I think Jocktober really put the screws to Opie. Listeners had a gauge of hacky radio, juxtaposed with Opie being a hack and acting like Howard about every radio station. Part of me still thinks Sam knew exactly the segments he was cutting got closer and closer to Opies typical radio behavior

The best "I'm a math genius" of all time was when he said he was so far of the other kids in the school that "When everyone else was studying multiplication, I was studying...whatever came next." Can you imagine someone so dumb that they can't name a single area of mathematics beyond arithmetic? Let alone someone claiming to be a math genius? Fuck, I'm not even going to assume Opie knows the word arithmetic. He had to say multiplication instead.

At 24 min Ant & Jim make fun of women for killing comedy. I think they're subtly making digs at Opie. I know Opie has his faults, but, their passive aggression was unnecessary. Maybe if they had called him out directly when he ruined bits then he would have stopped doing it so much. I love the show. It is very entertaining, but, they are all very damaged people.
