it's still happening ..... anyone who may help please
check oil level with the deep stick.....opel astra G consumes 0.6l / 1000 km (as the maunal says) ...if you drive to long you should do a oil completetion and will sound fine again.

Könnte Problem mit Wasserpumpe und spannrolle sein. Der Zeiger der Spannrolle schlägt gegen den Kranz der Wasserpumpe. Dies führt zur Zerstörung des Kranzes und dem Zahnriemen. Motorschaden droht. Motor abstellen. Prüfen ob da alles in Ordung ist und keine Metallteile sich gelöst haben.
Sebastian Porsch kommt von der Nockenwelle, hört man eindeutig, das ein Stößel nicht mehr funktioniert. Teurer Spaß das ganze. Vermutung liegt nahe, dass zu viel geheizt wurde
