I love, love, love, love this one!!!
See, I don't have "a favorite movie", but this is one of the best I ever watched! Every interaction between them felt natural, and feels so much like watching two real people falling in love, and that is what makes this movie so great! I laugh so much with Naomi, and cheer so much for Steve, and at the end it is so beautiful seeing the two of them helping each other.
That said, I hope you also can enjoy the film.

This British film is intelligent, literate, philosophical, and heartfelt. Its two leads are both complex and soulful; both intellectual and passionate; both wary and brave. And their chemistry is so off-the-charts, from their first tentative meeting to the tenderly triumphant conclusion of the film. This is an arthouse film that turns the gaze away from the navel toward discovery of great things in the most intimate of sorrows and illuminating of possibilities.

I suppose that I am drawn to films such as Open for the intelligence and artistry involved. I must say that the smart, complex, and very beautiful couple ( both to the eye and soul) of this film seal the deal: they are mesmerizing. I do post comments and reviews here, ranging from the Beatles to Beyoncé, Prince to Proust ( encounter true cultural and artistic titans, must post, and all of that) and quite a few things betwixt and between. The Bear is a current fave as well as Blindspotting ( based on the brilliant film about hypergentrifying Oakland), McDonald and Dodd, and Masterpiece Theatre’s Professor T ( a cut above the usual gentille offerings). I will look for YOUR reviews, too, and always thank you for kind, warm, and generous words!

I loved this sweet simple movie about golf. And really about how you can naturally fall for someone regardless of race. Their chemistry, bravo!!

I have watched this movie at least 20 times. It is effortless, warm, funny, informative. I learned a lot about golf and don't even consider it a real sport. But two people just connecting with each other was enjoyable to watch.
