I found new stackable clear acrylic bins that are PERFECT for storing and displaying fat quarters, half yards and yard cuts.
I do have to fold my fat quarters a little bit different to make them short enough to allow the bins to be stacked. I show you how I do it and then you can watch as I organize my ENTIRE Tula Pink stash in color order.
Once you watch it, I want to see your stash, especially if you get it organized after watching this video. And if you make it to the end of the video, there's a giveaway you can enter.
We still have a little bit of Tula Pink left, shop here: shop.quiltaddictsanonymous.co...
Shop remnants to add to your stash: shop.quiltaddictsanonymous.co...
Grab the storage bins: www.target.com/p/12-34-x-6-34...

These containers are great inspiration for me as I'm new to quilting! Have been collecting a sizable 'stash' about 6mo now.. All in clear tubs by color, for now, lol! Tula fabrics are the only designer I keep separate!! Thank you Stephanie, greatly appreciate your channel !!!❤

I watched your video at 7:30 this morning and picked up 8 bins from Target before 8:30. I’ve been folding fat quarters all day and love the result. Previously, they were stacked in canvas bins, and I really didn’t know what I had. Thanks so much for this video. (I’m pretty sure 8 won’t be enough 😊.)

Beautiful collection & I enjoyed watching you fold & organize. I hired a carpenter to build a cabinet with 3 large doors for my collection of Kaffe Fasset fabric BUT I recently discovered Tula Pink. OMG move over Kaffe & make room as Tula is slowly (ok fastly) moving in. I just completed my 1st Tula quilt & now working on 2” hexi’s doing 1st paper piecing using mostly “Bestie, Linework & polka dots). I just received the Tula Nova pattern & paper pieces & already have all the fabric in my stash. SEW much fun! 🥰

I love the bin idea! I struggle with using fat quarters because they aren’t organized well. Currently, I just sort them by line, since I’ll likely use them that way. But once I use some of the line is put the rest by color.

I keep some collections (such as Tula, Tilda, Kaffe) together in their bundles on a shelf. Other fabrics I mix and organize by color in bins and baskets. Your Tula collection looks so pretty in the clear bins; I think I will try that!

I purchased an over the door, side-loading shoe rack. I put fat quarters by color on one side and 1/2 yds on the other. With the leftover spaces at the bottom, I put panels. It hangs inside my closet door. I also bought a cart with 10 plastic colorful drawers. I put scraps in the drawers basically matching the drawer color. Ex. Pink in a red drawer, red in a red drawer, yellow in a yellow drawer, orange in a yellow drawer. There are 2 of each color drawer.

Color, color, color and usually the size of the piece doesn't matter. When I need to put together a project, I pull by colors that I think will work together and it's been working great for me! I did love watching you put colors together for your storage--I, sometimes, struggle with that. Thanks for sharing.

This was so much fun to watch. Some of your Tula comments sound just like my daughter who also has what she calls a ridiculous amount of Tula fabrics. I bought some of those tall project type compartments from JoAnns years ago for my fat quarters and have them organized by color mostly, but the batiks get their own storage separately. I guess batiks are like my Tula. I love these containers you have and can see myself trying them out. Thanks.

Love to watch you organize. This is a great strategy for all of us visual creators! And as you rightly say - just seeing the fabrics makes you happy. This collection displays beautifully. I’ve been in the process of combining two stashes. Going through the fabric organization step periodically is helping me whittle down and also make decisions about the fabrics so they get used, sold or donated. It is fun to go through them! Aside from projects in progress (and this is a loose definition), the fabrics are in two sets of translucent covered bins, sorted by color. There is a set for fat quarters and half yards and another set for yards and up. Anything smaller, post-project gets cut into a few standard strips or block sizes and miscellaneous small bits are roughly grouped by color and theme for other potential crafting into small plastic bags. Probably the biggest difference in organizing style is that I minimize folds in the fabric. The broader sized containers allow most fat quarter to have just one fold. That said, I do have a dedicated Tula bin. :)

Very fun organising! I store by colour order as well. I used to separate by designer now just put all same colours together. I can easily know which designer is which. I have them in a drawer unit at the moment. In my previous converted garage my 6 metre long floor to ceiling storage wall had cubicles with the yardage folded with towers of fat quarters in front of them. It was glorious to slide the doors open and behold the fabric!!!!!!! I would love to see the different Tula projects that you have on the go xxxxxxx

I keep my Tula Pink separate from my other fabrics. (I have a lot.) I mix my fat quarters in with my half-yards and yards. I label each fabric with its color number from my 24-color color tool. I have also separated my fabrics into wildflower, mineral, hexys, tiny dots, tiny stripes, and pom poms and tent stripes and put each section in color order. I have my prints in a different stack according to collection. I keep my fabrics in fairly large Sterlite stackable containers. When I’m not actively using the fabrics, I keep the stacks of containers covered with old sheets to protect the fabric from light.

I definitely ran out and bought these for my FQ's, but I also got the large stackable Brightroom containers with the handles for my large collections. I organize certain designers by designer; Tilda, Tula Pink, Heather Ross, Anna Maria Horner, Sally Kelly, Alison Glass, all by designer, by collection, by color. Everything else is just by color. Question! How do you identify your solids? Do you write the name in the selvedge? I just started as I need specific colors for specific patterns, and it's hard to compare with what's on a screen swatch. I just made a Ruby + Bee swatchbook because the Windham one online is not accurate for real life. This was fun to watch, thank you for sharing! 🌈

I was obsessed with Tula but quickly realized how her fabrics don’t live up to the hype. The fabric designs should fit nicely between the WOF SELVAGES Instead, a lot of her designs are cut in half at the selvage. She should plan her designs to fit within the selvages. Also, the fabric could be a better quality. She should also have solid colors that actually match, like the exact same color as the designs. And lastly, please make the lines cohesive. There’s usually a couple odd pieces that don’t match. In ZUMA we had the ugly shells that look like a generic seamless file that no one really wants. In curiouser and curiouser we have the cats that don’t blend in as well as ugly lady bugs in tiny beasts that don’t blend well and in daydreamer we have the strange little pieces of fruits that don’t match the rest of the graphics. They all look similar in their graphics and none of them match the rest of the one but everyone buys them to have a complete set. Well, I am not doing it anymore. Ugly fabrics be Gone! Lol. She should up the quality on the things I mentioned for the amount of money we spend.
