It's always good to see Mikael enjoying himself during the outro of Heir Apparent. He may not feel the drive to write more songs like that, but I'm glad he can still relate to them.
I have had the pleasure of seeing some amazing bands, and have always enjoyed Opeth's music. But I finally got to see them live during the Devin Townsend Project, Gojira, and Opeth tour in the US......Absolutely amazing band to see live! It's the kinda metal that punches you right in the soul.....Chaos, beauty, and complexity. Opeth is about as pure as it gets for well constructed progressive metal. Bow down to the Opethhhhhhh!
Åkerfeltd's growls do sound lot better now than few years ago. He could also give some wahwah-pedal lessons to Kirk Hammet. How to not just wank the pedal up and down all the time :)
"In My Time Of Need" is absolutely brilliant here - even better than the Lamentations recording (including a beautiful and understated keyboard solo, though I do so miss Lopez and Peter). Hearing that song again really brings me back.. [ *insert warm and fuzzy feeling here* ] :3
I almost lost my hope few years back while watching some performances, hope he gets even better. Deliverance was very decent comparing to when I watched them in 2012

Nice acoustic simulator sound on the guitars! As for the mix, it's not shit, it isn't horrible, as so many of you say.. Yeah, they keyboards are a bit too high, but as a whole, it comes across quite well. Clear sound and tight playing. Considering this is a Free video, you may try to be a bit less harsh. Enjoy Opeth, as there haven't been a band quite this fucking awesome in the entire existence of music, IMO.
Phenomenal. Epic performances and insanely creative and incredible songwriting. I feel personally offended the crowd is just like kinda there not really going insane. I'm in my freaking home feeling this in my bones and bouncing off the walls. Would love to see them live.
They sound quite fine on Demon of the Fall, but are clearly out of tune on Ghosts of Perdition. The quality seems to vary a lot between songs and gigs.
I personally like his growls better now then I did in the past. They have always been solid, but his "newer" growl technique seems to have a lot more vocal wobble.....20% more brutal haha
I think they just pull people out of the crowd and have them do the mixing work at festivals like this. Can remember the last time i've heard good mixing at a festival like this.
