Louis CK is like a reverse Mencia. Louie doesn't talk about being Mexican and often refers to himself as "white." Maybe one day he'll come out and talk about it during one of his specials... it'll be like that scene in Chappelle Show where the KKK guy's head explodes.
Whiteness is a category that has expanded and contracted depending on the political needs of the moment; hence why the Irish were considered white in America, but not in England. Mexicans were counted as "white" in the U.S. Census before 1970 because it was politically advantageous for them to be in that category. Even the Chinese were ruled as white in a couple of supreme court cases to justify the decisions.
Now that it's clear I guess we can stop with the bullshit concept that everyone is and should be treated equal. You get treated based on how you look bottom-line ...hmmmmm... I wonder who's benefited from that " good ole" american mentality .. Hilarious
